Letter from Martin Ruter to James B. Finley
Get PDFMartin Ruter (Book Agent at the Cincinnati branch of the Methodist Book Concern, 1820-1828), rejoices in the success of Finley\u27s work at the Wyandot Mission. He reports that an independent missionary society has been formed in Cincinnati (not an auxiliary of the Missionary Society of the MEC) with the aim of supporting only the Wyandot Mission. 60 worth of goods and clothing have been collected at West Union. Ruter has asked Jacob Young to collect $100 owed to the Book Concern in his district, which will then be forwarded to Upper Sandusky. He has also asked G.R. Ruter informs Finley that they do not sell Sunday School books to ordinary purchasers on credit at the reduced prices recently listed in Youth\u27s Guardian. The reduction happens only when books are purchased in cash, or in huge quantities. He has therefore debited Finley\u27s account without any reduced prices. No full textPachnoda rubriventris rubrocinctoides Ruter, 1958 (Figs. 5d, e) Distribution: ANG, DOC. Distribution in Angola (Provinces): 1)?; 2) MAL. Historic records: — Angola (without locality) (Ruter 1958); — Angola (without locality) (Ferreira 1965 sub P. rubrocinctoides Ruter). Material examined: Carima (Cacuso–Pungandongo) (09º 35´00´´ S, 15º 42´01´´ E, 1117 m alt., 130) (MAL), 17–21.XI.2017, 1♂, CT, A. Serrano & R. Capela leg., ASC. Remarks. As the precedent subspecies, this was not reported for Angola by Beinhundner (2017a) and Schoolmeesters (2018). However, Ruter (1958) quotes with some doubt a female specimen of Angola deposited in “Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle de Paris” to this subspecies. The male specimen sampled in Carima (Fig. 5d) fits very well the morphological description, including the parameres features (Fig. 5e) indicated by Ruter (1958) (see also Rigout 1989). It was sampled by CT in an open secondary forest together with Chlorocala africana mutica (Harold, 1878), Chondrorrhina (Chondrorrhina) picturata (Harold, 1878) and Tmesorrhina tridens Duvier, 1891. Biological and ecological data are not available for this species. It is a new record for the Malanje Province.Published as part of Serrano, Artur R.
