Moving the National Capital (IKN) from the Strategic Intelligence approach
The State Capital is the center of government activities that includes administrative institutions as well as an
icon of a country. The National Capital relocation project is a significant government agenda, requiring
comprehensive and systematic measurements as the basis for government decisions. Strategic intelligence
becomes a relevant perspective to measure and map the potential of the plan. Strategic intelligence thinking
has a broad spectrum by looking at the importance of multidisciplinary aspects in a policy that includes
specific variables ranging from social, political, economic, defense and security, geography, logistics and
communication, government and diplomacy. Multidisciplinary parameters and strategic intelligence
measurement models can encourage governments to maximize national interests. Therefore, intelligence
can provide detailed consideration for the government to make decisions. The data collection method in
writing this article was carried out qualitatively by collecting and processing information from the literature
and mass media
Indonesia’s 2022 Presidency for the G20 Summit in a Strategic Intelligence Perspective Anticipating Security and Hidden Agenda Issues
Indonesia is trusted to host the G20 summit in 2022. This opportunity is the first time since the G20 was established. With the slogan "Recover Together, Recover Stronger", Indonesia hopes that this forum will provide an opportunity for all member countries to engage in dialogue to achieve political stability following the Covid-19 pandemics. Several priority issues will be discussed, which is the global health architecture as a joint effort in responding to Covid-19, which is still spreading in various countries, including the emergence of a new virus variant known as Omicron. In addition to these issues, dialogue forums allow countries to aspire to their national interests, although not all state purposes and interests can be stated explicitly. Strategic intelligence provides remarkable analytical results. Undeniably, the Indonesian Presidency in the G20 has many advantages. However, that does not mean it negates some threats. The holding of the G20 in Indonesia presents a potential threat in increasing clandestine operations in Indonesian territory, obtaining information domestically as a manifestation of foreign efforts to achieve their national interests. In addition, the discussion of sensitive issues such as the issue of Papuan independence, issues of illegal logging and conservation and destruction of forests can irritate Indonesia and interfere with the national interests. Thus, the strategic intelligence approach for maintaining Indonesia's interests in the G20 series should be well-applied
Leveraging economic intelligence and stakeholder collaboration to eradicate illegal plain cigarettes
Background: Indonesia ranks third globally in the number of smokers, despite government efforts to reduce cigarette consumption. The continued rise in smoking is linked to the circulation of illegal cigarettes, which threaten public health, state revenue, and the national tobacco industry. This study aims to examine the distribution dynamics of illicit cigarettes and analyze stakeholder strategies to combat the issue. Methods: A qualitative approach was used, involving interviews, document analysis, and literature review. Data were analyzed thematically to explore patterns in stakeholder roles and motivations. Findings: Economic incentives drive the illegal cigarette trade, which disrupts legal markets and undermines tax revenue. Stakeholder participation varies by institutional interest and authority, influencing enforcement outcomes. Weak coordination and limited use of economic intelligence were identified as key challenges. Conclusion: Addressing illegal cigarette distribution requires stronger stakeholder collaboration and strategic use of economic intelligence. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study provides new insights into the role of economic intelligence and stakeholder dynamics in tackling illicit cigarette trade in Indonesia
