Adaptivní volba parametrů stabilizačních metod pro rovnice konvekce-difúze
Title: Adaptive choice of parameters in stabilization methods for convection- diffusion equations Author: Bc. Petr Lukáš (e-mail: [email protected]) Department: Department of Numerical Mathematics Supervisor: Doc. Mgr. Petr Knobloch, Dr. (e-mail: [email protected]) Abstract: The aim of the work is to propose suitable approaches for adap- tive choice of parameters in stabilization methods for convection-difusion equations discretized by the finite element method. We introduce the L-SR1 method, compare it with other nonlinear methods of minimizing functions with large number of variables, and introduce and compare the adaptive methods based on minimizing of the error indicator. Utilization of Radar Echo Extrapolation for Quantitative Precipitation Forecast
Title: Utilization of radar echo extrapolation for quantitative precipitation forecast Author: Petr Frolík Department: Department of Meteorology and Enviroment Protection Supervisor: RNDr. Petr Novák, PhD., ČHMÚ Supervisor's e-mail address: [email protected] Abstract: At present time weather radar data are essential for national meteorological services. Utilization of this data for quantitative precipitation forecast and severe weather prediction for short period (nowcasting) becomes more and more common. Increasing interest for quantitative precipitation forecasts can be noticed in hydrological applications, where it can give early warning on flash floods and can improve large scale precipitation forecasts. This paper verifies usability of COTREC nowcasting method based on extrapolation of radar echo for quantitative precipitation forecast. Quality of COTREC forecast up to 3 hours was investigated on data from 1.4.2006 to 30.9.2006. Comparison of COTREC method with Aladin NWP model forecasts was also made. Hourly mean precipitation estimates on catchments were chosen for comparison because of verification focused mainly on utilization of the forecasts in hydrological applications. Forecasted precipitation estimates were compared with optimal operationally available precipitation estimate - adjusted radar..

Usage possibilities of the cloud products of satellite datasets
Title Usage possibilities of the cloud products of satellite datasets Author: Bc. Petr Šácha Department: Department of Meteorology and Environment Protection Supervisor: RNDr. Petr Pišoft Ph.D. Supervisor's e-mail address: [email protected] Abstract: Cloudiness plays an important role in the global energy and water cycle. In particular, the presence of clouds dominates the planetary albedo and takes part in many climate feedback processes. In this thesis a short informational overview of remote sensing, a description of EUMETSAT, satellites, which it used, its part CM- SAF and a search retrieval of current research is given at first. Then the study is focused on the cloud satellite products, especially on CFC (cloud fractional cover) and CTY (cloud type) products. Data sets of daily averages of these products are compared with the daily averages created from the surface SYNOP observations of the total cloud cover and cloud type in the area of the Czech Republic. In the case of big variances between the two examined datasets of daily averaged cloud coverage, possible causes like the sampling error, dependence on season, localization of the station and the elevation and type of cloudiness, are searched. Several statistic analyses and validation scores are computed. Finally, possibilities of the examined..
Spatially explicit farming system modelling for an efficient agri-environmental policy design
A mathematical programming model is developed and associated to a spatial pattern index (Ripley L function) to analyse the optimal reserve design and implementation for the Little Bustard conservation in Plaine de Niort. The model structure corresponds to three spatial levels, fields, farm and landscape. Simple in terms of area representation, it is detailed in terms of farm behaviour and spatially explicit. The model is applied in a normative and in a positive way. The major findings of the normative approach relate to the trade-offs between the reserve pattern and its cost. It was found that the environmentally optimal reserve, which is randomly dispersed across the zone, is the most costly one. Within the positive approach, it is illustrated that the various reserve patterns generated within the normative approach can be obtained through relatively simple uniform contract structures. The most effective contract structure is a degressive set of two payments enabling the farms to enroll at least a small share of their land.Biodiversity, spatial optimization, mathematical programming, Environmental Economics and Policy, Farm Management,

Summary
The level and quality of human’s health during lifetime is affected by many factors, for example hygienic and eating habbits, value system, physical régime, education, living conditions and job demands. The growth in usage of addictive substances among adolscents raises requirement in studying this topic even in younger age. Pilot research covered 149 children from Czech Republic at the age of 9,62. Results was obtained by project International Visegrad Fund No. 11320057. The survey was aimed on usage of addictive substances and attitudes towards them. Based on the result, we states, that children from research group have experiences especially with drinking of alcohol (wine 72,48 %; plum brandy etc. 43,62 %). Alcohol is usually offered by parents or familly members (26,17 %). An experience with smoking have 33,56 % of probands and 8,5 % from them smokes repeatedly. Alarming is fact, that some probands (5 %) was offered even a drug (marihuanna). The necessary support of preventive programs focused on active spending of leisure time and active lifestyle is obviuos. The state should support the creation and realization of these programs.Miklánková Ludmila, Reich Petr, Klimešová Iva, Rechtik Zdeněk. Substances in the life of children 8–10 years old. Abstract
Though today's society promotes healthy lifestyles wide range of sports , a lot of information about the prevention of social pathologies and good eating habits , we meet very often with negative effects such the inclination to sedentary life style with limited physical activity. As a group, we feel especially vulnerable children and youth . The project " Health, Fitness and education in Visegrad Countries and neighboring Countries " is focused on mapping and comparison of selected aspects of lifestyle and somatic characteristics of adolescents from Visegrad and other European countries (Poland, Czech Republic , Hungary, Slovakia and Ukraine). The principal investigator of the project is Universytet Kazimierz Wielki in Poland. The Czech Republic participated in the project 90 probands (51 boys, 39 girls). In this part of the research are presented the results obtained in the Czech Republic: the volume and intensity of physical activity. Between girls and boys were not found significant differences in the number of days/week and the average number/days of moderate physical activity during the week. The average number of minutes/day were also among probands with different gender confirmed significant differences (p ≤ 0.04). In accordance with the results of similar research results confirm a low level of physical activity among adolescent girls. The results of the project will help not only to compare data on physical activity of adolescents in individual countries, but also to examine it in the context of the effectiveness of preventive measures in the participating countries.Reich Petr, Miklánková Ludmila, Rechtik Zdeněk.
