COMPARING THE ACTIVATION OF RELU, ELU, AND TANH FUNCTIONS IN CLASSIFYING BETTA FISH SPECIES USING CNN
Betta fish is one of the most popular freshwater ornamental fish, especially in Indonesia because in addition to easy maintenance, breeding is also relatively easy. The most common betta fish, especially in Indonesia, are Crowntail, Halfmoon, and Plakat. But some people can't tell the difference between the types. Therefore, in this final project, we will classify the types of betta fish.
The Crowntail has fins that resemble spines or fingers, the Halfmoon has very wide fins and the tail is like a half moon, while the plakat is almost the same as the halfmoon, only the fins are small. Therefore, the author uses CNN to classify the types of betta fish. In addition to classifying the types of betta fish, the author will also compare which 3 activations (Relu, Tanh, Elu) have the best results.
Based on the results of tests that have been carried out by CNN, it can work well to classify the types of betta fish. By using Relu activation, the test results get an accuracy of 80%
Elu Sõna: päästmine, tervenemine ja edukus
The author provides an overview of the predecessors of the new religious group Word of Life(the healing-revival of the Pentecostal Church in the 1950s and other Charismatic Ministries), its emergence in the United States and spreading to Scandinavia, incl. Finland. The paper presents a more detailed account of the versatile activities of the «Elämän Sana» congregation in Turku. The author also observes the so-called 'success theology' from the historical aspect and its manifestations in denominations discussed here. Main focus is on how members of the congregation define success, which they perceive as a sign of God's blessing
Motivation of Iisaku community activists to promote community life
The problem of the thesis is the lack of recognition for those who do commendable community work. The author would also like to know what motivates community activists. Little is known about the public about these actions, so people are unaware of what motivates them
Ihaldusväärse elu representatsioon Arteri kaanelugudes
This bachelor thesis studies the representation of desirable life in Estonian largest daily
newspaper´s Postimees weekend supplement called Arter.
The author uses qualitative analysis to find dominating discourses of desirable and not
desirable life as well as the similarities and differences between the representation of
journalists and interviewees.
In addition, content analysis is used to find the values desired by the interviewees and their
friends, relatives or colleagues who were asked by the journalist to characterize the
interviewee.
The analysis showed that media represents people trough their social role and represents
social effort as the dominating value. At the same time, the interviewees say that they would
like to spend more time with their family or that they have postponed starting a family and
committed to work.
The friends, relatives and colleagues who were asked to characterize the interviewees equally
value proffesionalism (social role) and being a good person (individual role).
The following quote from one lead is a good example of the dominating representation:
“Peep Vain is a model of new era´s people in Estonia. His keywords are work, work, success,
development, work, cheerfulness and success (Valme 2005a:6).
The analysis also showed that one of the most negative values represented is the society in
general. It was characterized as being intolerant, hostile, superficial, career-oriented and not
caring about nature.
One has to keep in mind that the results of this paper may not be applicable to the media in
general and the results may be characteristic of a certain era.http://tartu.ester.ee/record=b2115995~S1*es
Life on the Front Page and in the Back YardImpressions about the exhibition and its catalogueIn October 2021, the exhibition „Life on the Front Page” was opened at the UT Library, which brought to its viewers Estonian-language newspapers published over the past 200 years, showing 231 front pages of 77 different newspapers published in Estonia, America, Russia, Sweden and Australia. Based on the materials of the exhibition, Roosmarii Kurvits prepared a 174-page catalogue Life on the front page. Front pages of Estonian newspapers 1821–2021, published at the beginning of 2022. This large-format collection, edited byTiit Hennoste, gives a comprehensive overview of the development of our newspapers, illustrated by their front pages; the catalogue is divided into four periods and accompanied by texts written by Krista Aru and Roosmarii Kurvits.
While browsing the exhibition catalogue, the author of the article recalls her childhood encounters with newspapers, their availability and reading of them
Strong Summer Atmospheric Rivers Trigger Greenland Ice Sheet Melt through Spatially Varying Surface Energy Balance and Cloud Regimes
peer reviewedMass loss from the Greenland Ice Sheet (GrIS) has accelerated over the past
two decades, coincident with rapid Arctic warming and increasing moisture
transport over Greenland by atmospheric rivers (ARs). Summer ARs affect-
ing western Greenland trigger GrIS melt events, but the physical mechanisms
through which ARs induce melt are not well understood. This study elu-
cidates the coupled surface-atmosphere processes by which ARs force GrIS
melt through analysis of the surface energy balance (SEB), cloud properties,
and local- to synoptic-scale atmospheric conditions during strong summer AR
events affecting western Greenland. ARs are identified in MERRA-2 reanal-
ysis (1980–2017) and classified by integrated water vapor transport (IVT)
intensity. SEB, cloud, and atmospheric data from regional climate model,
observational, reanalysis, and satellite-based datasets are used to analyze
melt-inducing physical processes during strong, > 90th percentile “AR90+ ”
events. Near AR “landfall”, AR90+ days feature increased cloud cover that re-
duces net shortwave radiation and increases net longwave radiation. As these
oppositely-signed radiative anomalies partly cancel during AR90+ events, in-
creased melt energy in the ablation zone is primarily provided by turbulent
heat fluxes, particularly sensible heat flux. These turbulent heat fluxes are
driven by enhanced barrier winds generated by a stronger synoptic pressure
gradient combined with an enhanced local temperature contrast between cool
over-ice air and the anomalously warm surrounding atmosphere. During
AR90+ events in northwest Greenland, anomalous melt is forced remotely
through a clear-sky foehn regime produced by down-slope flow in eastern
Greenland
Pilgusadu läbi elu: Ono no Komachi tõlkimisest / Falling Like Rain through Life: Translating Ono no Komachi
According to Boris Tomashevski it is very important to differentiate writers with a biography from writers without a biography. In the case of writers with a biography, the life story becomes and important supplement to reading and understanding the text. It makes little difference whether the story is true or not. This article takes a look at the 9th century Japane se poet Ono no Komachi, who is considered to be one of the greate st poet s of the Early Classical period. Although her poems were most likely written by many different authors (some presumably even men), the biographical narratives supplementing the texts have created a singular image of the author, which hides the underlying multiplicity of writers. The passion inherent in the poems has fuelled the imagination of storytellers, who have envisioned the author as a beautiful proud woman who was utterly dissatisfied with the way the natural course of things slowly deprived her of the beauty she was once famous for. Medieval Nō plays portray her as coldhearted lover who treats her men cruelly and ends her life as an impoverished old hag living in a dilapidated hut somewhere in the outskirts of the capital. Although almost nothing is known about the historical author and we can be confident that the different accounts of her life are fictional in nature, the subsequent translators and commentaries of her work cannot discard this imaginary tale, since it helps to clarify the ambiguities inherent in Komachi’s rethorically complex writing, which makes extensive use of pivot-words and associative techniques. This article focuses mainly on the Estonian translations of the poem number 113 in the Kokinshū (Collection of Early and Modern Japanese Poetry, 905) and discusses the possibilities inherent in the original text, based on the modern edition of the anthology. Estonian translators Rein Raud and Uku Masing have both resorted to the traditional image of a proud (k yōman) woman, which can be traced back to various historical sources and commentaries on this particular poem. This becomes a key issue in understanding the nature of the authors gaze, since the meaning ‘long rain’ (naga-ame) is skillfully embedded in the verb ‘to gaze’ (nagame) the translator has to find ways to create a nondual experience, where the subject and the object become one in the act of gazing. Rein Raud, a trained Japanese philologist, solves this issue by talking about the vanity and the impermanence of world (mujōkan), which reinforces the traditional Buddhist reading of text (everything in this world passes away – flowers wither and women lose their beauty). In his rendering, Ono no Komachi becomes a philosopher, who understands the nature of reality and almost overcomes her attachment to beauty. Uku Masing’s theoretical commentaries on waka show that although he did not master the Japanese language, he understood that Japanese contained ‘magic words’ (nõiasõna), which should be preserved in translation. Thus he opts for pilgusadu (rain of gazes), which comes close to the ambivalent nature of the original. Uku Masing’s transla-tion reminds Burton Watson’s reading (The beauty of the flowers faded – / no one cared – / and I w a t c h e d m y s e l f / grow old in the world / as the long rains were falling), which outlines the vanity of the women who are constantly worried about their looks. The gaze turns back at women herself – she is constantly worried how other see her and whether they notice how she is getting older. The image of the author created by these translators is very different (the gaze of the philosopher as opposed to the gaze of the woman obsessed with beauty), but both readings are supported by the ambiguous nature of the original.Looking at different translations, we see that modern translations fall into a long line of different readings, which start with the compiler of Kokinshū Ki no Tsurayuki who envisioned Komachi as ‘beautiful sick woman’ and talked about the certain ‘lack of strength’ in her waka, which, in his view, made her poems especially good. The translators have used this as a reliable source, since it is the oldest commentary, but some confusion arises from the fact that Tsurayuki is not describing the historical person, but the effect her texts have on the reader. This article uses terminology coined by Wolf Schmid, which helps to differentiate concrete author (historical person) and the abstract author (image created by the reading). Schmid tells us that the abstract author is constructed by the readers on the basis of the creator as she shows herself inside her creative deeds. In this theoretical framework the translator appear s as the reader who is influenced both by the supplemented life stor y, his own experience of reading the texts and, last but not least, the way that a male translator gazes at the beautiful woman gazing at the withering flowers in the garden. Acknowledging the multiplicity of abstract authors created in different readings of texts leads to very bold translations such as Hasso Krull’s translation presented in this article, which envisons Komachi as a modern, tired woman who suffers from insomnia and does not recognize herself in the mirror
Suurpea Sanatorium
The subject of this graduation work is Suurpea sanatorium which was created on the Pärispea peninsula. The aim of the project was to increase the awareness of the Pärispea Peninsula and Lahemaa National Park by restoring an abandoned building and creating a pleasant resting place for people of all ages. The author's idea was to design a sanatorium complex, which with its architectural design would continue the surrounding landscape and highlight the old forgotten building. The author was inspired by the Andrum Spa building in Sweden and the spa building in Canada. The selected spa buildings were a good example of the use of history and landscape. The final idea of the project did not differ significantly from the original idea, but the project solution was changed several times during the design process. The project focused on restoring the past and connecting it with the present, giving people a reason not to forget old abandoned places, but to give them new life. The Suurpea sanatorium was designed to give life to the abandoned place. As part of the project solution, the old building has been restored and a new building is planned next to it, which is connected by a historical corridor
Compact wind generator
Magistritöö
Tootmistehnika õppekavalKompakttuulegeneraatori projekti peaeesmärk oli vähendada loomapidajate koormust,
kuid autor käsitles ka tuulikut koolide õppematerjalina. Eesmärgi saavutamiseks kasutas
autor ära elektritõukeratta Gpad 5KS KV980L detaile ning teisi komponente. Antud
Samuti teeb
„kompakttuulegeneraatori montaaž ja demontaaž õppeasutuste elu lihtsamaks. Antud töös
on autor täitnud taastuvenergia põhikriteeriumi, milleks on fossiilkütuste nulltolerants.
Kaasa on aidatud globaalsele
emissiooni- tasud. The main objective of this project of compact wind generation is to reduce the workload
of farmers. Many resources of the wind turbine materials for schools were used by the
author. However, in order to achieve the objective, author took full advantage of parts of
an electric scooter Gpad 5KS KV980L and other components. During the technical
analysis of this "compact wind generator", the author was convinced that the designed
electric wind turbine with a horizontal wind turbine and a permanent magnet generator is
the most effective solution for both users of energy-production and users of novice wind
turbine. The assembly and disassembly of a "compact wind generator" also makes life
easier for educational institutions. All in all, in this work, the author has fulfilled the main
criterion of renewable energy, which is zero tolerance of fossil fuels. On a global scale,
there are many farmers who are in need of this solution, and if we add educational
institutions to develop the field of renewable energy, then the author believes that this
project has successfully fulfilled its purpose. It facilitates the reduction of global warming
as well as helps to avoid CO2 emissions charges
Kohtla-Järve road condition and analysis
Lõputöö eesmärgiks oli hinnata Kohtla-Järve linna tänavate seisukorda. Lõputöö kirjutamise käigus külastas autor kõiki Kohtla-Järve linnaosasid ning sõitis läbi suurema osa Kohtla-Järve linnatänavatest. See andis võimaluse hinnata tänavate seisukorda ning täita lõputöö eesmärki. Käesolevas lõputöös uuris autor, milline on Kohtla-Järve linna tänavate seisund. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the condition of Kohtla-Järve city streets and to analyse its causes. While writing this thesis, the author visited all districts of Kohtla-Järve and travelled through most of the city streets. By doing that, it was possible to evaluate the street conditions and fulfil the aim of this thesis. In this thesis, the author analysed street conditions of Kohtla-Järve. The biggest problem of Kohtla-Järve streets is the old pavements which were built several years ago since the building materials have already become obsolete. The courtyard pavements are in such poor condition that most of them have become gravel roads. Most streets do not meet modern requirements. As we know, street conditions play a significant role in urban life, but according to the author's analysis, the city is unable to maintain its streets
