ABSTRAK
Penerapan elemen-elemen musik vokal etnik Minahasa dalam
komposisi paduan suara Opo Empung Raraateme Kai karya Perry
Rumengan merupakan suatu hal yang baru dalam bentuk
komposisi paduan suara. Bentuk baru tersebut dapat dilihat dan
lebih dapat dirasakan dari penyajiannya. Persoalannya adalah
bagaimana mengetahui dan memahami elemen-elemen musik
vokal Minahasa tersebut, bagaimana cara menggarapnya dan
apakah komposisi itu dapat diterima dalam masyarakat paduan
suara secara umum. Pendekatan untuk menjawab persoalan
tersebut adalah dengan menggunakan konsep tentang elemenelemen
musik vokal etnik Minahasa, konsep kreativitas dan
konsep analisis musikologi yang sesuai dengan konteks budaya
Minahasa. Penelitian dengan pendekatan dari konsep-konsep
tersebut akhirnya dapat memperlihatkan dan menjelaskan
elemen-elemen seperti zani, wangun, pêka, pêka’zani, èngkol dan
kaurê, kreativitas dan langkah-langkah kreatif dari Perry
Rumengan dalam proses mencipta, bentuk-bentuk terapan dari
elemen-elemen musik vokal etnik Minahasa dalam komposisi
paduan suara Opo Empung Raraateme Kai.
