Economic Impacts of Rail Transit on Recreational Shore Communities: Case of the North Jersey Coast Line
This study estimated the impact of spending by North Jersey Coast Line (NJCL) riders during summer weekends on the economies of the Jersey Shore communities known for beach-oriented recreational activities. The NJCL is a commuter rail line that provides many workers with access to their workplaces on weekdays throughout the year. The line also provides a large number of recreational visitors from New York City and other parts of New Jersey with direct access to the Jersey Shore communities on summer weekends. To estimate the economic benefits to the shore communities from spending by NJCL riders on summer weekends, this study used a software program (R/ECON) regional input–output (I-O) model developed by the Rutgers Economic Advisory Service of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Visitor expenditure data from an onboard survey of NJCL riders were used as model inputs. The survey was conducted during the summer of 2013 and was completed by 2,241 riders returning from the shore area. The R/ECON I-O model provided estimates of economic benefits to the shore communities in terms of jobs, earnings, gross domestic product, state taxes, and local taxes. The model also generated return-on investment multipliers for these variables. The study showed that the 9 million in earnings, and more than $1 million in state taxes. Evaluating spatial equity in bike share systems
This research analyzes 10 of the largest third generation docked bike share systems in the United States along with 3 docked bike share systems in New Jersey. These bike share systems were carefully selected to reflect diversity in their size and age, and their host region’s size and geography as well as data availability.This report was developed by the New Jersey Bicycle and Pedestrian Resource Center within the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The research team included Charles T. Research Approach Learning Through Work Poster In Introduce Content GlobalizationOn Civics Lesson For Students Grade IV SD 1 Ngembalrejo Interest problem in this researchthere are three that are the focus does skills of teachers in managing learning civics with posterwork approach in the introduction of globalization for students SD 1 Ngembalrejo Kudus,Knowing students' activity in learning civics with the approach of the work of the posters in theintroduction of globalization for elementary students SD 1 Ngembalrejo Kudus, Exposing thelearning outcomes of students in learning civics approach works poster in the introduction ofglobalization for elementary students 1 Ngembalrejo.Results of action research showed an increase learning outcomes Civics approaches tolearning through the work of the poster to introduce the material globalization. Improvedlearning outcomes is proved by research data cycle I and cycle II. This is evidenced by theincrease in the average value of pre cycle class until the second cycle. The value in the pre-cycleevaluation results using data from test scores were pure. Based on these data, the known valueof the average student with classical completeness 60.45 40.91%, there were 13 students whohave not completed and 9 students who pass. Teachers' teaching skills in managing the class oncivics learning approaches to learning through the work of the poster to introduce the materialin the first cycle of globalization gained 80.17% in the percentage of both criteria, on thesecond cycle increased to 84.91% with good criterion. Activities of students in participatingCivics Education materials globalization approaches to learning through the work of the posterto introduce the material in the first cycle of globalization gained 75.28% at both criteria,increased in the second cycle into 84.66% are in the very good Civics criteria approachlearning through the work of the poster to introduce the material globalization can improvelearning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The increase in the cognitiveaspects seen in the first cycle to the second cycle is the average value of 69.55 rose to 77.05, theaspect of affective seen from the first cycle to the second cycle of 62.5% ie sufficient criteriarose to 84.43%, with good criterion, while the aspect of psychomotor seen the first cycle to thesecond cycle of 56.02% is sufficient criteria increased to 84.21% at both criteria
Budaya organisasi Untuk Meningkatkan Profesionalisme Guru di Sekolah
Budaya organisasi sesungguhnya tidak lepas dari konsep dasar tentang budaya itu sendiri, yang merupakan salah satu terminologi yang banyak digunakan dalam bidang antropologi. Dewasa ini, dalam pandangan antropologi sendiri, konsep budaya ternyata telah mengalami pergeseran makna, dulu orang berpendapat budaya meliputi segala manifestasi dari kehidupan manusia yang berbudi luhur dan yang bersifat rohani, seperti : agama, kesenian, filsafat, ilmu pengetahuan, tata negara dan sebagainya. Tetapi pendapat tersebut sudah sejak lama disingkirkan. Dewasa ini budaya diartikan sebagai manifestasi kehidupan setiap orang dan setiap kelompok orang-orang. Dalam budaya organisasi ditandai adanya sharing atau berbagi nilai dan keyakinan yang sama dengan seluruh anggota organisasi. Empat alternatif pendekatan terhadap manajemen budaya organisasi, yaitu : (1) lupakan kultu, (2) kendalikan disekitarnya, (3) upayakan untuk mengubah unsur-unsur kultur agar cocok dengan strategi, dan (4) uabah strategi.
Karakteristik budaya organisasi di sekolah, yaitu tentang (1) observal behavioral regularitles; (2) norms; (3) philosophy; (5) rules dan (6)organization climate. Karakteristik tersebut sangat menunjang untuk peningkatan profesionalitas Guru di sekolah. Budaya organisasi di sekolah berkorelasi dengan peningkatan motivasi dan prestasi belajar siswa serta kepuasan kerja dan profesionalisme guru. Berkaitan dengan kompetensi Guru yaitu Profesionalisme
PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN KONTEKSTUAL DALAM MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN KEWARGANEGARAAN KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 39 SEMARANG
Penerapan Pembelajaran Kontekstual dalam Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan kelas VII SMP Negeri 39 Semarang.Latar belakang dipilihnya judul tersebut bahwa sistem pembelajaran yang ada hanya menekankan pada aspek kognitif sedangkan aspek psikomotor dan afektif masih belum menonjol untuk itu perlu diterapkan pembelajaran kontekstual yang menekankan ketiga aspek tersebut.Permasalahan : Bagaimana penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan kelas VII SMP N 39 Semarang, Tujuan penelitian : untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual oleh guru PKnJenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan lokasi penelitian di SMP N 39 Semarang. Fokus penelitian adalah 1) penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual yang didalamnya meliputi tujuh komponen utama yaitu kontruktivisme, menemukan ,bertanya, masyarakat belajar ,pemodelan ,refleksi ,penilaian sebenarnya.Metode pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi.Teknik analisis data dengan pengumpulan data,reduksi data,penyajian data kemudian menarik kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual mata pelajaran PKn kelas VII SMP N 39 Semarang sesuai dengan tujuh komponen pembelajaran kontekstual..Kesimpulan : Penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan kelas VII SMP N 39 Semarang telah dilakukan sesuai dengan tujuh komponen pokok pembelajaran kontekstual namun dalam penerapanya masih terdapat hambatan yaitu kurangnya alokasi waktu,keterlambatan peserta didik dalam mengumpulkan tugas,kurangnya sarana dan prasarana,biaya yang mahal dalam penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual.Kata kunci: pembelajaran kontekstua

The flood is a significant disaster in various countries; the significant impacts of flooding includes loss of human life, property damage, destruction of crops, loss of livestock, and deterioration of health conditions due to waterborne diseases. The communication links and infrastructure such as power plants, roads, and bridges are damaged and disrupted, some economic activities may come to a standstill. People are forced to leave their homes, and everyday life is disrupted. So, to manage this kind of disaster is a critical task for human civilization. Flood management is a significant part of solving this problem.

Pembudayaan nilai pendidikan pada upacara bersih sendang dhewot dan sendang gading (studi kasus di sd 1 wonosoco)
Penelitian ini merupakan kajian pelestarian budaya di salah satu desa terpencil di Kabupaten Kudus. Desa Wonosoco berada di deretan lembah pegunungan perbatasan kota Kudus, Grobogan dan Pati. Salah satu bentuk budaya masyarakat yang terus dilestarikan adalah upacara bersih sendang. Namun nilai sosial budaya bersih sendang masih belum diterjemahkan di dunaia pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali persepsi siswa Sekolah Dasar mengenai pelestarian tradisi di wilayah Wonosoco Undaan Kudus. Tradisi bersih sendang yaitu sendang dhewot dan sendang gading merupakan tradisi tahunan yang dilaksanakan sebagai wujud syukur terpenuhinya sumber mata air di wilayah Wonosoco. Tradisi bersih sendang akan dibarengi dengan pementasanWayang klithik menjadi unsur budaya pagelaran yang diakui sebagai sajian perayaan tradisi dengan menyematkan norma social Jawa. Interaksi social masa lampau dalam upacara bersih sendang merupakan wujud pemenuhan kebutuhan manusia dengan yang maha kuasa. Pemaknaan terhadap budaya masa lampau sebagai bentuk pembelajaran masa kini menjadi fenomena hidup yang terenkulturasi dalam jiwa individu. Siswa yang mampu menguasai budaya merupakan upaya pembentuk perilaku. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi literature, observasi langsung, indepth interview, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan observasi lapangan, wawancara tokoh masyarakat, guru dan siswa, dokumentasi literature dan foto. Teknik analisis data dengan analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk pendidikan masyarakat dalam tradisi bersih sendang masyarakat Wonosoco dapat teridentifikasi dalam perilaku anak di lingkungan sekolah dasar antara lain: pemaknaan nilai tradisi bersih sendang, keikutsertaan dan pelibatan anak dalam prosesi bersih sendang, eksplorasi nilai sosial bersih sendang, dan internalisasi dalam sikap sosial, serta pelestarian eksistensi tradisi melalui media pendidikan bagi anak. Persepsi sosial yang terbentuk dalam tradisi bersih sendang dapat teridentifikasi dalam perilaku anak di lingkungan SD 1 Wonosoco yaitu adanya pendekatan budaya dan religi terhadap pelestarian lingkungan, penerapan karakteristik lingkungan sebagai basic sosial dalam melakukan internalisasi nilai, konservasi lingkungan untuk menjaga keberlangsungan kehidupan sosial masyarakat Wonosoco.
