Dealing with Gender Disparity in Educational Setting: A Case of Primary Schools in a Karachi’s Town
The significant factors for the increased gender disparity within Pakistan are the parental unequal treatment towards the different genders of their children, girls, and boys under normal routine. Furthermore, societal aspirations can also be stated as the leading cause of gender disparity. This study aimed to focus on addressing the area of gender disparity in primary school education in the country. Employing an in-depth analysis method, semi-structured interviews were conducted from the parents living in Landhi Town, having two or more male and female children aged between five and ten years. Several themes and sub-themes, supposed to be the leading factors for gender disparity in the country, emerged in the result of data analysis gathered via the interviews. The most significant identified factors include poverty, school proximity, security issues, social issues and perception of parents regarding the importance of girls’ education. Therefore, policy makers and educationists are recommended to pay attention to parental awareness programs and the social issues associated with gender disparity in primary education

CPEC: Investments other than China
This case study explores and engages the strategic importance of china Pakistaneconomic corridor having based on 16 billion between china and Pakistan.in addition to this Pakistan’s major in-dustries are expected to flourish and gain an edge like that of developed nations
Highlighting the Dynamics of the Game-Changer: Empirical Evidence from Stock Markets of the Key Players
China Pakistan Economic Corredor (CPEC), a predictive game-changer, was perceived to bring favourable changes in the economy of both its players. It was claimed that a boost shall be seen in each sector of the economy especially for Pakistan. Highlighting this key assumption, this study attempts to conduct a comparative analysis of PSX and Shanghai returns for pre and post announcement of CPEC. The time-series data of the two indices i.e. PSX-100 and Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) is selected ranging from 4th January 2010 to 2nd January 2019. The comparative analysis of both the economy indicates significant difference t(2220.237) = 2.872, p = 0.004 before CPEC-announcement and this difference becomes insignificant post-CPEC announcement t(1654.132) = 0.315, p = 753. Whereas, individual analysis of returns of both the economies indicated a signif icant change for PSX 100 t(1038)= 2.050, p = 0.041 but for SHCOMP this change is not signif icant t(1008) =-0.697, p = 0.486. The findings of the study reflect the potentials of CPEC to bring changes in Pakistani Stock market than a mature market of Chin
Earning per unit of common stockholder: A predictor of share prices
The glaring of the stock market and the frequency of transaction involved there in have prompted the research community to make sophisticated predictions related to its components. In such a situation, the most highligted variable is the market value of the share. The prediction is made to spotlight a model that could give investors a solution to allocate their valuable financial resources. With such outburst of research in this field, no magic key or perfect model is ever identified that could solve the puzzle of share prices fluctuation hence, making this topic ever heated up and hot. This study is an extension of such research studies whereby we have taken Earning per share as a regressor for the market price of the share. Panel statistics of random effect model are applied by taking five companies from the fertilizer sector. Data considered for the study is for a period between 2004 and 2015. The results of the study defined a strong causal linkage between EPS and share prices (t = 18.24125, p<0.01 and R2 = 0.853098). These findings can direct the investors to include EPS in their share evaluation criteria and make a prudent decision in this regard.N/

Facile synthesis of iron-titanate nanocomposite as a sustainable material for selective amination of substitued nitro-arenes
The fabrication of durable and low-cost nanostructured materials remains important in chemical, biologic and medicinal applications. Particularly, iron-based nanomaterials are of central importance due to the ‘noble’ features of iron such as its high abundance, low cost and non-toxicity. Herein we report a simple sol–gel method for the synthesis of novel iron–titanium nanocomposite-based material (Fe9TiO15@TiO2). In order to prepare this material, we made a polymeric gel using ferrocene, titanium isopropoxide and THF precursors. The calcination of this gel in air at 500◦C produced Fe-Ti bimetallic nanoparticles-based composite and nano-TiO2 as support. Noteworthy, our methodology provides an excellent control over composition, size and shape of the resulting nanoparticles. The resulted Fe-based material provides a sustainable catalyst for selective synthesis of anilines, which are key intermediates for the synthesis of several chemicals, dyes and materials, via reduction of structurally diverse and functionalized nitroarenes. © 2020 by the authors. Prevalence of Hepatitis B, C and HIV Viruses in Blood Donors at Patel Hospital
Globally around 70 million people are suffering from chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV), chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) and Human Immuno Deficiency Virus (HIV) infections. Owing to inadequate health care facilities and lack of awareness at large, Pakistan is also adversely affected by these diseases. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of transfusion transmitted viral infections among voluntary blood donors at Patel Hospital Karachi. All blood donors who visited the blood bank at Patel Hospital Karachi were processed. Participants were selected through stringent selection criteria ensuring safety of both the donor and recipient. Specimens from donated blood were screened for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), antibody against hepatitis C virus (anti HCV) and antibody against Human Immuno Deficiency Virus type 1 (HIV-1) and type 2 (HIV-2) using chemiluminosence based assays. A total of 4034 donors were processed in this study. Based on the selection criteria, 424 donors were deferred and 3610 were enrolled into the study. Anemia was the most common cause for deferral. Among the study participants 69 (1.91%) donors were HBsAg, 81(2.24%) were Anti HCV and 2 were Anti HIV-1/HIV-2 infected. It was concluded that the most common cause for donor deferral is anemia and that a significant number of voluntary blood donors are infected with (HBV), (HCV) and (HIV). Blood products should, therefore, be properly screened for these infections
