PENGENALAN MODEL EVALUASI KONDISI JARINGAN PIPA DISTRIBUSI AIR BERSIH PASCA GEMPA
Rata-rata penduduk Indonesia hidup dalam masyarakat pedesaan. Kurang lebih 30 % penduduk Indonesia saat ini kekurangan akses terhadap suplay air bersih. Khususnya di pulau Lombok dan Sumbawa Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat, 50% penduduk masih mengalami kekurangan akan air bersih dan sebagian besar tinggal di wilayah pedesaan. Desa Karang Sidemen merupakan salah satu desa di Pulau Lombok yang secara administratif berada di kabupaten Lombok Tengah masih sering mengalami masalah distribusi air bersih, padahal potensi ketersediaan air yang dimiliki cukup besar. Sumber mata air tetap ada sepanjang tahun. Namun distribui air bersih untuk kebutuhan masyarakat di Karang sidemen belum terpenuhi secara optimal. Masih banyak warga yang mengeluhkan air bersih yang disalurkan tidak sampai ke seluruh penduduk. Maka dari itu perlu perbaikan jaringan pipa air bersih untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah mengevaluasi lokasi sumber air dan jaringan pipa air bersih untuk memperbaiki kondisi jaringan pipa di beberapa titik/lokasi yang dianggap mengganggu distribusi air bersih di Karang Sidemen. Metode yang digunakan adalah evaluasi lokasi sumber air dan evaluasi jaringan pipa dengan bantuan software EPANET 2.0. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah ditemukannya masalah berupa beda elevasi daerah yang akan diairi dan sumber air terlalu kecil dengan selisih 0.5 m sehingga dilakukan perbaikan pemasangan pipa menuju ke tangka air. Abstract: The average Indonesian population lives in rural communities. Approximately 30% of Indonesia's population currently lacks access to clean water supply. Especially on the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara Province, 50% of the population still suffers from a shortage of clean water and most live in rural areas. Karang Sidemen Village is one of the villages on Lombok Island which is administratively located in Central Lombok Regency still often has problems with the distribution of clean water, even though the potential availability of water is quite large. Water springs remain throughout the year. However, the distribution of clean water for the needs of the community in Karang Sidemen has not been optimally fulfilled. There are still many residents who complain that the clean water that is distributed does not reach the entire population. Therefore, it is necessary to repair clean water pipelines to overcome these problems. The purpose of this activity is to evaluate the location of water sources and clean water pipelines to improve the condition of pipelines at several points / locations that are considered to interfere with the distribution of clean water in Karang Sidemen. The method used is the evaluation of the location of water sources and evaluation of pipelines with the help of EPANET 2.0 software. The result of this activity was the discovery of problems in the form of different elevations of the area to be irrigated and the water source was too small with a difference of 0.5 m so that improvements were made to the installation of pipes leading to the water table.
Log Jams at a Bridge with a Pier and a Bridge without Pier
AbstractA flume experiment was carried out in a rectangular flume in order to investigate interaction between two different model bridges and logs from the viewpoint of flood disaster prevention. Logs is assumed representative of flowing wood during floods. The model bridge with a pier and model bridge without pier were used as an obstruction in rivers. The bridge with a pier is an usual bridge in the Yabe River basin and the bridge without pier is an usual bridge in the Nayoshi River basin. The result reveal that a log jam at a model bridge is determined by shaded area of an obtruction in the channel. In addition, An empirical equation for predicting the volume of woody debris accumulations at bridges is proposed
Woody debris production and deposition during floods at extreme rainfall period 2012-2013 in Yabe and Tsuwano River Basin, Japan
The behavior of woody debris has become a critical issue in river dynamics. It is still not widely understood, particularly during a flood event. Field investigations were performed to investigate the characteristics of woody debris production and deposition during the 2012 and 2013 floods in Yabe and Tsuwano River Basin, Japan. Ground-level photos, aerial photos, and direct measurements were used to measure the length and diameter of woody debris, characteristics of obstacles (length. width, diameter, and shape). These investigations revealed that woody debris deposition was divided into two types: the rest of individual woody debris pieces on the riverside slope or floodplain and the formation of a woody debris jam at obstacles such as bridges, riparian trees, houses, and irregular topographic relief. Individual woody debris pieces at the production sites are around two times longer than those at the deposition sites. However, the variation coefficient of piece length at the production sites is smaller than that at the deposition site. Our results also show that the most extended piece in the jam and horizontal scale of the obstacle are two essential factors in jam formation. An empirical equation for predicting the apparent volume of jam at an obstacle is also proposed
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
