EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES FOR PRELIMINARY USER CENTRED EVALUATION OF REGIONAL AICRAFT CABIN INTERIORS IN VIRTUAL REALITY
Full text linkOne of the main aims of the Horizon 2020 CASTLE (Cabin System Design Towards Passenger Wellbeing) project is to deliver innovative cabin interiors solutions that maximize the comfort and wellbeing of passengers in the next future. In order to achieve such an ambitious objective, an effective HCD (Human Centred Design) approach has been put in place to derive a Human Response Model based on a holistic assessment of comfort.
Therefore, the overall CASTLE HCD methodology has been conceived to provide different tools and methods to collect data on the impact that the design of each cabin item has on the user from the earliest design stages. One of these tools is represented by the use of 3D mock-ups in Virtual/Augmented Reality environments to capture data on the user’s perception and to rate the level of appraisal inspired by the specific design solution.
In this paper we present the experimental procedures for the Human in the loop simulations in Virtual Reality Environment of the Regional Aircraft solutions provided in the CASTLE Project. First, we introduce the overall procedure plan. Then, we describe the work done for the creation of the Virtual Environment for different scenarios (user standing in the cabin, Galley, Lavatory) and for the subjective evaluation of these cabin items

No full textLe plurisecolari vicende estrattive e industriali legate allo zolfo della Romagna sensu GAMBI (1950) e ZANGHERI
(1950), conclusesi nella prima metà degli anni Sessanta del Novecento in seguito alla chiusura degli ultimi
siti attivi, rivestono oggi una notevole importanza culturale, sia sul piano materiale (miniere molto articolate,
strutture di archeologia industriale, villaggi minerari, edifici, infrastrutture, ecc.) che immateriale (studi
scientifici a partire dal XVI secolo, rappresentazioni letterarie e cinematografiche, implicazioni sociali e politiche,
ecc.). L’articolo analizza, in una prospettiva diacronica, tali temi, con uno specifico focus sull’opera
pionieristica, geologica e cartografica, portata avanti dallo scienziato bolognese Luigi Ferdinando Marsili
agli inizi del Settecento. Attualmente, ad oltre cinquant’anni di distanza dalle ultime dismissioni, questo
patrimonio, assolutamente cospicuo, è alla base del senso di identità delle comunità locali, parte integrante

Viene fornita una nuova interpretazione del libro, che sarebbe strutturato come una sorta di Vangelo "rovesciato". Inoltre viene riportato in appendice un elenco delle traduzioni del romanzo in moltissime lingue del mondo, a testimoniare che il romanzo è stato un fenomeno culturale di grande portata internazionale, sebbene finora sostanzialmente ignorato dagli studiosi italiani
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textL’articolo analizza, in una prospettiva storico-geografica, una serie di fotografie storiche, inedite o poco
note, relative ai Gessi di Monte Mauro e Monte della Volpe, appartenenti alla Vena del Gesso romagnola.
Nuovi dati emergono in particolare circa Monte Tondo e il sistema carsico del Re Tiberio (ne è stata rintracciata
quella che dovrebbe essere la più antica immagine fotografica di una cavità naturale nei gessi
dell’Emilia-Romagna, già appartenuta allo scienziato imolese Giuseppe Scarabelli e databile al 1871 circa),
nonché riguardo all’evoluzione del centro demico di Crivellari (Riolo Terme), posto sul versante nord della
Vena, tra XIX e XX secolo. Da un confronto tra gli scatti storici e la situazione attuale, assumono preminenza
il forte impatto sul paesaggio dell’attività estrattiva novecentesca, nonché l’impressionante aumento della
copertura boschiva, connesso allo spopolamento qui verificatosi durante la seconda metà del Novecento
