A strategic service plan for Rustan\u27s Weddings and Beyond
Rustan\u27s Commercial Corporation is one of the country\u27s leading retailers. From its simple beginnings in the living room of the house of Mr. Bienvenido, Sr. and Gliceria Tantoco in 1951, it has become a corporation with branches in Makati, Shangri-la, Gateway and Cebu, whose target market is the upper class segment. There is no doubt, Rustan\u27s is a name to reckon with when it comes to retailing and/or mixed retailing.
With the worldwide economic recession going on for the past few years, Rustan\u27s Commercial Corporation is still able to retain its position in the highly competitive industry. One of the reasons for this stability is the presence of the Weddings and Beyond Bridal Registry (W&B), which has attracted couples from the affluent sector of the society. It has many things to offer such as discounts, free delivery and wrappings, consultants and referrals. Attractive as this section is, there are still some improvements that can be done to make it more efficient and competitive. One is the website, which is presently not working. A website has many advantages such as instant online registry and shopping, online communication between the clients and the W&B staff which can save a lot of time and at the same time, be very convenient for both. There is also the proposed catalogue, which can be very useful to future newly-weds, with its contents such as the different products that Rustan\u27s Department store offers. All in all, this thesis shows why Rustan\u27s Commercial Corporation leads in the retail industry for the Class A and B clientele, with the big contribution of W&B, as proven in the past few years
