Audiomobiles, Sculptures and Conundrums
Roberto Gerhard was a pioneer of electronic music in England creating a number of substantial concert, theatre and radio works from as early as 1954. Gerhard’s electronic music is one of the richest repositories for understanding the development of the composer’s late compositional technique. Apart from the Symphony no.3, ‘Collages’, none of Gerhard’s electronic music is published. This paper will discuss aspects of Gerhard’s electronic music, focusing on Audiomobiles (1958-59) and Sculptures (1963)
Roberto Gerhard’s Sound Compositions: A Historical-Philological Perspective. Archive, Process, Intent and reenactment
This research advances the current state of knowledge in the field of early tape music both empirically and methodologically. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact that the electronic medium exerted in the musical thinking of Roberto Gerhard, one of the most outspoken, prolific and influential composers in the Spanish diaspora whose musical legacy, for the most part unknown, is a major landmark in the early history of electroacoustic music. Gerhard’s personal tape collection, one of the largest historical archives of its kind reported in the literature, is exceptional for both its antiquity (50+-year-old tapes) and its abundance of production materials. Through the digitisation and analysis of the composer’s tape collection this research argues that the empirical study of audio documents sets out a basis for a broader understanding of textual processes. More specifically, the research demonstrates that the reconstruction of works based on magnetic tape sketches is a powerful method to advance the understanding of early tape music. This research also examines Gerhard’s sound compositions in relation to the post-war context in which they were composed. Finally, this research presents performance documentation that proposes an approach to the electroacoustic music repertoire in which creativity is not at odds with rigor and critical discernment demonstrating that archival study can be closely aligned to the concept of re-enactment

Dramske osebe in njihove medsebojne odnose analiziramo s pomočjo Lacanove teorije o subjektu in Drugem. In this seminar paper we analyse the play Roberto Zucco, written by Bernard-Marie Koltès. The analyse is based on the theory of restoration of a language and consequently the author. Furthermore, we show a break with the post dramatic theatre established by Hans Thies Lehmann and the resurrection of structure and order in the text. The starting point for the analyse of dramatic text is postsemiotic theory by Anne Ubersfeld and Patrice Pavis. The analyse of the subjects is based on the Lacanian theory of the subject birth and the Other. We focus on the desire, which simultaneously constitutes the subject and it cause suffering to him in the endless chasing of the evasive luck
In this article, we deal with the intellectual and literary formation of Roberto Bolaño, the dialogues he maintained with both the classics and with many living writers, and the relevance of some of them in his work. In particular, we try to draw attention to his reading of Latin American and Spanish literature, and more specifically Chilean, Argentinian and Mexican literature, and his desire to canonize, to link himself with certain names and ostensibly separate from others. In order to argue this, we rely on the opinions of both his characters and the author, manifested in various prologues, articles and interviews
Biopolitics and thenatopolitics in Michel Foucault and Roberto Esposito
Perhaps in company with Giorgio Agamben, Roberto Esposito is one of the authors that has most worked and redefined the notion of biopolitics (re)invented by Michel Foucault in the 1970s. In this paper, I will present how Foucault and Esposito conceptualize the notion of biopolitics and I argue that the criticisms made by the Italian author are based on an incorrect presentation of the French author
This is the first of three essays on Roberto Pazzi's narrative. A second article will focus on Vangelo di Giuda, and a final article will examine the author's non-historical narratives. This essay examines the novels which portray historical themes, from ancient Rome (La stanza sull'acqua) to the RussianRevolution (Cercando l'Imperatore), in order to show how the author attempts to find a transcendental value in reality. Such a revelation is only possiblethrough art, which, by manipulating characters and events, enables them to move from being contingent to being permanent, granting them a presencebased on mythical parameters. There ensues a symbolic narrative construction, given both by the intellectual rhythm of the narrative, based on a utopic return to myth, and by the psychoanalytic inquiry and the spatio-temporal determinants, which in turn become metaphors for a-temporal existential moments.Article text in Italia

His figure has a continental impact. His life and terrible death give an example. His political career, his peculiar personality, his original ideas are the object of study of this text. I was compeled to write this text after Reading valuable documents about this character in the mexican archives, country where he passed an important part of his life. This documents reveal moments in his history that where out of the attention of other biographers of Hinojosa.</p
Renormalization group equation and scaling solutions for () gravity in exponential parametrization
We employ the exponential parametrization of the metric and a “physical” gauge fixing procedure to write a functional flow equation for the gravitational effective average action in an f(R) truncation. The background metric is a four-sphere and the coarse-graining procedure contains three free parameters. We look for scaling solutions, i.e. non-Gaussian fixed points for the function f. For a discrete set of values of the parameters, we find simple global solutions of quadratic polynomial form. For other values, global solutions can be found numerically. Such solutions can be extended in certain regions of parameter space and have two relevant directions. We discuss the merits and the shortcomings of this procedure. © 2016, The Author(s)
