    No full text
There is a stylistic device in modern horror movies that hasn't beennamed yet: the author suggests the term "Frightmotif" for therecontextualization of popular cultural songs as a source music motiffor evil in horror films (or similar genres). The "Frightmotif" is apreexistent, popular cultural and autonomic song that works as somekind of a incantation for evil. This song is always source music sothe protagonists in the movies are able to hear it. It obtains asupernatural connotation through it's repetitive character and it willbe decontextualized. For the audience the Song will be linked with thecinematic object through the process of denotation. The newconnotation with evil dissolves the original historico-culturalmeaning of the song and the song is recontextualized.Abgabedatum: 05.09.2008Paderborn, Univ., Bachelorarb., 200

Managing mixed-stock fisheries: genotyping multi-SNP haplotypes increases power for genetic stock identification

    No full text
Assignment methods that use genetic data to allocate migrating fish to population of origin are a powerful tool to help manage the harvest of mixed-stock fisheries. A common challenge for fishery applications is resolving the relative contribution of closely related populations where assignment accuracy may be limited. An overlooked method for increasing assignment accuracy is the use of multi-SNP haplotypes rather than single-SNP genotypes. Haplotypes increase power for detecting population structure, and loci derived from next-generation sequencing methods often contain multiple SNPs. We evaluated the utility of multi-SNP haplotyping for mixture analysis in Western Alaska Chinook salmon. Multi-SNP haplotype data increased the accuracy of mixture analysis for closely related populations by up to seven percentage points relative to single-SNP genotype data for a set of 500 loci; 90% accuracy was achievable with as few as 150 loci with multi-SNP haplotypes but required at least 300 loci with single-SNP genotypes. Individual assignment to reporting groups showed an even greater increase in accuracy of up to 17 percentage points when multi-SNP haplotypes were used. Haplotyping multiple SNPs shows promise to improve the accuracy of assigning unknown fish to population of origin whenever haplotype data are available. The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page. Kõige mahukamateks lõputöö osadeks on kahe tehnoloogiakaardi koostamine. Ehitustöödele lisanduvad parkimismaja katuse haljastustööd, mille planeeritud lõpp on 06.05.2024. Kalendergraafikus on iga tööetapi juures välja toodud optimaalne tööliste arv. Organisation of the Construction Works of an Apartment Building In this thesis, the construction of a fourteen-storey apartment building was organised. First, the location and the architectural part of the building to be constructed were described, followed by the structural solution and the utility systems. In the economic section a detailed construction budget was prepared which included direct costs, overhead costs, and working time standards, on the basis of which the construction period was planned and a detailed calendar schedule was prepared. Then a brief overview of the works to be carried out and the workforce from the start to finish of the site was provided. As a part of the thesis, a master plan for the construction site was prepared, which provided a solution for the organisational side of the entire site as well as the water and electricity requirements during construction. The most extensive sections of the thesis are the two technology maps that were prepared. One section described the concrete work of a grillage foundation and the other the assembly work of a standard floor. The technology maps described in detail the list of works to be carried out, the quantities of works and material costs, and the composition of the crews. The tools to be used, equipment required, work safety and quality assurance requirements were also specified. In total, four graphic drawings were prepared. A calendar schedule, master plan of the construction site and two technology maps. According to the construction budget, the cost price of the works of the building was 6,004,742.15 euros excluding company profit and VAT. The total cost of the organisation and overhead of the construction site is 756,237.50 euros, which represents 13% of the total cost of the project. Construction works will start on 2 January 2023. The total period of the works is 14 months and the delivery of the works and the filing of the application for the use and occupancy permit will take place on 8 March 2024. Construction starts with preparatory works and ends with the delivery of the building to the client and the owners of the apartments. In addition to the construction works, landscaping works on the roof of the parking garage are planned to be completed by 6 May 2024. The calendar schedule indicates the optimum number of workers for each work stage. The highest number of construction workers is in October, with 72 people working on the site. SUMMARY81 The lifting works on the site will be carried out with a tower crane, which is the optimal solution for the given site. The crane has a lifting capacity of up to 12 tonnes and an operational radius of 40 metres. The tower crane will be assembled and ready for lifting work at the beginning of the grillage foundation works and is dismantled during the roofing works. In the preparation of the thesis, the author gained new knowledge and skills, which will be useful in the future when planning and constructing the same type of buildings
