Republication of “Fracture Through a Distal Fibular Tunnel Used for an Anatomic Lateral Ankle Ligament Reconstruction”

    No full text
Anatomic lateral ankle ligament reconstruction using free tendon graft with osseous tunnels has become a popular technique for revision reconstruction of the lateral ankle ligaments. With the procedure’s burgeoning popularity, an accompanying increase in postoperative complications is likely to occur. We report on one such complication: traumatic distal fibula fracture through the transosseous tunnels. © The Author(s) 2023.Open access journalThis item from the UA Faculty Publications collection is made available by the University of Arizona with support from the University of Arizona Libraries. Catalog is a representative of document and Entry Name is one of important part of catalog. For cataloguing purpose, Indonesian librarians used the Peraturan penentuan nama-nama Indonesia (Rules for Indonesian names) published by National Scientific Documentation Centre and recognized as the Indonesian National Standard, first published in 1975 and accepted as one of the Standar Nasional Indonesia or Indonesian National Standard. However it never been revised since its acceptance as a standard although the regulation stated that any standard must be revised every five years. The other cataloguing rule is "Peraturan katalogisasi nama-nama Indonesia" [Cataloging rules for Indonesian names] published by Pusat Pembinaan Perpustakaan (Center for Library Development) in 1976, later on continued by the Indonesian National Library as Peraturan katalogisasi Indonesia (Indonesian cataloguing rules), the last edition is the 4th edition published in 1996 and also never been revised since then. Owing to the different users, usage and dissemination, the "Peraturan penentuan nama-nama Indonesia" is widely used among academic and special libraries as well as becoming the cataloguing standards at various library schools and cited by lecturers for entering Indonesian names in their bibliographies. Tratamiento con implantes dentales y su relación con la terapia de bifosfonatos en pacientes con osteoporosis

    No full text
-- 2. Palabras clave. -- 3. Contexto de la investigación. -- 4. Planteamiento del problema. -- 5. Justificación. -- 6. Despite the few specitnens preserved, the retable-making activity fiad to be a quire important one in Galicia during the XVIth century, judging from documental evidence. In accordance to these scarce samples, several periods may be noticed from such sixreenth-century altarpieces. The first decades of rhe century still preserve rests of Gothic formulas, as we are able to observe in the retable at Orense cathedral, ascribed to Cornielles of Holland. From the establishing of this artist in Santiago of Compostela onwards, a turn in this production may be observed roward the plateresque retable, under the influence of Juan de Alava and his circle. We have an example of this in the main retable at Lugo'cathedral, made by Cornielles between 1531 and 1534. After this artist disappeared it happened a blank during the middle years of the century, rhough orher important works were mude which denore Juni's influence; that is the case of the rerable de la Quinta Angustia [the Fifth Afliction], ar Orense cathedral, atrribured to the Maestro de Sobrado [Master of Sobrado]. Far in the last third of the century we may perceive a busy activity in Galician workshops, in a ritne in which the classicism retable asserrs itself. Juan de Angés el Mozo [the Young], of León, works in Orense and he is the author of the retable de las Nieves [Our Lady of the Snow], at the cathedral, among others.Despite the few specitnens preserved, the retable-making activity fiad to be a quire important one in Galicia during the XVIth century, judging from documental evidence. Contorted stratification with clay lobes in volcanic ash beds, Raglan-Hamilton region, New Zealand

    No full text
Contorted stratification in basal volcanic ash beds of the Pleistocene Hamilton Ash Formation incorporates halloysitic clay lobes which project upward into a bed of predominantly allophanic material. The forms produced are similar to convolute laminations described in other marine and non-marine sedimentary sequences. The halloysitic clay lobes have been described previously as concretions and as the products of differential weathering processes. A third hypothesis is proposed to explain the formation of the clay lobes and associated contorted stratification of these basal ash beds, namely, that the beds were deformed by plastic flowage of halloysitic clay into a sensitive allophanic bed. This deformation was possibly a result of water-saturated beds rapidly losing strength as a result of cyclic reversals of stress and strain produced by earthquake shock waves

Restart TICrH: An Adaptive Randomized Trial of Time Intervals to Restart Direct Oral Anticoagulants after Traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage

    No full text
Anticoagulants prevent thrombosis and death in patients with atrial fibrillation and venous thromboembolism (VTE) but also increase bleeding risk. The benefit/risk ratio favors anticoagulation in most of these patients. However, some will have a bleeding complication, such as the common trip-and-fall brain injury in elderly patients that results in traumatic intracranial hemorrhage. Clinicians must then make the difficult decision about when to restart the anticoagulant. Restarting too early risks making the bleeding worse. Restarting too late risks thrombotic events such as ischemic stroke and VTE, the indications for anticoagulation in the first place. There are more data on restarting patients with spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage, which is very different than traumatic intracranial hemorrhage. Spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage increases the risk of rebleeding because intrinsic vascular changes are widespread and irreversible. In contrast, traumatic cases are caused by a blow to the head, usually an isolated event portending less future risk. Clinicians generally agree that anticoagulation should be restarted but disagree about when. This uncertainty leads to long restart delays causing a large, potentially preventable burden of strokes and VTE, which has been unaddressed because of the absence of high quality evidence. Restart Traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage (the “r” distinguished intracranial from intracerebral) (TICrH) is a prospective randomized open label blinded end-point response-adaptive clinical trial that will evaluate the impact of delays to restarting direct oral anticoagulation (1, 2, or 4 weeks) on the composite of thrombotic events and bleeding in patients presenting after traumatic intracranial hemorrhage
