<p>Ethical approval to collect data presented herein was received from the James Cook University Animal Ethics Committee (A2089). Permission to collect, possess, and transport sharks and shark tissues was obtained from the French Polynesia Ministere de l'Environnement (Arrete 9524).</p>
<p>This dataset contributes to a thesis by Ian Bouyoucos to be submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from James Cook University and Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes.</p>
