Contemporary Francophone literature is profoundly influenced by migratory flows in the European context. This fosters a literary scenario that reflects, therefore, a wide of writings inspired by the deterritorialization phenomenon and the feeling of rootlessness. In this context, there have been many writers, either immigrants or exiles, who have settled in France and have adopted French as a language of literary expression. The existential quest for the identity essence of these authors expresses the evolution of a new intercultural identity model. Such is the case of Hadia Decharrière, a writer born in Kowait to Syrian parents who has lived herd childhood between France, Syria and the United States. Hadia Decharrière is inscribed, therefore, in the context of Francophone xenographs in modern Europe. Author of two novels, Grande Section published in 2018 and Arabe published a year later, Hadia Decharrière presents a narrative project of autofictional inspiration in which she reflects on the process of identity construction and linguistic belonging. In the present article, we propose to analyze her second novel, in which the author places linguistic belonging at the epicenter of identity construction

This thesis aims to explore the presentation of the body and its connection to the consciousness created within a multitude of existences. This presentation addresses the layers in which the female body is constructed in the works of Haruki Murakami, Moto Hagio, and Hadia Said, all of which deal specifically with the female body and consciousness. The angles used in this presentation will include a postmodern feminist interpretation of the body with regard to sexual politics. The primary mediums in which these existences are contained will be printed and virtual modes of communication contributing to the construction of a global consciousness, through the utilization of broadcast, the internet, written letters, and electronic documentation. These methods offer an insight into the creation of the alternate and the mirrored body formed entirely in words and concepts as recreated by perceiving and observing other. Each narrator, respectively, offers a look into a presupposed body removed from the actual subject in non-physically, if sometimes tangible forms. This exploration is concerned primarily with the female bodies represented in Said\u27s and Murakami\u27s works Artiste, Sputnik Sweetheart, and Kafka on the Shore, with a nod to the androgynous body in Hagio\u27s The Heart of Thomas. The analysis will be done in regard to the formulation of identity in a local and trans-national setting, as the bodies are not limited to a substantially solid physical environment. The emphasis on location will be directed on the existence of the physical body as well, as interlinked with the issue of identity of those surrounding the virtual and recreated body. These subjects are firmly placed, however, within a historical context affording a time frame, if not situated chronologically. In order to explore the virtual existence of the recreated and mirrored body, it will be necessary to understand the frame they are initially created then removed from

Cross-Cultural Management Education: Core for Business Students in the 21st Century

    No full text
The study examines the impact of introducing several crosscultural management courses in the undergraduate program of a business school on the students’ cultural intelligence level and on their ability to manage conflict more effectively. The experimental method is used where students in the experimental and the control groups respond to the same survey at three different times (240 students); the focus group method is used with a group of nine students from the experimental group to obtain a deeper understanding of the results of the statistical analysis. The findings suggest a positive and significant effect of the cross-cultural management courses on the cultural intelligence level and the conflict management styles of students with obvious differences between male and female students. The findings confirm the importance of these courses and recommend making cross-cultural management courses core for all students to support their future global employability. Furthermore, experiential and blended learning techniques can replace international exposure, which is timely considering the constraints imposed on international travel due to COVID19. The study suggests a helpful insight to international business educators that can support the process of developing their programs through introducing specific courses and complementary teaching techniques that are effective and timely

Ubiquités Sensor Network (USN) is a conceptual network built over existing physical networks. It makes use of sensed data and provides knowledge services to anyone, anywhere and at anytime, and where the information is generated by using context awareness. Smart wearable devices and USNs are emerging rapidly providing many reliable services facilitating people life. Those very useful small end terminals and devices require a global communication substrate to provide a comprehensive global end user service. In 2010, the ITU-T provided the requirements to support USN applications and services in the Next Génération Network (NGN) environment to exploit the advantages of the core network. One of the main promising markets for the USN application and services is the e-Health. It provides continuous patients’ monitoring and enables a great improvement in medical services. On the other hand, Vehicular Ad-Hoc NETwork (VANET) is an emerging technology, which provides intelligent communication between mobile vehicles. Integrating VANET with USN has a great potential to improve road safety and traffic efficiency. Most VANET applications are applied in real time and they are sensitive to delay, especially those related to safety and health. In this work, we propose to use IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) as a service controller sub-layer in the USN environment providing a global substrate for a comprehensive end-to-end service. Moreover, we propose to integrate VANETs with USN for more rich applications and facilities, which will ease the life of humans. We started studying the challenges on the road to achieve this goalUbiquitous Sensor Network (USN) est un réseau conceptuel construit sur des réseaux physiques existantes.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the difficult airway management related knowledge, attitudes and practices amongst physicians and nurses working in the emergency departments of Pakistan. Method: A web-based questionnaire was distributed nationwide amongst physicians and nurses working in emergency departments nationwide. Results: There were 81 respondents for this in-term analysis. Most (70.4%) have practised emergency medicine for less than five years. 85.2% said their hospital had an EM training program. The majority (75.3%) preferred the RSI approach to managing airways in the emergency room. The average number of endotracheal intubations handled in a month and the average number of unexpectedly difficult intubations encountered in 100 cases were respectively 16.06±15.27 and 12.66±16.36. The exact steps of the ASA difficult airway algorithm were known to 60.5% of the responders. In terms of managing difficult airways, 39.5% of respondents felt competent. Conclusion: There is a lack of institutional and nationwide guidelines regarding airway practices due to lack of formal training programs. The study identified the gaps in theoretical knowledge amongst physicians, highlighting the need for regular and formal training as currently most physicians are guided by clinical experience.
