Data were collected by using observation with VAS and VAAPS, also took venous blood sampling for laboratory test of cortisol serum. Data were analyzed by using paired t-test and independent t-test. Result and Analysis: The results showed that: 1) Score of VAS in intervention group was less than control group (p= 0,000), 2) Score of VAAPS in intervention group was less than control group (p=0,000), 3) There was no significant differences cortisol level between intervention group and control group (p=0,305). Discuss and Conclusion:Music therapy could reduce pain and anxiety, but could not reduce levelof cortisol in primigravida during active phase of first stage labor.Further research, music therapy should be given from third trimester in order to relaxation effect of music therapy can be felt by the mother during labor.

Correlation between Menstrual Pain and Level of Cortisol among Nursing Student of Nahdlatul Ulama University, Surabaya
Background: The stress faced by the final student due to the demands of completing a thesis on time triggers the activation of the HPA axis so that it can increase the secretion of the cortisol produced by the adrenal cortex. Increased cortisol secretion increases uterine muscle contraction thereby aggravating menstrual pain. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between cortisol levels and menstrual pain in nursing students of Nahdlatul Ulama University, Surabaya (UNUSA).Methods: This study is an analytic observational with cross sectional approach. Population of this study were all nursing students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The subjects of this study were 46 people selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected through observations with VAS and cortisol laboratory results. Data were analyzed by using Spearman rank test. Results: The results showed that: 1) All students experience menstrual pain 2) Cortisol levels in all students are still in the normal range 3) There is a correlation between cortisol levels with menstrual pain (p = 0.009).Conclusion: Increasing cortisol levels are followed by aggravating menstrual pain. The independent variable in this study was the application of DSME, the dependent variable in this study was the motivation of patients to prevent recurrence and complications of DM disease. Data analysis using the Mann Withney test.
The results showed that the motivation of the treatment group before being given DSME had a good value of 0% where the value was smaller than the value of motivation after the respondent was given DSME that is equal to 60%. While the motivation of the control group when the initial observation has a good value of 0% and when the final observation has a good value of 10%. The increase in motivation value increased smaller than the assessment of the motivation value of the treatment group,whichwas60%.
DSME application increases patient motivation in preventing recurrence and complications of diabetes mellitus. DSME can be used as a health promotion program to improve self-care capabilities of DM patients
