My paper provides a new critical edition, with critical apparatus, comment and translation of a set of anonymous ‘coblas’, copied as a sequence in the anthology present at ff. 55-66 in chansonnier P: BdT 461.126; BdT 461.193; BdT 461.246; BdT 461.217; BdT 461.133 (all of which are unica). I will examine in particular the attributions suggested so far for one or more of these ‘coblas’ (a name that has frequently been put forward is that of Paolo Lanfranchi da Pistoia, author of the sonnet in ‘cobla’ form copied in P immediately preceding the poems discussed here) and address the hypothesis put forward by several scholars (and upheld with convincing evidence by Stefano Asperti) that the sequence under consideration points to the strong presence of a Tuscan tradition in chansonnier P, clearly contributing, among other things, to outline a “fundamental coherence” (Asperti) between some aspects of Dante’s literary culture and this particular songbook

Between the Economics of Religion and Religious Economics. Tangent Questions Regarding Italian History and Economic Theory.
ABSTRACT: The paper discusses the most important points of the relationship between social Christian thought and economic facts and how they developed in Italy, with particular reference to the application of competitive market principles. Starting with the second half of the 1800s, it is possible to argue that both the social doctrine and market theories had scarse impact on each other and more importantly, that they did not interact in a way which would have been useful. The author covers the main and most significant contributions that economists, sociologists, philosophers and politicians tried to bring to this missing debate between economic science and religious principles. In view of the creation of a society which responds to mankind’s real needs, we feel the lack of such a debate even though today we are witnessing a certain awakening
Experimental Evaluation of an IoT-Based Platform for Maritime Transport Services
In recent years, the adoption of innovative technologies in maritime transport and logistics systems has become a key aspect towards their development and growth, especially due to the complex and heterogeneous nature of the maritime environment. On the other hand, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions are gaining importance in the shipping industry thanks to the huge number of distributed cameras and sensors in modern ships, cargoes and sea ports, which can be exploited to improve safety, costs and productivity. This paper presents an experimental evaluation of a maritime platform, which enables a wide range of 5G-based services in the context of logistics and maritime transportation. Its core is a Narrow Band (NB)-IoT framework used to run massive IoT services on top of a hybrid terrestrial–satellite network and feed a OneM2M platform with significant data on maritime transport to develop high-level and value-added logistic applications on top. Among the many different services that could be provided by the maritime platform, we focus on the cargo-ship container tracking use case through the Global Tracking System, which allows for continuous container monitoring all over the seas in a port-to-port service scenario. The results of the experimental tests illustrate the capacity of the platform in managing the high number of messages transmitted by the container tracking devices (i.e., more than 3000) and its efficiency in limiting the average maximum latency and packet loss below 5.5 s and 0.9%, respectively
e-Health and the Internet of Things. Definitions, applications, regulation, actors. Roadmap to a use cases research.
This reports deals with the electronic health (e-Health) as a prism to study the Internet of Things. After having provided the necessary definitions and having described applications, regulators, regulations and actors both in the UK, in the US and in the EU, the author sets the basis for a use cases research regarding the e-prescribing
Learning from Failures: a Chance to Overcome the Crisis. E-Government Adoption in the Municipality of Palermo, Italy.
Due to its effect on regional and national competitiveness the issue of e- Government
has become particularly relevant in the light of an ongoing financial crisis. Mostly because
e-Government has a great potential in reducing the cost of regulatory compliance for
government customers, in improving efficiency and tax administration and in avoiding
frauds and errors. However, it must not be considered as a simple set of tools for
technological innovation but rather a phenomenon that requires redesigning the entire
institutional governance model and the roles of the main actors involved.
This paper presents part of the PhD thesis project of the author on the
implementation and adoption of e-Government strategies in the Municipality of Palermo,
southern Italy, in a crucial period of the starting of a new web portal project.
Research is being conducted adopting a managerial perspective with the help of
Institutional Theory as a framework to understand the particular context and to depict the
deep causes of lack of coordination among institutions. Moreover System Dynamics, a
particular kind of dynamic simulation, will be used in order to individuate the variables
affecting the adoption rate and to analyze what feedback foster or avoid the achievement of
the tipping point to assure the development of e-services. A similar integrated approach to
e-government, although with different applications, has been already proposed by Luna
