Efek Ekstrak Etanol Daun Beluntas (Pluchea indica (L.) Less) Terhadap Penyembuhan Luka Sayat pada Mencit (Mus musculus L.)
A wound can be caused by punctures, collisions, bites or scratches of sharp object. To avoid futher damage, the body has a wound healing mechanism that begin with inflammation. The use of herbal preparations is an alternative choice because of the relatively small effects, one of which is beluntas leaf extract because it contains saponins, tannins, and terpenoids as anti-inflammatory and atibacterial to accelerate the process of wound healing. The aims of this research were to find out the effectiveness of ethanol extract of beluntas leaf and in histological appearance process of wound healing. This research used 25 male mice that were divided into five different treatment groups. The treatment groups were treated with K- (negative control), K+ (povidone-iodine) and beluntas leaf extract with three concentration of PI (25%), PII (50%), and PIII (75%). The extract was obtained by maceration process added with vaseline as ointments. Incision wound made it into 1 cm, the treatments were applied onto the wound and observed for twice a day in 14 days. Histological preparation was made to calculate lymphocytes, fibroblasts, and epithelial thickness on days 14. The data were analyzed statistically using One Way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) followed by Post Hoc test. The result of this research showed some significant differences average time span of wound healing of each group's K-, and K+, PI, PII and PIII was subsequently 7.6 days, 8.4 days, 6.8 days, 8.2 days and 8.4 days with p = 0.045. Histological observations showed that beluntas leaf extract ointment concentration of 75% had a significant influuence of the average number of lymphocytes, fibroblast and beluntas leaf extract ointment concentration of 25% had a significant influuence of epithelial thickness compared to the control treatment. In conclusion, the beluntas leaf extract ointmen has an effect on the woung healing process.Luka dapat disebabkan oleh tusukan, benturan, gigitan atau goresan benda tajam. Untuk menghindari kerusakan lebih lanjut maka tubuh memiliki mekanisme penutupan luka yang diawali oleh inflamasi. Penggunaan sediaan herbal merupakan pilihan alternatif karena efek samping yang relatif kecil, salah satunya adalah ekstrak daun beluntas karena mengandung saponin, tanin, dan terpenoid yang berperan sebagai antiinflamasi, dan antibakteri untuk mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek ekstrak daun beluntas terhadap fase inflamasi dalam penyembuhan luka sayat dan gambaran histologinya. Luka sayat dibuat sepanjang 1 cm, salep diaplikasikan ke daerah luka dan dilakukan pengamatan selama 14 hari. Dibuat sediaan histologi untuk mengukur jumlah limfosit, jumlah fibroblas dan ketebalan epitel. Data penelitian dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji Anova dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Post hoc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan waktu penyembuhan luka untuk setiap kelompok berturut-turut adalah 7,6 hari, 8,4 hari, 6,8 hari, 8,2 hari dan 8,4 hari dengan nilai P= 0,045 (P<0,05). Pengamatan histologi menunjukkan bahwa kelompok salep ekstrak daun beluntas 25% memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah limfosit, jumlah fibroblas dan ketebalan epitel Kesimpulannya adalah salep ekstrak daun beluntas 25% memberikan efek terhadap proses penutupan luka.53 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan
Pengaruh Pemberian Buah Naga Merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) terhadap Penurunan Kadar Glukosa Darah dan Kolesterol Darah pada Mencit Jantan yang Diinduksi Aloksan
The purpose of research are influence for red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) concern to on body weight, decreased blood glucose (KGD) and blood cholesterol in male alloxan-induced mucosa (Mus musculus L.). This study used a complete randomized design with five replicates and five treatments, K(-) normal without treatment, K (+) diabetic induced by alloxan; P1-P3: Alloxan-induced diabetic and red dragon fruit juice with doses of 3.6, 7.2, and 10.8 g / kg BB. The results showed that red dragon fruit juice was not able to increase weight of diabetic, lower blood cholesterol and can lower blood sugar levels of alloxan-induced diabetic mice. Red dragon fruit juice with a dose of 10.8 g / kgBB is a dose that gives the best effect in lowering blood sugar levels of mice.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian buah naga merah
(Hylocereus polyrhizus) terhadap berat badan, penurunan kadar gula darah (KGD)
dan kolesterol darah pada mencit jantan (Mus musculus L.) yang diinduksi
aloksan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima
ulangan dan lima perlakuan, yaitu: K(-): mencit normal tanpa perlakuan; K(+):
mencit diabetes yang diinduksi dengan aloksan; P1-P3: mencit diabetes yang
diinduksi aloksan dan diberi jus buah naga merah dengan dosis 3,6, 7,2, dan 10,8
g/kg BB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jus buah naga merah tidak dapat
meningkatkan berat badan mencit diabetes, menurunkan kolesterol darah dan
dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah mencit diabetes yang diinduksi aloksan. Jus
buah naga merah dengan dosis 10,8 g/kgBB merupakan dosis yang memberikan

Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Biwa (Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl.) Terhadap Penyembuhan Luka Sayat pada Mencit (Mus musculus L.)

The wound healing process is divided into four phases 1) coagulation 2) inflammatory 3) proliferation 4) remodeling. Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl.) leaf contains triterpenoids, alkaloids, and tannins as anti-inflammation, antibacterial, antiallergic that plays a role in accelerating the wound healing process. Proses penyembuhan luka dibagi menjadi 4 tahap yaitu 1) koagulasi 2) inflamasi 3) proliferasi dan 4) maturasi. Ekstrak daun biwa (Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl.) mengandung triterpenoid, alkaloid dan tanin yang memiliki efek antiinflamasi, antibakteri, antialergi yang berperan dalam mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka. Luka sayat dibuat sepanjang 1 cm, perlakuan diaplikasikan pada luka dan dilakukan pengamatan 2 kali sehari selama 14 hari. Dibuat sediaan histologi untuk mengukur ketebalan epitel, jumlah fibroblas, dan jumlah limfosit. Data penelitian dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan uji One Way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Post Hoc. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan hari kesembuhan luka untuk setiap kelompok, K-, K+, PI, PII, dan PIII berturut-turut adalah, 8 hari, 9,2 hari, 7,6 hari, 8,4 hari, dan 9,4 hari dengan nilai p=0,048 (p<0,05). Pengamatan histologi menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata ketebalan epitel, jumlah fibroblas dan limfosit pada kelompok perlakuan PI lebih tinggi daripada kelompok perlakuan lainnya. Pengaruh Musik Klasik Mozart terhadap Perilaku Mencit (Mus musculus L.) yang Diinduksi oleh Obat Klorpromazin dengan Menggunakan Alat Otomatis Intellicage
This research has been done to observe and to analysis the effect of classical
music of Mozart on mice behavior. The animal has been induced by
Chlorpromazine drugs using IntelliCage automatic tool. Chlorpromazine was
given orally as an anxienty agent. Mice were anesthetized with Ketamine
intramuscularly to implant microtransponder subcutaneously. This research has
four phases which were adapting phase, learning phase, testing phase and treating
phase. Each mice has been deprived for ± 24 hours and has been given to access
drink to all corners of IntelliCage for 6 hours. Each phase consisted of two
consequtive periods in which each period last for two days. For the classical
music treatment, the music was applied during depriving period and observing
one. The result showed that Chlorpromazine could reduce respiratory and drink
activities significantly (p<0,05). Meanwhile, drug could increase the anxiety of
mice. For classical music treatment, it showed that music did not significantly

Efek Hipoglikemia Ekstrak Etanol Biji Mahoni (Swietenia mahogani Jack.) dan Gambaran Mikrostruktur Limpa pada Mencit (Mus musculus L.) yang telah Diinduksi Diabetes dengan Aloksan
A research was conducted to investigate antidiabetic activity of ethanol extracts
from the seed of mahogani (Swietenia mahogany Jack.) and microstruktur in the
mice was inducted diabetic with alloxan. The experiment used completely
randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Diabetes
mellitus was induced in 16 hours fasted animals by a single intraperitoneal
injection of 5,04 mg alloxan. Twenty five mice were divided into 5 groups., i.e.
KN (normal mice); KP (diabetic mice); and P1, P2, and P3 were diabetic mice
treated respectively with 1.4, 2.8, and 4.2 mg/kg bw Mahogany seed extract. The
result showed that the extract of 2,8 mg/kg bw and 4,2 mg/kg bw was able to
decrease blood glucose level (P<0,05), but the extract was not able recovery
decreasing body weight of diabetic mice. The extract also was able impact on
microstructure of spleen. In conclusion, we suggested that ethanol extracts of
Swietenia mahogany seed is able to decrease blood glucose level in alloxan

The Histologic Description of Male Mice (Mus musculus L.) Kidney Treated
With Fresh Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) Fruit Extract has
been studied from March 2013 to November 2014. The study used completely
randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatment groups; control (K0), and
treatment with 2% (P1), 5% (P2), and 10% (P3) of fresh andaliman fruit extract
for 40 days and continued for 40 days without treatment to examine recovery.
Each treatment group consisted of 6 mice. Mice were dissected after 40 and 80
days of treatment, the kidneys were obtained, weighed, and made into
microscopic slides for histologic examination using paraffin method and
Hematoxyline Eosin (HE) stain. Morphological examination showed color change
in P2 treatment group. No significant difference was observed in kidneys weight
between treatment and control group. Histologic examination of glomeruli
diameter and proximal tubuli diameter showed an increase in diameter of
glomeruli in all treatment groups (P1, P2, and P3) but a decrease in diameter of
proximal tubuli in P1 treatment group compared to control group. Recovery phase

The Histologic Description of Mice Liver (Mus musculus L.) Strain DDW Treated
of N-Heksane Andaliman Fruit (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) Extract During
Pre Implantation and Post Implantation has been studied from March 2011 to May
2012 in Laboratory of Animal Structure, Department of Biology, Faculty of
Mathematics and Natural Science, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan. This
research used completely randomized design (CRD) consist of 2 groups of treatment,
the treatment of pre-implantation during 0-3 days (group A) and the treatment of postimplantation
during 6-14 days (group B). Each group consisted of giving control
treatment (K0A and K0B), solvent control treatment carboxyl methyl cellulose (CMC)
1% (KPA and KPB), n-hexane andaliman fruit extract 2% (PA1 and PB1), 4% (PA2
and PB2 ), and 6% (PA3 and PB3). Each treatment consisted of 6 replications. Mice
were treated orally using a gavage needle as much as 0.3ml/mice/day. The result of
morphologic observation on liver showed a pale and mottled surface texture in
treatment groups. The giving of post-implantation 6-14 days showed decrease of liver
weight (p> 0.05) than in treatment group in the giving of pre implantation 0-3 days.
The giving of post-implantation 6-14 days showed increase of hepatocyte damage (p>
0.05) than in treatment group in the giving of pre implantation 0-3 days. From the
result of this analysis, it could be then concluded that the n-hexane andaliman fruit
