Food Industry An Introduction
The food industry comprises a complex network of activities related to the supply, consumption, and catering of food products and services. It plays a significant role in the economic development of any nation. It is one of the world's most dynamic economic sectors. This paper provides a brief introduction to food industry Matthew N. O. Design Thinking
Design thinking refers to a formal method for solving problems and providing solutions. It is one of the promising ways of transforming organizations. Researchers working in several disciplines continue to study the ways designers think. This paper provides a short introduction to design thinking and emphasizes the need of design thinking in undergraduate decision making courses. Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Adedamola A. Computational Mechanics
Computational mechanics CM is concerned with the use of computational techniques to characterize, predict, and simulate physical phenomena and engineering systems governed by the principles of mechanics. Over the years, CM has made a significant contribution in the design and development of new products and systems. This paper provides a brief, clear introduction to computational mechanics. Essence of Business 4.0
Industry 4.0 technologies aid manufacturers in monitoring production processes and making effective decisions. In a similar way, Business 4.0 technologies can help sales, marketing and customer service, drive profits and productivity, and help the companies stay competitive. It requires a new way of thinking and involving the employees, customers, and partners. This paper provides a brief introduction to Business 4.0. Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Nana K. Ampah | Sarhan M. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Food Hygiene A Primer
Food hygiene is fundamentally important. It plays a major role in ensuring food safety. Poor food hygiene practice can lead to food poisoning. Food premises posting poor hygiene scores as practiced in UK will su er negative economic e ects as consumers choose to eat somewhere else. Food hygiene plays a key factor in at the production, preparation, handling, storage, and distribution of food. Hygiene practices are important, particularly in lower socio economic households. This paper provides a primer on food hygiene. Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Tolulope J. Ashaolu | Sarhan M. Internet of Things Challenges and Solutions
The Internet of things IoT is a relatively new concept. It presents numerous benefits to consumers and proves a financial boon for businesses. Pervasive introduction of sensors and devices into currently intimate spaces, such as homes, cars, and wearables, poses some challenges. There are also challenges in deploying IoT by government agencies and private industries. This paper attempts to address these challenges and offers solutions. Matthew N. O.
