Infanzie apocrife.
Starting from the volume of Rossana Barcellona, the Author reflects on the relationship between childhood and Apocrypha, both in relation to two particular and, in a certain sense, "mythical" characters as Jesus and Mary, both in relation to the ancient conceptions of childhood. Following the successive rewritings of certain Apocrypha also allows us to highlight between East and West some very significant cultural passages and change

In Grecia una biblioteca mobile porta i servizi tra i rifugiati
Preceded by some reflections by the author on the circumstances of culture and libraries under at-tack or neglected, in history and nowadays, because of their role as enhancers for freedom, equality and empowerment, the article, then, proposes an interview with the volunteers who run the ECHO Refugee Library in Greece. This is a mobile library that every day brings books, learning opportuni-ties and children’s activities to the thousands of refugees who live in camps in Greece, mainly after getting stuck there in consequence of the EU-Turkey Deal in 2016
Scienza aperta: una rivoluzione incompiuta. Considerazioni a margine del libro di Roberto Caso
Starting from the recently published book La rivoluzione incompiuta: la scienza aperta tra diritto d’autore e proprietà intellettuale, which collects five essays by Roberto Caso, professor of comparative law at the University of Trento, the article faces some of the main issues in scholarly communication. Caso examines the key points of the constantly evolving topics involved, with a particular emphasis on Italy, and to them the author of the article adds her considerations, covering current systems for research evaluation, bibliometrics, open access, copyright and the role of academic libraries
Acquisizioni tramite approval plan: outsourcing o nuova opportunità per i bibliotecari?
Based on the experience of the author with acquisitions on approval plan in an Italian academic library, the article explains in detail what is and how it works an approval plan, examining the pros and cons, and comparing it with standing orders and blanket orders. Approval plans are considered a case of outsourcing materials selection, anyway they can be a valuable tool in Italian libraries for librarians to rethink this activity which is often neglected or done by others, like teaching faculty. Also the article goes through prospects of approval plans in collection developmen
Diagnosis of anaphylactic death in forensics: review and future perspectives
The diagnosis of anaphylaxis in a pre- or post-mortal phase involves the formulation of problems not yet solved by the international scientific literature, due to the complexity of pathogenic factors and pathophysiological processes that characterizes it. For forensic autopsies, further problems of differential diagnosis arise and often leave the forensic pathologist unable to express an opinion of certainty, as a result of lack of case history, circumstantial and autoptical-histopathological data. Nevertheless, in routine cases the postmortem diagnosis of anaphylactic death continues to be based on exclusion and circumstantial evidence. The author, after an extensive review of the literature relating to deaths from anaphylaxis of forensic pathological interest, and a discussion of the microscopical and biochemical findings, proposes a diagnostic protocol for forensic purposes and evaluates the diagnostic perspectives enabled by the newly available analytic techniques and markers. Maybe, the application of omics methodologies could help in the future for anaphylaxis diagnosis
The Role of HIV Infection in Neurologic Injury
The central nervous system (CNS) is a very challenging HIV-1 sanctuary, in which HIV-1 replication is established early on during acute infection and can persist despite potent antiretroviral treatments. HIV-1 infected macrophages play a pivotal role acting as vehicles for HIV-1 to spread into the brain, and can be the major contributor of an early compartmentalization. HIV-1 infection in CNS may lead to a broad spectrum of neurological syndromes, such as dementia, mild neurocognitive disorders, and asymptomatic impairment. These clinical manifestations are caused by the release of neurotoxins from infected cells (mainly macrophages), and also by several HIV-1 proteins, able to activate cell-signaling involved in the control of cellular survival and apoptosis. This review is aimed at highlighting the virological aspects associated with the onset of neurocognitive disorders and at addressing the novel therapeutic approaches to stop HIV-1 replication in this critical sanctuary
Surface markings Inmatex: INteraction MAterial EXperience
In 2017, at the Polytechnic of Bari, the author founded Inmatex, an acronym for INteraction MATerial EXperience Lab, or a physical and virtual archive of materials based on interactions between sectors of surfaces organised in accordance with sensorial gradients. The study of sensorial gradients arose from a reconsideration of purovisibilist theories occasioned by contemporary studies addressing the design of surfaces, and in particular the relationship between materiality and the digital world, as well as between materiality and modern-day media
