No full textEntrevista realizada em 21 e 22 de setembro de 2012, quando da vinda do Grupo Corpo a Porto Alegre, como parte de sua turnê nacional. Constituiu instrumento de pesquisa na dissertação de mestrado do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Cênicas da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul: “COREOGRAFIA ‘21’ DO GRUPO CORPO: 21 percepções sobre o processo de criação cênica”. Acomodados nas poltronas da plateia do Teatro do SESI, enquanto os bailarinos faziam aula no palco, o entrevistado e a autora aprofundam o objeto de estudo (o processo coreográfico do balé “21”) e visitam outros temas que mostram alguns pontos de vista do coreógrafo do Grupo Corpo, Rodrigo Pederneiras. O homem e o monumento : criações e recriações de Rodrigo Melo Franco de Andrade
No full textA tese estuda os processos de construção e reconstrução de Rodrigo Melo Franco de Andrade como homem-monumento ao longo do tempo. O personagem foi o primeiro diretor do Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN), instituição federal criada em 1936 para selecionar e proteger o patrimônio cultural brasileiro. Rodrigo permaneceu no cargo durante 30 anos e sua gestão tornou-se conhecida como a “fase heroica” da instituição. O trabalho divide-se em quatro capítulos e busca analisar as diferentes formações discursivas relacionadas ao diretor, investigando, primeiramente, sua escolha para a direção da instituição, sua progressiva identificação com a mesma e a formação de uma rede de colaboradores e funcionários. Em seguida, examina diferentes homenagens prestadas a Rodrigo e ao IPHAN nas comemorações de 20, 25 e 30 anos de existência da instituição, além da concessão de quatro títulos Honoris Causa e Suplementos Literários dedicados a celebrar os 70 anos do primeiro diretor do órgão federal. No terceiro capítulo, partindo de 1969, ano de seu falecimento, a tese problematiza uma série de publicações a ele dedicadas, em especial “A lição de Rodrigo”, de 1969, e os livros “Rodrigo e seus tempos” e “Rodrigo e o SPHAN”, de 1986 e 1987, respectivamente. As três obras são compreendidas como documentos-monumentos que fundamentaram a imagem do personagem a partir de uma perspectiva institucional. Finalmente, são investigados os usos das imagens de Rodrigo Melo Franco de Andrade em dissertações e teses relacionadas ao campo do patrimônio cultural brasileiro entre 1989 e 2012.The thesis studies the processes of construction and reconstruction of Rodrigo Melo Franco de Andrade as monument-man throughout time. The character was the first director of the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional/National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN), federal institution created in 1936 to select and protect the Brazilian cultural heritage. Rodrigo remained director during 30 years and his management has been known as the institution’s “heroic phase”. The study is divided in four chapters and aims to analyze the different discursive formations related to the director, investigating, firstly, his choice for the institution direction, his progressive identification with it and the formation of a network of collaborators and staff. Then the thesis examines different tributes paid to Rodrigo and IPHAN during the celebrations of the institution's 20th, 25th and 30th anniversary, and the awarding of four titles of Honorary Degree and Literary Supplements dedicated to celebrating the 70th anniversary of the first director of the federal agency.Following, starting from 1969, year of his death, the thesis problematizes a series of publications dedicated to the first director, specially “A lição de Rodrigo”, de 1969, and the books “Rodrigo e seus tempos” e “Rodrigo e o SPHAN”, de 1986 e 1987, respectively. The three publications are understood as documents-monuments that fundament the director’s images from an institutional perspective. Finally, the thesis investigates the uses of Rodrigo Melo Franco de Andrade’s images in dissertations and theses related to the field of Brazilian cultural heritage between 1989 and 2012
Techno-economic Analysis of Fermentation-Based Biorefinery: Creating Value from Food Residues
No full textThe present manuscript highlights the economic profit increase when combining organic waste anaerobic digestion with other mixed culture anaerobic fermentation technologies, e.g., lactic acid fermentation and dark fermentation. Here we consider the conversion of 50 t/day of food waste into methane, power generation (from CHP of biomethane), lactic acid, polylactic acid, hydrogen, acetic acid, and butyric acid. The economic assessment shows that the basic alternative, i.e., anaerobic digestion with methane selling to the grid, generates 19 USD/t_VS (3 USD/t_foodwaste) of profit. The highest profit is obtained by dark fermentation with separation and purification of acetic and butyric acids, i.e., 296 USD/t_VS (47 USD/t_foodwaste). The only alternative that presented losses is the power generation alternative, needing tipping fees and/or subsidy of 176 USD/t_VS (29 USD/t_foodwaste). The rest of the alternatives generate profit. From the return on investment (ROI) and payback time, the best scenario is the production of polylactic acid, with 98% ROI and 7.8 years payback time. Production of butyric acid ROI and payback time was 74% and 9.1 years

Pyrolysis Kinetics of Arid-Land Biomasses
No full textBiomass availability in arid regions is challenging due to limited arable land and lack of freshwater. In this study, we focus on pyrolysis of two biomasses that are typically abundant agricultural biomasses in arid regions, focusing on understanding the reaction rates and Arrhenius kinetic parameters that describe the pyrolysis reactions of halophyte Salicornia bigelovii and date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) and co-pyrolysis biomass using thermogravimetric analysis under non-isothermal conditions. The mass loss data obtained from thermogravimetric analysis of S. bigelovii and date palm revealed the reaction rate peaked between 592 and 612 K for P. dactylifera leaves and 588 and 609 K for S. bigelovii at heating rates, 5, 10, and 15 K/min during the active pyrolysis phase. The activation energies for S. bigelovii and P. dactylifera leaves during this active pyrolysis phase were estimated using the Kissinger method as 147.6 and 164.7 kJ/mol, respectively, with pre-exponential factors of 3.13 × 10 9/min and 9.55 × 10 10/min for the respective biomasses. Other isoconversional models such as the Flynn-Wall-Ozawa were used to determine these kinetic parameters during other phases of the pyrolysis reaction and gave similar results.</p
