    Balfour, Castro

Sebastian Balfour analyzes Fidel Castro in terms of the historical context from which the Cuban leader emerged and the political context in which this dynamic individual became a widely recognized world figure. Balfour uses secondary materials as diverse as files of the Museo de las Clandestinidad in Santiago and a T.V. interview with Barbara Walters to argue that Castro was motivated by national ideals rather than ideological goals in his pursuit of liberty and social justice for his native Cuba

Sobre a recepción e fortuna crítica do chamado “Conto gallego” de Rosalía de Castro

    No full text
No artigo ofrécese unha completa revisión das valoracións e lecturas que sobre el se teñen feito, como exemplo da reavaliación crítica a que foi submetida a obra rosaliana nos últimos trinta anos.[Abstract]: For years, scholars have argued over the authorship of Rosalía de Castro’s only narrative prose text in Galician, her so-called Conto Gallego (‘A Galician Tale’). The confusion with regard to the identity of its author, due in part to problems in relation to how the text was originally transmitted, has led to its frequent omission from de Castro’s bibliography and a tendency to be overlooked by scholars of her work. This article proposes a complete reassessment and revision of the tale, as part of the critical reappraisal of de Castro’s writing over the past thirty years
