Surgical strike and Indian newspapers
the researcher considered the first 14 days of coverage about the surgical strike starting from 29 September 2016. In this period, 114 articles appeared on Times of India (ToI), 102 in The Hindu (TH), and 29 in The Wire (TW) It has to be noted that the number of articles in TW seems to be smaller, but each story had multiple updates on the same day and other days for a few. Accounting for these updates, the total number of stories shall double the face count (which is around 60). A traditional newspaper has its limitation in extending the story as it receives updates on further developments. In contrast, a digital platform needs to hit the update button instantly. Hence, an initial short story updated at 6 in the morning on TW becomes a longer story by afternoon with as many updates as possible.
A keyword, 'strike' anywhere in the story, including the headlines, has been considered in choosing the articles. The entire edition has been considered from the cover page to the sports page in all three news sources. An entire article's assertion has been considered for the study (Wimmer and Dominick, 2010). The study employs a descriptive content analysis with a codebook developed based on much research on a similar theme.
The coding of each word has been studied empirically, and familiar themes are noted for each article. The codes employed in the study are drawn and revised from the study conducted by Jesper Falkheimer and Eva-Karin Olsson's paper on 2011's Norway's terrorist attack. Four parameters, Type of article, Journalistic Style, Framing, and Stance, are analyzed in analyzing the news items
Declining Bargain Power: Streaming, Production, and Entertainment Labour
The fluidity of time and space, diverse collection, and personalized recommendations of streaming (OTT players) would mean a lot to a viewer looking for instant entertainment. On the other hand, such transitions from traditional viewing platforms pose a diverse challenge to everyone involved in entertainment productions. The remote select button is replaced with a scrolling option, but the difference is in the platform's 'thinking' or analytical algorithm, which was not part of traditional TV or Cinema hall. This global shift might be beneficial to a few and yet, lowers the number of personnel involved in productions. This is a conceptual paper looking into the interaction between streaming and the entertainment industry labour

The Jallikattu Fiasco: Week Long Protest against the Ban Enforced and the Role Played by Print Media
As the fourth pillar of democratic governments, media has a significant influence in the formation of general conclusions among the masses. The bull has stomped its way into featured news story in Tamil Nadu several times in the last decade. From the time that people of Tamil Nadu prepared to celebrate Pongal in 2017, a large number of individuals from different urban communities of the state came together in open spaces, such as coastal areas and playgrounds, challenging a Supreme Court directive prohibiting the essentially provincial spectacle of Jallikattu. Convenient conclusions have frequently been drawn with regard to debilitating injuries and even deaths. The ‘game’ has never been directed by anyone with precise control. The present paper is an attempt to understand how a section of media, mostly newspapers, portrayed this sensitive issue. The review conducts a comparison between one English daily and one vernacular daily, both covering the Chennai locale in Tamil Nadu and attempts to examine the stand taken by print media in the projection of Jallikattu

Content Analysis of Newspaper Framing of Chief Minister of Karnataka
A newspaper is a powerful tool that has the potential to not only inform but create public opinion on an issue, person, or political movement. There are many past examples of the effect of newspaper coverage of politics on the outcome of elections. Every media organization would have its political leanings, and such leanings act as a selection criterion in portraying an individual, opinion leader, or a political aspirant. This study is intended to see if the ideology of the newspaper has a relationship with the coverage given to political parties and leaders. The study would compare, using content analysis and framing theory, the coverage of the CM in an English newspaper, The Times of India, and a Kannada newspaper, Prajavani, to see if there is any bias that can be due to the political ideology of the two newspapers
