No full textSince 1926, when Paul Festugière published the last complete works of Jean-François Sarasin (1614-1654), born in Hermanville-sur-mer in Normandy, no critique on the poet had been undertaken. Jean-François Sarasin, who was the secretary and intendant of the Prince de Conti and also for a few months that of the duchesse de Longueville, died in Pézenas. Paul Festugière’s edition - which has the merit of being exhaustive – nevertheless takes liberties with Sarasin’s original texts, sometimes renaming them. We based our study on the first edition published in 1656 by Sarasin’s friends, Paul Pellisson, Gilles Ménage and Madeleine de Scudéry, then on the edition of Nouvelles Œuvres (1674) as well as on the manuscripts from the Recueils Conrart, from the Fonds Français and the manuscript of Besançon. We have attempted to render the text in as faithful a way as possible, adding previously unpublished work and choosing, as Paul Festugière did, a modern form of spelling. This survey, based on a chronological classification of the texts, highlights the poet’s career, the evolution of his poetry and particularly his questioning on the use of prose or verse. The footnotes and the preface explore the historical context of Sarasin’s writing, i.e. the early 17th century. During this period, marked by the Thirty Years War and the Fronde, the Académie Française was created and many erudite and fashionable salons flourished. It was the time when the gallant aesthetic was developed. The notes also reveal the author’s sources of inspiration, the subjects he tackled and provide an outline of Sarasin’s style. He has been too often described as a “precious poet” and reduced to an epigone of Vincent Voiture. But Sarasin had a wider range of genres and registers than his precursor, he drew from varied sources and shows the strength and charm of a unique talent, haunted by the Acadian dream and radiant with Virgilian echoes. Two indexes, chronological reference points and a lexicon facilitate the reading of this work.Proposer une édition critique de l’œuvre poétique de Jean-François Sarasin (1614-1654), né à Hermanville-sur-Mer en Normandie, mort à Pézenas, secrétaire et intendant du Prince de Conti et, pendant quelques mois, de la duchesse de Longueville, n’avait pas été entrepris depuis 1926, date de la dernière publication des œuvres complètes de l’auteur, par Paul Festugière. L’édition de ce dernier, qui a le mérite de l’exhaustivité, se permet quelques libertés avec les textes de Sarasin, qu’elle rebaptise parfois. En nous basant sur la première édition conçue par les amis de Sarasin, Paul Pellisson, Gilles Ménage et Madeleine de Scudéry, en 1656 et sur l’édition des Nouvelles Œuvres (1674), ainsi que sur les manuscrits des Recueils Conrart (bibliothèque de l’Arsenal), du fonds français (B.N.F.) et sur le manuscrit de Besançon, nous avons tenté d’établir le texte de la manière la plus juste possible, enrichissant le corpus de pièces inédites, tout en adoptant, comme Paul Festugière, une orthographe moderne. Ce travail, par le choix d’une organisation chronologique des textes, met en lumière le parcours du poète, l’évolution de sa poésie, notamment son questionnement sur le choix de la prose ou des vers. Les notes de bas de page et la préface explorent le contexte d’écriture, ce premier dix-septième siècle qui a connu la guerre de Trente ans et la Fronde, qui a vu naître l’Académie Française et fleurir les salons érudits et mondains, où s’élabore l’esthétique galante. Elles révèlent également les sources de l’auteur, les thèmes abordés, et esquissent une étude du style de Sarasin. Trop souvent étiqueté « poète précieux » et réduit au rôle d’épigone de Vincent Voiture, Sarasin, plus ample que son devancier dans l’éventail des genres et des registres abordés, s’abreuvant à des sources diverses, a la force et le charme d’un talent unique, hanté par le rêve arcadien et nimbé de réminiscences virgiliennes. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
