Full‐Waveform Sensitivity Kernels of Component‐Differential Traveltimes and ZH Amplitude Ratios for Velocity and Density Tomography
Previous studies of the Rayleigh wave vertical-to-horizontal amplitude ratios (ZH ratio) assumed one-dimensional velocity and density structures beneath the receiver, neglecting the effects of three-dimensional (3-D) heterogeneities on wave amplitudes. Those studies have well demonstrated that the ZH ratios provide powerful constraints on the crust and mantle structure. However, the azimuthal averaging of the ZH ratios common in those studies means reduced sensitivities to the 3-D structure and thus the ZH ratios\u27 potential resolving power. We derive equations for the 3-D full-wave sensitivity kernels of the ZH ratio and differential traveltime of the vertical and radial components of Rayleigh and P waves, to perturbations in shear and compressional velocities and density. The kernels are calculated based on finite difference modeling of wave propagation in 3-D structures and the scattering-integral method. We verify the 3-D full-wave sensitivity kernels by comparing the predictions from the kernels with the measurements from numerical simulations of wave propagation in models with various small-scale perturbations. In contrast to the 1-D depth sensitivity kernels, our 3-D full-wave kernels exhibit patterns that vary with back azimuths and distances within one wavelength of the receiver, indicating the resolving power not only vertically, and also laterally. In places with dense seismic stations, these kernels will provide a powerful tool to obtain accurate and high-resolution velocity and density models

The invention of Movable-Type Printing in the work of Shen Kuo (1031-1095)
[EN] This article analyses the jotting n° 307 of the book “Brush Talks from Dream Brook”
(Mengxi Bitan), by the scholar Shen Kuo (1031-1095). That jotting presents, by first time in History, the
movable-type printing invention. Our analysis of this jotting relates the exposition made by Shen Kuo
with the social context of its time, as well as with Shen Kuo’s own personal trajectory as scholar-official
of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). The performed examination reveals that Shen Kuo highlights
the movable-type printing invention based on its recurrent interest for technical developments; also, it
is concluded that the above-mentioned interest must not be isolated from Shen Kuo´s trajectory within
the Court, and, finally, that book printing was a noteworthy phenomenon in the society of Shen’s times,
for both socioeconomic and political reasons.[ZH] 本文分析了北宋士大夫沈括(1031-1095)所著《梦溪笔谈》中的第307条。文中

Anomalous Higgs-top coupling pollution of the triple Higgs coupling extraction at a future high-luminosity electron-positron collider
One of the most challenging tasks for future high-luminosity electron-positron colliders is to extract Higgs triple coupling. It was proposed that this can be carried out via precisely measuring the cross section of ZH associated production up to 0.4%. In this paper, we examine the possible heavy pollution from Higgs-top anomalous coupling. Our numerical results show that the pollution is small for root s(e+e-) = 240 GeV. However, for the higher-energy collider, the pollution is sizable, which should be taken into account. We further explore the possibility of measuring CP-violated Higgs-top coupling via the forward-ackward asymmetry A(FB) for the process e(+)e(-) -> ZH. The asymmetry can reach 0.7% which is comparable to the precision of cross-section measurement.Natural Science Foundation of China [11135003, 11375014]SCI(E)[email protected]; [email protected]
THE PROBLEM OF PORTRAYING A NEW TYPE OF NATIONAL CHARACTER IN ZH. AYMAUYTOV'S NOVEL “KARTKOZHA”
The paper is devoted to the depiction of a new type of national identity in Zh. Aymauytov's novel "Kartkozha". The methodological basis of the research conducted was given by the scientific works of Kazakh literary critics S. Kirabaev and R. Nurgali, in which they carried out versatile studies of the problems on the typology of Zh. Aymauytov's novels. In solving the tasks, the methods of historical and functional theory are used. It is argued that Kartkozha acts as a perfect embodiment of the national character that convincingly reflects through behaviour and thoughts the most significant trends in social development in the October Revolution period. We show how the author of the novel tries to combine the humanistic traditions of the education novel in world literature with the class criterion for evaluating the activities of an individual. The new national type offered by Zh. Aymauytov is inseparable from the socio-economic conditions, but the main sources (drivers) of its formation and development still go back to such notions as the ethno-historical memory, the constructive genotypic potential of morality that is actualized by a person in a national space

JUNCTION CONDITIONS ON NULL HYPERSURFACES FOR SPHERICALLY SYMMETRICAL METRICS
A necessary condition for the junction of two spherically symmetric metrics on a null hypersurface to satisfy Lichnerowicz's condition is derived. It is shown using this necessary condition that the junction of the Schwarzschild metric with the Gonzalez metric can never be c1, and the junction of the Reissner-Nordstrom metric with the metric suggested by Shen and Zhu can never be c1 either.Physics, MathematicalSCI(E)0ARTICLE61537-15403
Search for invisible decays of Higgs bosons in the vector boson fusion and associated ZH production modes
A search for invisible decays of Higgs bosons is performed using the vector boson fusion and associated ZH production modes. In the ZH mode, the Z boson is required to decay to a pair of charged leptons or a bb quark pair. The searches use the 8┬á TeV pp collision dataset collected by the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 19.7┬á fb-1. Certain channels include data from 7┬á TeV collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9┬á fb-1. The searches are sensitive to non-standard-model invisible decays of the recently observed Higgs boson, as well as additional Higgs bosons with similar production modes and large invisible branching fractions. In all channels, the observed data are consistent with the expected standard model backgrounds. Limits are set on the production cross section times invisible branching fraction, as a function of the Higgs boson mass, for the vector boson fusion and ZH production modes. By combining all channels, and assuming standard model Higgs boson cross sections and acceptances, the observed (expected) upper limit on the invisible branching fraction at mH = 125 ┬á GeV is found to be 0.58┬á(0.44) at 95┬á% confidence level. We interpret this limit in terms of a Higgs-portal model of dark matter interactions. © 2014, The Author(s)
