    No full text

    No full text

Member States are requested to carry out the first groundwater bodies characterisation in accordance with Article 5 of the WFD in order to identify water bodies at risk of failing to reach the WFD objectives. Water bodies at risk will be subject to a further, more detailed analysis. This chapter describes groundwater bodies in the Tevere river basin and examples of further characterisation

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

The Development of Gazelles at the Turn of the Pandemic Crisis: Greater Attention to the Generation of Social and Environmental Well-being?

    No full text
This chapter aims to investigate whether firms capable of becoming gazelles at the turn of the COVID-19 crisis show a higher level of attention toward generating social and environmental well-being than their non-gazelle pairs. Relying on economia aziendale and upper echelons theories, the work employs quasi-binomial regression analysis to distinguish the factors allowing to predict the level of attention devoted to these topics by a sample of Italian firms and whether gazelles are more inclined to them. The work focuses on the Italian context considering that it was the first and one of the most affected by the COVID-19 crisis in Europe. The findings show a significant orientation of gazelles toward sustainability. The chapter contributes to the literature on start-ups, gazelles, innovation, and sustainability, binding together such literature’s branches. The novelty of the work consists of providing empirical and theoretical insights into the role of gazelles in social systems coping with relevant social and economic crises. Such reflections are provided in light of the economia aziendale theory, which discusses the role of entrepreneurs in our society. Further, the work also presents managerial and policymaker implications regarding orienting and supporting the business in times of crisis
