Practical perspectives on older people, caregivers, families and organisations. Special issue of Working with Older People
Nuovi spunti su Benedetto Bacchini e il paratesto editoriale
Three centuries after the death of the Benedictine abbot Benedetto Bacchini (1645-1721), the publication of the proceedings of an important conference dedicated to him has made it possible to reconsider his figure as a religious and intellectual of European rank. Among the aspects worthy of renewed attention, the significant role of the paratextual apparatus emerged, as a privileged area for expressing in deep the historical thought and vision proposed by Bacchini. The editorial paratexts of some of Bacchini’s works that were entrusted to the printing houses without the intervention of the author, edited by scholars who had great esteem and / or had been very close to him, also offer relevant ideas. Among those works, the reissue by Lodovico Antonio Muratori of his edition of the Liber pontificalis by Agnello Ravennate within the Rerum Italicarum Scriptores, a new published version of his De Sistris by a Dutch author, and the posthumous editorial project relating to his Lettere polemiche against the Calvinist Giacomo Picenino. The function of the paratext is briefly examined also regarding a literary case of a certain importance, namely the collection of writings by Elena Lucrezia Cornaro published shortly after the female writer’s death (1688) in Parma at the presses of Ippolito Rosati ; in the circumstance, under commission by her family the abbot, in addition to taking care of the selection and arrangement of Cornaro’s works, signed both the dedication letter and the preface

Moreover, FedOA archive will contain all the research doctorate e-theses and furthermore even all the University Teachers staff scientific releases
Investigación participativa
The author describes in this paper a participative research about a changing process, in a
Distribution Center of an important company, from the perspective of the human resources.
After presenting the problem, he explains the conceptual framework, the methodological aspects
and the tools that were used. The latter includes key aspects of Human Resources management,
organization culture, communication style, training, wages, development and motivation. Finally
the results are presented as an answer to the questions the different variables of study have
raised.
estudio
Phylogenetic analysis and taxonomic revision of the neotropical genus Argentinomyia Lynch Arribálzaga, 1891 (Diptera: Syrphidae)
The genus Argentinomyia Lynch Arribálzaga, 1891 (Syrphidae: Syrphinae: Bacchini), was taxonomically
revised and a phylogenic analysis was conducted. The monophyly and internal phylogenetic composition
of Argentinomyia and related taxa were reconstructed, based on adults morphologic characters. The ingroup
includes 26 available species of Argentinomyia. Fourteen species of Melanostoma, Platycheirus,
Tuberculanostoma, Talahua and Xanthandrus (all Bacchini) were used as out-groups. Trichopsomyia
antillensis Thompson (Pipizini) was selected to root the phylogeny. The analysis of 70 phylogenetically
informative characters produced one most parsimonious cladograms (L=120 steps, CI=65, RI=90) within
the in-group topology (A. altissima, (A. rex, (A. browni, (A. bolivariensis))), (A. octomaculata, (A.
tropica, A. luculenta)), (A. opaca, A. rugosonasa, ((A. crenulata, A. testaceipes))), (A. nigrans, (A.
lineata, (A. neotropica, A. pollinosa))), ((A. currani, A. maculata), (A. praeusta, A. jamaicensis))), (A.
catabomba, A. lanei)), (A. scitula, A. columbiana, A. fastigata, A. thiemei, (A. longicornis, A.
peruviana)))). Argentinomyia is placed in the tribe Bacchini, subtribe Melanostomatina. According to the
strict consensus and preferred character state optimizations, Argentinomyia is a monophyletic group with
Melanostoma as the sister genus. There are several synapomorphies for Argentinomyia, although all show
reversals in at least a few species: 1) a bare area under the antenna; 2) elongated antenna, with scape
much longer than wider, basoflagellomere usually elongated; 3) female front with a pollinose pattern; 4)
face with transverse grooves, sometimes broadly punctuate and with iridescent reflections; 5) male
genitalia with surstyles generally widened and apically irregular. At least seven well-recognizable species
groups are characterized: browni, tropica, crenulata, neotropica, maculata, lanei and longicornis. A new
key to all species is provided. New diagnosis, detailed distributional data, notes on the biology of some
species, and illustrations of critical characters (photographs and drawings) are included to assist the
identification.NSF grants to Nico Franz, and a grant from the Dipterology Fund to the author for attending the 6th International Symposium on the Syrphidae, Glasgow, UK.

Conference Institutional archives for research: experiences and projects in Open Access Istituto Superiore di Sanità Rome, 30 November - 1 December 2006
The Congress was organised into four sessions: 1) Open Access (OA) and authors: support from the international community; 2) OA in Italy: knowledge and tools to write and search; 3) institutional policies for OA; 4) opportunities and services to develop OA. It was aimed at achieving the following objectives: a) make authors of biomedical publications aware of the benefits of depositing research material in digital open archives and publishing in OA peer-reviewed journals; b) outline the impact of the OA publishing model on the assessment of research output; c) enhance the adoption of policies encouraging the OA paradigm; d) promote cooperation between research institutions in Italy and abroad to share resources and experiences on institutional repositories. A useful introductory bibliography on the OA publishing model in the biomedical field is included in the Appendix
Evaluation of the expression of matrix metalloproteinase 9 and neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin in serum, urine and tumoral tissues of female dogs suffering from mammary gland tumors
In human medicine, it has been shown recently that the level of expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) in serum, urine, and breast tissue were significantly increased in patients with breast cancer and correlated to several prognostic factors. In the first part, the author presents the MMP-9 and NGAL as a synthesis of current knowledge on their ability to serve as biomarkers of breast cancer in women. In the second, the author presents the production of canine MMP9 and NGAL recombinant proteins, the production of polyclonal antibodies, and their use in various techniques (ELISA, western blot, immunohistochemistry) to assess the level of expression of these proteins in the blood, urine and breast tissue of dogs suffering from mammary gland tumors and demonstrate a positive correlation between these proteins and the presence of a tumor disease of the mammary gland
