MAGAZINE SALES PROMOTION: A DYNAMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS
No full textThis paper studies the impact and effectiveness of a type of non-price promotion often used in the European periodical magazines industry to stimulate sales, in which a value pack is sold containing the magazine issue plus another product. Magazines are sold simultaneously with and without promotion at different prices, and promotions are serialized by fractioning the additional product across different issues of the magazine. We find that promoted magazines contemporarily cannibalize non-promoted sales; but this loss is compensated by a medium term increase of non-promoted sales. These results show that this sales promotion strategy is an effective way to diminish the decline rate of periodical sales.

Novas cláusulas tributárias na Constituição
No full textStarting from an extended process of fiscal deficits and very important public indebtedness, we notice the beginning of a process of incorporation of constitutional provisions to reverse this reality. After analyzing the problems and the main solutions of comparative law, the author concludes on the convenience of incorporating this type of clauses, though defined with interdisciplinary approaches. He ends up facing the problems implied in the compatibility of human rights with fiscal balance.Partiendo de un proceso extendido de déficits fiscales y endeudamientos públicos muy importantes, se advierte el inicio de un proceso de incorporación de previsiones en las constituciones para revertir esta realidad. Luego de analizar el problema y las principales soluciones del derecho comparado, el autor concluye en la conveniencia de incorporar este tipo de cláusulas, pero definidas con enfoques interdisciplinarios. Termina enfrentando los problemas que la compatibilización de los derechos humanos con el equilibrio fiscal implica.A partir de um processo extenso de déficits fiscais e endividamento público muito importante, nota-se o início de um processo de incorporação de dispositivos nas constituições para reverter essa realidade. Depois de analisar o problema e as principais soluções do direito comparado, o autor conclui que é aconselhável incorporar esses tipos de cláusulas, mas definidas com abordagens interdisciplinares. Local dramaturgy and global displacement: El Pasaje by Carlos Alsina
No full textCarlos Alsina desarrolla una prolífica carrera como dramaturgo en Tucumán, provincia del noroeste de Argentina y, al mismo tiempo, sostiene una fluida relación de intercambio artístico con Europa. Desde la comparatística teatral, nos interesa com prender cómo la obra El pasaje se inscribe en un proyecto dramatúrgico provincial y, a su vez, acompaña el constante despla zamiento del autor. El drama propone una recreación del mito clásico del viaje al Más Allá, que forma parte del horizonte global y, sobre este esquema, monta una crítica a la repetición, atenta a la historia de Tucumán, que inaugura la diferencia local.Carlos Alsina develops a prolific career as a playwright in Tucumán, province of northwestern Argentina, and, simultaneously, he maintains a fluid artistic interchange with Europe. From the comparative theater, it interests us to understand how the play El pasaje is part of a provincial dramaturgical project and, at the same time, accompanies the constant displacement by the author. inserido pela Reforma Trabalhista perante os pressupostos das relações de emprego, da
não eventualidade e subordinação. Em 11 de novembro de 2017 a Lei 13.467 de 13 de
julho de 2017 denominada como Reforma Trabalhista passou a vigorar, tal lei trouxe
consideráveis alterações à Consolidação das Leis Trabalhista (Lei 5.452/43).
É importante analisar esse novo regime tendo em vista algumas controvérsias
geradas com a inclusão dessa nova forma de relação de emprego. Foi usado o método dedutivo e no final conclui-se, entretanto, que o trabalho intermitente configura relação
de emprego segundo os requisitos da Consolidação das Leis Trabalhistas, no entanto as
dúvidas geradas pela nova lei irão ser solucionadas e adaptadas somente com o tempo e
a prática trabalhista com base nos novos conflitos que serão gerados pelas relações de
trabalho intermitente que irão ajustar a nova lei à realidade do trabalhador brasileiro.The present work aims to analyze the intermittent work inserted by the Labor
Reform before the assumptions of employment relations, non eventuality and
subordination. On November 11, 2017, Law 13,467 of July 13, 2017, entitled Labor
Reform became effective, this law brought considerable changes to the Consolidation of
Labor Laws (Law 5,452 / 43).
It is important to analyze this new regime face some controversies generated by
the inclusion of this new form of employment relationship. The deductive method was
used and, in the end, the conclusion is that intermittent work configures the employment
relationship according to the requirements of the Consolidation of Labor Laws, however
the doubts created by the new law will be solved and adapted only through time and labor
practice based on the new conflicts that will be occur by the intermittent labor relations
that will adjust the new law to the reality of the Brazilian worker.21 f
