Perle Golasecchiane in materiale vetroso dai dintorni di Como
We will expound upon protohistoric vitreous material beads (faience, glassy faience and glass) from the Como area (eastern facies of the Golasecca culture, IX-IV centuries BC), that belong to the collections of the museum “P. Giovio” in Co-mo (Italy). Here, typological and technological aspects are examined: the research involves systematic archaeometric analy-ses, carried out by the Università di Padova - Dipartimento di Geoscienze. The aim is to point out the spread and the diffusion of glass beads, from the point of view of the well-known goods circu-lation framework in the Como area, their function and their cultural meaning
The dilemma of suspense: Neuronarratology, cognitive neurosciences, and computer technology
The new generation Narratology shows a renewed heuristic scenario, involving an intense dialogue among Humanities, Cognitive Neuroscience and Computer Technology. The case of suspense is emblematic: the pleasure that suspense exercises on the human mind can be precisely explained by identifying the mechanisms of reward provided by neurological and imaging studies. At the same time, patterns of automatic generation of narrations highlight the profound implications of a heated debate between Narratology and Computer Technology, in order to understand the processes of reception and inference during the narrative immersion in storyworlds. At the end of their overview on of a cross-disciplinary approach to suspense analysis, the authors report a case study considered of interest, by a group of researched, called Liquid Narrative Group, of North Caroline State University
Warburg. Immagini permanenti.

Assessing the quality of volatility estimators via option pricing
The aim of this paper is to measure and assess the accuracy of different volatility estimators based on high frequency data in an option pricing context. For this we use a stochastic volatility model based on Auto-Regressive-Gamma (ARG) dynamics for the volatility.
First, ARG processes are presented both under historical and risk-neutral measure, in an affine stochastic discount factor framework. The model parameters are estimated exploiting the informative content of historical high frequency data.
Secondly, option pricing is performed via Monte Carlo techniques. This framework allows us to measure the quality of different volatility estimators in terms of mispricing with respect to real option data, leaving to the ARG volatility model the role of a tool. The empirical analysis is conducted on European options written on S\&P500 index

For this reason, experiments in human primary lymphocytes and murine macrophages (Raw264.7) were performed exposing cells to spherical citrate-capped Au NPs with two different nominal diameters (5 nm and 15 nm). The proliferative activity, mitotic, apoptotic, and necrotic markers, as well as chromosomal damage were assessed by the cytokinesis-block micronucleus cytome assay. Fluorescence in situ hybridization with human and murine pancentromeric probes was applied to distinguish between clastogenic and aneuploidogenic effects. Our results indicate that 5 nm and 15 nm Au NPs are able to inhibit cell proliferation by apoptosis and to induce chromosomal damage, in particular chromosome mis-segregation. DNA strand breaks were detected by comet assay, and the modified protocol using endonuclease-III and formamidopyrimidine-DNA glycosylase restriction enzymes showed that pyrimidines and purines were oxidatively damaged by Au NPs. Moreover, we show a size-independent correlation between the cytotoxicity of Au NPs and their tested mass concentration or absolute number, and genotoxic effects which were more severe for Au NP 15 nm compared to Au NP 5 nm. Results indicate that apoptosis, aneuploidy, and DNA oxidation play a pivotal role in the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity exerted by Au NPs in our cell models. Keywords: Au nanoparticles, cytotoxicity, aneuploidy, oxidative DNA damage, micronuclei, particle siz
Figure e stereotipi dell’autismo nel cinema e nelle serie TV. Il caso Avvocata Woo
In this article we propose three ways of looking at autism in film and TV series, which are united by a critique of stereotypes. We will firstly review the representations of autism in cinema and TV seriality, then we will examine some critical positions related to the scientific debate on autism and its media representations; finally, we will present a brief socio-semiotic analysis of the South Korean series Extraordinary Attorney Woo (ENA, Netflix, 2022)
Assessing the quality of volatility estimators via option pricing
The aim of this paper is to measure and assess the accuracy of different volatility estimators based on high frequency data in an option pricing context. For this, we use a discrete-time stochastic volatility model based on Auto-Regressive-Gamma (ARG) dynamics for the volatility. First, ARG processes are presented
both under historical and risk-neutral measure, in an affine stochastic discount factor framework. The model parameters are estimated exploiting the informative content of historical high frequency data. Secondly, option pricing is performed via Monte Carlo techniques. This framework allows us to measure the
quality of different volatility estimators in terms of mispricing with respect to real option data, leaving to the ARG volatility model the role of a tool. Our analysis points out that using high frequency intra-day returns allows to obtain more accurate ex post estimation of the true (unobservable) return variation than do the more traditional sample variances based on daily returns, and this is reflected in the quality of pricing. Moreover, estimators robust to microstructure effects show an improvement over the realized volatility estimator. The empirical analysis is conducted on European options written on S&P500 index
Low O2 master bag for beef patties: effects of primary package permeability and structure
The contribution of the structure and permeability of case-ready units on the colour changes of ground beef patties during low O2 storage in master bags, aerobic blooming and display life was investigated. We selected the following case-ready solutions: PVC 8000-+-closed-cell expanded polystyrene (EPS) tray, PVC 20000-+-closed-cell EPS tray, linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) 26000-+-closed-cell EPS tray and PVC 20000-+-open-cell EPS tray. Patties packaged onto a closed-cell tray and wrapped with PVC 20000, but never stored in master bag, were taken as a control. We monitored oxygen depletion in the headspace of the master bags, the microbiological indexes and the appearance of the patties (colorimetric measurements and scanning images). During the storage in master bags, the use of a very high permeability wrapping film and an open-cell EPS tray allowed the best colour stability of the bottom and upper sides of patties through 7-days. After master bag opening, the same combination of materials favoured the blooming of the upper surface pigments of the product and the stability of the oxygenated pigments during the display life. Moreover, the open-cell trays helped in reducing the discolouration of the bottom side of patties. Hence, this low O2 master bag system can enhance the colour stability of ground beef patties and therefore extend their distribution life
