    Phyllophaga (Cnemarachis) guanahacabibensis Serrano & Morón, new species (Figs. 1–4) Type series. Holotype male and 1 paratype male labeled: “ CUBA: Pinar del Río Prov. / La Bajada. Reserva de la Biosfera Guanahacabibes / deciduous forest, 10 m, collected at light / 21.922424°N, - 84.475688°W / 25-VII-2015; A. Serrano, G. Molina, S. González. Both the holotype and paratype are deposited at MFP. Diagnosis. Length 12.3 mm, width 5.5 mm. Dorsal surface shiny, without pruinosity; head brown, pronotum and elytra yellowish castaneous; anterior clypeal margin sinuate; antennal club much shorter than funicle and scape; pronotal lateral margin entire; prosternum without obtuse postcoxal projection; metasternum glabrous, fifth abdominal sternite pruinose with some scattered setae; pygidial disc glabrous; male genitalia as in Figs. 2–3. Holotype description. Head: Surface densely punctate with deep, well-defined punctures; glabrous. Clypeus with apex reflexed, clearly sinuate at middle; densely punctate. Frontoclypeal suture well defined. Frons densely punctate. Labrum bicallose, the callosities irregularly punctate and setose. Antennae with 9 antennomeres; terminal 3 forming club, club less than half the length of funicle and scape; club, funicle, and scape shiny and setose. Pronotum: Surface moderately punctate with deep, well-defined punctures. Punctures less deep and less dense than those on head, glabrous. Anterior angles weakly acute; lateral margins entire (not crenulate), widest medially. Elytra: Yellowish castaneous, with suture broadly dark. Surface moderately to densely punctate with shallow, well-defined punctures; shiny, appearing largely glabrous, but with some scattered setae. Striae weakly defined. Legs: Protibia with 3 teeth, 2nd tooth closer to apical tooth. Mesotibiae and metatibiae without medial transverse carinae, longitudinal carina complete; with some spines on lateral margin, especially in mesotibia and less so with shorter spines in metatibia. Metatibial spurs unmodified, shorter spur approximately 3/4 length of longer spur. Longer spur almost twice length of first tarsomere. Claws: symmetrical with medial triangular tooth slightly directed to the base, apex curved and slender. Venter: Prosternum without projection behind procoxae. Metasternum weakly setose with scarce and short setae, without pruinosity. Surface moderately punctate. Abdominal sternites shiny without pruinosity, punctures less dense but deeper than those of metasternum, surface glabrous. Pygidium: Yellowish dark brown, with surface densely punctate with large, shallow, well-defined punctures; glabrous except with scattered setae apically. Male genitalia: Phallobase enlarged and strongly projecting, parameres with large preapical prominences, aedeagus with horn like dorsal structures and numerous apical stout bristles (Figs. 2–3). Variation. Paratype length 12.4 mm, width 5.5 mm. Female unknown. Etymology. Named for the locality in where it occurs. Guanahacabibes is an indigenous precolumbian name that has survived. We do not know what this word means but this area was home of indigenous groups with similar name: Guanahatabeyes. Distribution (Fig. 4). CUBA: Pinar de Río Prov. Biosphera Reserve Guanahacabibes. Biological data. Two specimens were collected at a light trap during July in a tropical deciduous forest located at 10 m in elevation. Remarks. This species keys to couplet 31 in Chapin (1932) but does not match the description or genitalic illustrations of either Phyllophaga microsoma Chapin, 1932 or P. bruneri Chapin, 1932. Similar to P. bruneri and P. suturalis (Chevrolat, 1835), except darker and elytral suture margin less broad. Body larger than P. bruneri and has a proportionally larger head.     Phyllophaga (Cnemarachis) pauli Serrano & Morón, new species (Figs. 5–10) Type series. Holotype male and 8 paratypes (3 males, 5 females) labeled: “ CUBA: Pinar del Río Prov. / Soroa, La Caridad / evergreen forest, collected at light / 22.794838°N, -83.004401°W / 6-7/V/2015; A. Serrano, P. Sosa / 11/ VI/2016. Holotype male, one male paratype, and two females paratypes deposited in MFP. Two male paratypes and three female paratypes deposited in IESH. Diagnosis. Length 12.6 mm, width 6.6 mm. Head shiny, dark brown to almost black, with elytra pruinose, red; abdominal sternites dull and pruinose laterally, glabrous medially; pygidial disc moderately setose; male genitalia as in Figs. 6–8. Female genitalia as in Fig. 9. Holotype description. Head: Surface densely punctate shiny, reddish dark brown. Clypeus strongly bilobed, with apex strongly reflexed, especially at middle; sinuate with middle distinctly shorter than sides; punctate. Frontoclypeal suture distinct, clypeus and frons on same plane. Frons less densely punctate than clypeus. Antennae with 9 antennomeres, terminal 3 forming club; club about 1/3 length of funicle and scape, shiny and very setose. Pronotum: Surface glabrous, less densely punctate than clypeus, punctures shallow but well defined. Anterior angles weakly acute; lateral margins entire, widest medially. Shiny dark reddish brown as clypeus. Elytra: Surface pruinose with lustrous spots on humeral calli and posterior calli, moderately to densely and distinctly punctate, some punctures with a single seta. Elytral apex deeply rounded. Legs: Protibia with 3 teeth, 2nd tooth closer to apical tooth more robust than 1st. The 3rd tooth noticeable but not well developed. Mesotibiae and metatibiae without medial transverse carinae, both with some spines on lateral margin. Metatibial spurs unmodified, shorter spur approximately 2/3 length of longer spur. Longer spur slightly longer than first tarsomere. Claws: symmetrical with medial triangular tooth robust, well developed; apex unmodified but very curved and sharp. Venter: Prosternum, mesosternum, and metasternum pruinose except for shiny medial patch. Abdominal sternites with dull and pruinose laterally and shiny medially. Pygidium: Surface weakly shiny except near borders where it is pruinose; strongly punctate with medium-size, well-defined punctures; glabrous except with scattered setae apically, with same color as head. Male genitalia: Phallobase enlarged and strongly projected; parameres with narrow, elongate preapical prominences; aedeagus wide, with sclerotized, curved dorsal structures and numerous preapical spines (Figs. 6–8). Variation. Male length 12.6–12.7 mm, width 6.5–6.7mm. Female externally similar to male except shinier (less pruinose); frons less punctate; elytral coarsely, deeply, densely punctate, punctures sometimes coalescent; genital plates as in Fig. 9. Distribution (Fig. 10). CUBA: Pinar de Río Province in Sierra del Rosario, Soroa. Biological data. Specimens were collected at light trap during May in evergreen forest located at about 500– 600 m in elevation. Etymology. This species is named in honor of Paul Sosa, in appreciation of his collegiality during the field expedition and for his extensive knowledge of Cuban wildlife and collecting sites. Remarks. Phyllophaga pauli keys to couplet 23 in Chapin (1932) but does not share any of the characteristics of either P. alquizara Chapin, 1932 or P. aeruginosa (Burmeister, 1855). It also resembles P. perfidia Smith & Paulsen, 2015 externally, but is smaller and redder.     Phyllophaga (Cnemarachis) sabanalamarensis Serrano & Morón, new species (Figs. 11–17) Type series. Body large, stout, slightly depressed, glabrous; pronotal disc shiny black or dark brown with yellow lateral borders. Elytra shiny, yellowish brown. Clypeus with anterior margin widely rounded, briefly sinuate medially; antennal club much shorter than funicle and scape; lateral pronotal margin entire; prosternum with obtuse postcoxal projection; metasternum setose, abdominal sternites shiny, without pruinosity, with scattered setae; pygidial disc glabrous; male genitalia as in Figs 12–16. Holotype description. Head: Black, surface densely punctate with fine, deep, and well-defined punctures; glabrous. Eye canthus with many stout setae. Clypeus with apical margin rounded briefly sinuate at middle, and slightly reflexed; densely and finely punctate. Frontoclypeal suture well defined. Frons densely punctate as clypeus, not tuberculate. Antennae with 9 antennomeres, with terminal 3 forming club; club short, compact, 1/3 length of funicle and scape; club, funicle, and scape shiny and glabrous except scape with a lateral row of fine and slender setae. Pronotum: Wide, not strongly convex, with disc black disk and lateral margins yellow. Surface sparsely punctate with small and shallow punctures; glabrous. Anterior angles weakly acute; lateral margins entire (not crenulate) emarginate, widest at medial point but rounded and not angulate. Surface shiny and mostly glabrous, except for a few slender setae on lateral and anterior margins. Posterior angles rounded. Elytra: Uniformly colored with surface moderately to densely punctate with shallow punctures; shiny, largely glabrous. Sutural striae well defined, discal striae weak. Legs: Protibia with 3 equidistant teeth, 3rd shorter than 2nd. Mesotibiae and metatibiae without medial tranverse carinae, with spines on lateral margin, and lateral row of slender setae. Metatibial spurs unmodified, shorter spur approximately half the length of longer spur. Longer spur nearly as long as first tarsomere. Claws: symmetrical with medial triangular tooth, apex curved and sharply pointed. Venter: Prosternum without obtuse postcoxal projection. Metasternum densely and uniformly clad with long setae, without pruinosity. Sparsely punctate, punctures small and shallow as on prosternum. Abdominal sternites weakly shiny, without pruinosity, less densely punctate than metasternum; surface glabrous. Pygidium: Surface densely punctate with small, shallow, well-defined punctures; glabrous except with scattered setae apically; shiny, without pruinosity; yellowish light brown. Male genitalia: Phallobase widened, rounded, parameres short, with nearly truncate apex; aedeagus wide, with tube-like, sclerotized support and numerous preapical spines. Asymmetrical, with phallobase notch to the left of the midline and basal aedeagus claw curved to right (Figs. 12–15). Variation. Female length 24.3–24.45 mm, width 12.0– 12.2 mm. Similar to male except: frons more densely punctate, clypeus less rounded and more emarginate. Genital plates as in Fig. 16. Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the type locality "Sabanalamar". Distribution (Fig. 17). CUBA: Sabanalamar. Pinar de Río Province. Biological data. Specimens were collected at light trap during May in savanna located at 10 m in elevation. Remarks. This species keys to couplet 10 in Chapin (1932) and is similar to P. baracoana in length, lateral margins of pronotum entire, elytra sutural margin tumid and elevated, and aedeagus asymmetrical but does not match other aspects of the description or genitalic illustration. Phyllophaga sabanalamarensis differs on other aspects of P. baracoana description such as the pronotum coloration, slightly flattened body dorsoventrally, and aedeagus structure. Phyllophaga baracoana has phallobase notch of aedeagus to the right of the midline and two basal aedeagal claws.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
