No full textHlavním cílem předkládané bakalářské práce je zjistit další možnosti financování neziskové organizace Samari, o.s. a zviditelnění či komunikace její součásti - dobrovolnického centra. Tato práce byla vytvořena na základě dílčích analýz a dotazníkového šetření, přičemž závěry byly shrnuty do SWOT analýzy. Závěry a doporučení pro vybranou neziskovou organizaci vyplývají z jejích silných a slabých stránek, příležitostí a ohrožení v lokálním prostředí Zlínského kraje.The main purpose of the submitted Bachelor thesis is to find out further possibilities of funding the non-profit organisation Samari, o.s. (civil society organisation) and of raising public awareness of one of its sections - the volunteer centre. This thesis is based on partial analyses and on a questionnaire survey. The results have been summarised in a SWOT analysis. The conclusions and recommendations for the particular non-profit organisation follow from its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within Zlin region.Vyšší odborná škola ekonomickáobhájen

This research brief, by former PRC postdoctoral fellow Goleen Samari, found that use of long-acting methods fell in Egypt between 2005 and 2014, while use of short-acting methods increased. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Eco-friendly mangrove-derived nanocomposite coating for sustainable biofouling and corrosion protection in Persian Gulf field trials
Full text link: Marine biofouling and corrosion impose major environmental and operational costs on maritime industries. This study aims to develop an eco-friendly, mangrove-derived nanocomposite coating that sustainably mitigates both challenges. Aluminum oxide and titanium dioxide nanoparticles were green-synthesized using Avicennia marina leaf extract and integrated with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) into a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) matrix. Structural characterization (XRD, FTIR, FESEM-EDS, UV-Vis) confirmed uniform nanoparticle dispersion and hybrid formation with enhanced photocatalytic efficiency. The optimized 0.5 wt% Al2O3-TiO2@MWCNT/PDMS coating exhibited superior antibacterial performance, achieving 96.5 % inhibition against S. aureus, 97.2 % against E. coli, and 95.8 % against P. aeruginosa, alongside 98.7 % anti-algal suppression of Nannochloropsis oculata. Corrosion current density reached as low as 0.008 μA/cm2, while polarization resistance increased to 4750 kΩ·cm2. Four-month field trials in the Persian Gulf demonstrated a 68 % reduction in fouling coverage relative to control PDMS panels. Through green synthesis and the exclusion of toxic biocides, this coating minimizes ecological risk and supports UN Sustainable Development Goals 9 and 14 by providing a scalable, durable, low-impact solution for marine infrastructure protection
