Implementation of an evidence-based wellness program for student registered nurse anesthetists
Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists (SRNAs) face many challenges throughout their rigorous 36-month educational program. Many students report increasing levels of stress and a reduction in overall wellbeing. While the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists provides supportive resources in the form of webinars, support groups and hotlines, program specific wellness initiatives remain the safety net for most SRNAs. In the Michigan State University Nurse Anesthesia Program, wellness education and activities are dispersed throughout the 36 months. However, an evidence-based, intentional approach to wellness is lacking. The purpose of this project is to restructure the current wellness program to include the development and implementation of a mindfulness-based stress reduction course.Thesis (D.N.P.)--Michigan State University. KINDLE DIRECT PUBLISHING: AS ETAPAS DA CADEIA TRADICIONAL DO LIVRO PRESENTES NA PRODUÇÃO DE UM LIVRO INDEPENDENTE POR MEIO DE UMA PLATAFORMA DE AUTOPUBLICAÇÃO
Aiming to contribute to the scientific community with a critical analysis of self-publishing platforms, highlighting their limitations and potential within the context of the book production chain, this article discusses the stages of the traditional production chain and their application in the independent publishing process, focusing on Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing platform. To this end, we base our study on the traditional chain presented by Thompson (2013) and conduct a comparative analysis between these stages and those of independent production on the mentioned platform. Methodologically, we selected and compared the stages suggested by Thompson (2013) with the production and dissemination practices on Kindle Direct Publishing. The results indicate that, although the platform offers a narrative of independence, the independent author remains subordinated to the platform in various aspects. However, Kindle Direct Publishing democratizes production tools, providing a significant reconfiguration in the self-publishing process.
