Investigation of the author(s) and year of publication of "Kozangaku" edited by the Imperial Japanese Army Academy (Study of the History of Mathematics 2021)
As for the text book “Kōzangaku” edited by the Imperial Japanese Army Academy, it is well known that there are no evidence of who is the author and when it was published. In this paper we propose that a new candidate of the author must be Masahide Kawatani, Army Artillery Lieutenant, and the year of publication is possibly 1887 which is one year earlier than its common view
I. Facile preparation of ortho-fluorophenols from non-aromatic precursors and investigation of applications to fluorine-18 labeling II. Resin-supported silyl ester precursors for kit-like radiolabeling with fluorine-18
Molecular imaging is a technique that can be used to visualize complex biochemical processes without perturbing living organisms, and it has been playing increasingly important roles for the early detection of disease states and monitoring the results of therapies. Among molecular imaging techniques, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) has significant advantages compared with other techniques, which includes its high sensitivity and high spatial resolution, and most importantly, its ability to provide functional information, whereas MRI or CT provide largely anatomical information. Among commonly used positron-emitting radionuclides, fluorine-18 has a number of preferred characteristics which are, 1) longest half-life, 109 minutes, 2) lowest maximum energy and 3) purest mode of decay. However, F-18 radiolabeling method is still underdeveloped, and thus, practical radiosyntheses are limited to nucleophilic substitution, especially at alkyl positions. Therefore, to extend the utility of F-18 for PET radiotracers, novel radiolabeling methods with F-18 that enable the preparation of a wide variety of radiotracers, rapidly, efficiently and conveniently are in highly demand in the field of radiochemistry.
Chapter 1 presents an introduction of PET imaging techniques, and outlines the basics of F-18 radiochemistry, which focuses on the synthetic difficulties associated with the nature of fluoride and especially F-18. It also highlights the current efforts placed on the development of novel fluorination methods toward F-18 radiosynthesis, especially C-F bond formation on electron-rich aromatic rings and use of fluorophilic elements for rapid preparation of radiotracers.
Chapter 2 discusses the development of a facile a fluorination method that produces ortho-fluorophenols from non-aromatic precursors. We have found that α-diazocyclohexenones undergo halofluorination with fluoride ion as fluoride source, and the following hydrohalide elimination and tautomerization afford ortho-fluorophenols rapidly. The translation to F-18 radiolabeling was achieved using organic soluble phase transfer catalysis under carrier-added conditions. Although labeling under non-carrier-added conditions is still a work in progress, our current progress points to a new approach to label electron-rich aromatic rings rapidly and at high specific activity (SA).
Chapter 3 discusses the development of a kit-like radiosynthetic method using a resin-supported silicon based precursor. We have found that silyl esters have significant advantages over previously reported methods; they undergo F-18 incorporation under very mild conditions, with F-18 water straight from the cyclotron used without any drying. We further developed the resin-supported method which enables simple purification of the radiotracer. The utility of this approach is showcased in three main area of research: prosthetic groups, small molecules and peptides.Submission published under a 24 month embargo labeled 'Closed Access', the embargo will last until 2017-08-01The student, Norio Yasui, accepted the attached license on 2015-06-30 at 13:33.The student, Norio Yasui, submitted this Dissertation for approval on 2015-06-30 at 13:49.This Dissertation was approved for publication on 2015-07-01 at 11:47.DSpace SAF Submission Ingestion Package generated from Vireo submission #8302 on 2015-09-29 at 15:05:18Made available in DSpace on 2015-09-29T21:02:53Z (GMT). A literatura de cárcere em defesa de um condenado à pena de morte no Japão – “Lágrimas da ignorância”, de Norio Nagayama
Japan in the 1960s was in a fast economic growth and there was poverty in every corner of the country. Norio Nagayama, condemned to death and from a poor background, is an example of a criminal who was influenced by such context. Nagayama was a self-learner in the prison time and has succeded in his literary career which has culminated with the Japanese New Literature Award in 1993. He was arrested after committing four murders in 1968, and his case constituted a new milestone for the establishment of the death penalty criteria for the conviction in Japan. The present article intends to analyze the influence of his first work, Tears of Ignorance (1971), in his defense presented in the tribunals which decided for his execution. This work is a compilation of his notes of poetry and prose with direct reference to his childhood and youth events, social justice ideas, and above all, in concern with his inner trip to seek for the motivation of his crimes. In order to do that, an examination on the persistence of the death penalty in the Japanese System is of pivotal importance to get a greater understanding of the context in which the author lived.
A Study on the Culture and Sciences of the Cannabis and Marihuana XXV
There are many novels that deal with marijuana as drug novels. Among them, the novel entitled “Kaigo-nyumon” written by Mr. Norio Mob was to win the Akutagawa Award in 2004. A marijuana user appears in the novel. We thought that a part of the novel was written by the author under the influence of marijuana. This review critically analyzes the contents of the novel from a scientific point of view.departmental bulletin pape
Virtual mass of regular polygon at angle of attack
In case of the accelerating motion like a sinusoidal motion, the virtual mass effect
should be taken into account in equation of motion. Generally speaking we should
find the appropriate mapping functions while they are restricted in some functions. To
the author\u27s knowledge, the virtual mass of the regular polygon is not shown by the
exact solution, while the regular polygon is used as a sectional shape of the structure
like a building, a membrance of a structure and so on. It is shown that the virtual mass
of an regular polygon has been calculated by using the exact conformal mapping,
in which the angle of attack is taken into account. Results show that it is not
dependent from the angle of attack except the flat plat (n=2). It means, although
the body shape is not a point symmetry, there is no dependence of angle of attack
on virtual mass except the flat plate
