No full textRichiamando le linee generali del rinnovato interesse da parte della geografia per il paesaggio e l’incidenza diretta che le nuove politiche rivolte alla sua tutela e valorizzazione adducono sulla prassi territoriale, viene delineato un percorso teso a rappresentarlo cartograficamente, dopo aver cercato di fornire una definizione, tra le tante possibili in virtù della sua riconosciuta polisemia, tale da essere considerata la più adatta per una oggettivazione bidimensionale di una strutturata complessità. Una soluzione mista, tesa in parte a spiegare razionalmente e in parte a provocare la comprensione dei fatti intangibili, è stata quella prescelta e adottata, di cui si è fornito un esempio applicato sperimentalmente nel caso della pianificazione su base paesaggistica sviluppata in un comune della Sardegna Centro-Orientale

No full textThis paper focuses on possible research paths which can be useful to discover the historical value of the places where vines are present in Sardinia with a view to their possible exploitation as a form of traditional cultivation which carries strong values of identity. The analysis is based on a method that takes into account earlier large scale mapping of the island, the technical and structural characteristics of those documents and the demands of relating the information they contain to current representation used in planning at a regional and local level. With the more general perspective to valorize landscapes and following map making procedures, the idea is to encourage the conservation of traditional aspects of the landscapes in exceptionally suitable and fertile territories. It is no coincidence that we have chosen a location in Sardinia with a historical reputation for its production of wine: Dorgali, situated in the centre of the eastern coast of Sardinia

No full textThe endothelium plays a crucial role in the maintenance of vascular tone and
structure. One of the major endothelium-derived vasoactive mediators is nitric oxide
(NO), which is formed from the aminoacid precursor L-arginine by nitric oxide
synthase (NOS). NO is involved in a wide variety of regulatory mechanisms of the
cardiovascular system.Dysfunction of the endothelial L-arginine-nitric oxide pathway is a common
mechanism by which several cardiovascular risk factors mediate their deleterious
effects on the vascular wall. Recently, several studies have suggested that asymmetric
dimethylarginine (ADMA) as an endogenous inhibitor of NOS. Therefore,
measurement of arginine and its methyl derivatives in biological samples may expand
knowledge on the role of these compounds in the pathophysiological mechanisms
involved in atherosclerosis.For these reasons, the purpose of this study, has been the development of new and
rapid CE methods for the quantification of ADMA, symmetric dimethylarginine
(SDMA), and arginine in plasma (free) and incorporated into proteins in capillary
zonal electrophoresis. This assay is able to provide results quickly, but at the same
time it is economic, reliable, reproducible and applicable in the field of biochemical,
clinical and research

No full textThe tourism wellness industry is a rapidly growing sector facing a number of challenges in today’s fast-paced world, where people are looking for solutions to their wellness needs. Management of this demand requires the implementation of a robust strategy in order to maximise profitability and customer experience. This study considers the application of yield management as a suitable approach, which is tested in this case in day spas as part of the wellness industry. The viability of yield management in this field is investigated using a case study approach, considering particularly the conditions required, and whether this managerial method can generate significant benefits
