Electoral Fraud and Its Solutions from The Perspective of Islamic Politics in Yogyakarta: Penipuan Pilihan Raya dan Penyelesaiannya daripada Perspektif Politik Islam di Yogyakarta

Issues of fraud, injustice, and dishonesty in validating my electoral data from village to capital levels are increasingly urgent. This phenomenon stems from intense competition and the pursuit of popularity, undermining the integrity of the electoral process. This study examines electoral fraud in the 2019 elections, focusing on data invalidity in Wirokerten, Banguntapan, Bantul, and Yogyakarta. The subjects include village heads, election committee members, potential voters, former 2019 voters, and local communities selected based on gender and specific criteria. This qualitative case study utilised direct interviews and field observations, with data analysis following the Miles and Huberman method: reduction, display, and verification. The findings reveal fraud and ambiguity due to poor communication, lack of supervision, and the absence of Information Technology (IT) in vote counting. Issues such as missing ballot boxes and absentee committee members due to illness were also identified. Approximately 80% of the problems in Yogyakarta were related to electoral disputes. The study proposes a 2024 electoral strategy rooted in Islamic political values, emphasising candidate collaboration, mutual support, and IT utilisation, as implemented by Muhammadiyah during its 48th Congress. This approach aims to ensure elections that are legitimate, transparent, and trustworthy, guided by Islamic principles. Contribution: This study deepens the understanding of electoral fraud in Banguntapan, Yogyakarta, and offers strategies based on Islamic political values to enhance the legitimacy, trust, and transparency of elections in Indonesia

Knowledge about the zakat distribution method is a vital issue because it leaves an impact on the converts regarding fairness and satisfaction. The aim of the study is to analyze the zakat distribution method in the state of Selangor. In addition, the study is to delve into statistics in the form of assistance programs received by the converts in Selangor. The study employs a mixed method that incorporates both quantitative and qualitative studies. The quantitative study employs the questionnaire instrument to survey 454 converts in Selangor. Meanwhile, the qualitative study employs the library study. The findings of the study indicate that there are twelve zakat distribution methods. The study also shows statistics in the form of assistance programs received by converts. There are fifteen forms of aid received by converts. On the one hand, the highest forms of assistance received by converts are the hari raya allowance and monthly financial assistance, which amounted to 54.4% and 47.6%, respectively. On the other hand, the lowest form of assistance program is printing and publication assistance, which amounts to 7%. The implication signifies that the zakat distribution method is disseminated either in the form of money or services. Thus, the study finds that the zakat authority in Selangor has fairly distributed the funds among 1/8 of the zakat recipients

Humanism In Islamic Education: Indonesian References

In the context of nationality, the role of education is to prepare students to face the future and promote a sense of dignity among other nations. For Indonesia, humanistic values were incorporated and formulated into Pancasila, which is often referred to as humanistic-universalistic. This paper aims to review the formulation of national education goals that are in sync with the concept of universal humanistic education. It investigates an Islamic education as an integral part of Indonesian national education can achieve both national and humanistic education goals without contradicting each other or the teachings of Islam. The finding implies that orientation of the education system in Islamic educational institutions starts with a theocentric philosophy, which emphasises the importance of the afterlife over life in this world. Throughout the educational process, students intensively explore the comprehensive teachings and practices of Islam

Role of Islamic economic and finance in renewable energy: some quotation from Quranic verses and Indonesia experiences: Peranan ekonomi dan kewangan Islam dalam program-program tenaga boleh diperbaharui: beberapa petikan dari ayat-ayat al-Quran dan pengalaman Indonesia

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic economics and finance in renewable energy programmes in Indonesia. This research is qualitative descriptive research through library research and content analysis methods. The results show that the role of Islamic economics and finance in renewable energy programmes in Indonesia is realised in several forms. First, the sharia financial sector can be one of the options for renewable energy investment financing instruments. Second, the utilisation of renewable energy can be a supporter and spearhead of the halal industry. Third, in a religious social context, renewable energy financing can be done with the concepts of ta‘āwun and jāriyah alms through crowd funding and waqf. In order to optimise the role of sharia economy and finance in renewable energy programmes in Indonesia, several steps and activities that can be done include: (1) intensifying the campaign against the excellence of renewable energy; (2) providing easy access and renewable energy financing schemes; (3) conducting research and publication on renewable energy and potential collaboration with other industries in the halal value chain that can be perceived in Indonesia

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
