학위논문(석사) - 한국과학기술원 : 나노과학기술학제전공, 2009. 8., [ viii, 51 p. ]In this work, we proposed and investigated the large-displacement electromagnetic actuators using the meander springs partially exposed to magnetic field for optical applications. The present actuator is proposed by partial exposure of meander springs to magnetic field for adopting the meander springs with low spring constant in the limited area of structure under the magnetic field generated by the two layers of ring type permanent magnets. Compared to previous electromagnetic actuators, present method enables low spring constant to obtain large-displacement.
The prototype F with meander springs which are exposed to magnetic force that can generate Lorentz force along the direction of displacement, and the prototype B with meander springs which are exposed to magnetic force that can generate Lorentz force along and against the direction of displacement were designed and fabricated to experimentally verify the difference of performance.
In the experimental study, the prototype was fabricated by the single mask fabrication process using SOI wafer. As experimental results, the prototype F, compare to the prototype B, increased by 18.4 ~ 21.5 % of amplitude in low frequency actuation, and increased by 20.0 ~ 51.9 % of amplitude in resonant frequency actuation, respectively.
In this thesis, we experimentally verified the large-displacement actuation capability of the present electromagnetic actuators for the optical applications such as camera phone shutters, optical choppers and optical attenuators.한국과학기술원 : 나노과학기술학제전공

표면 형상 측정기
A surface shape measuring device includes a substrate, an electrode portion including at least one electrode pattern, the electrode pattern extending on the substrate, a coating layer on the substrate to cover the electrode pattern, and a detector electrically connected to the electrode pattern and detecting a change in a physical quantity of the electrode pattern generated by the deformation of the substrate or the coating layer by an external load applied thereto

학위논문(박사) - 한국과학기술원 : 바이오및뇌공학과, 2018.2,[vii, 70 p. :]We have designed, fabricated and tested piezoelectric resonating actuators for tactile stimulation. The piezoelectric resonating tactile stimulators are composed of 3×4 stimulating dot arrays with air chambers. The piezoelectric resonating tactile stimulators use indirect piezoelectric actuation for tactile stimulation, by including specially designed polyimide air chambers on the piezoelectric polymer (polyvinylidene fluoride, PVDF) films. The air chambers on the PVDF films enhance stimulus by reducing the stiffness of total structure, smaller than that of the conventional direct piezoelectric actuation without air chambers. The piezoelectric resonating tactile stimulators are fabricated and characterized. The stimulators achieve the output displacement of 257.0 ± 1.5 nm, the output pressure of , and the response time of 0.7 ms when the input voltage of (52.5 kHz) is switched at 2 ms intervals (250 Hz), thereby 273.7 % stimulus enhancement compared to the conventional direct piezoelectric actuation. It has been experimentally demonstrated that the proposed piezoelectric resonating actuators are capable of stimulating human skin to support tactile or braille displays integrated into tactile interface systems.한국과학기술원 :바이오및뇌공학과
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
