No full textMore of the complex located north of Ulitsa Zodchevo Rossi; Rossi worked particularly long and hard (1816-1832) on an ensemble that is centred on the Aleksandrinsky (now Pushkin) Theatre , one that incorporated a grand system of new streets and squares. The north side faces Nevsky Prospekt; then comes the theatre’s main façade; behind is Teatral’naya (now Rossi) Street, linking the square on the south side of the theatre with the semicircular Chernyshov (now Lomonosov) Square, which opens towards the Fontanka. The street is lined with identical colonnades and arcades, each building being 22 m (72 ft.) high, 22 m wide and spaced 22 m apart. Faust Rossi
No full textFrom the video archives of the Cornell Law School Heritage Project. The interviewer is Peter W. Martin; the videographer, Michael d’Estries. This video covers Faust Rossi’s reflections on his career as a law professor. A 1960 graduate of Cornell Law School, Rossi began his legal career as a trial attorney in the United States Department of Justice Honors Program. He subsequently became a litigation partner in a Rochester law firm, and joined the Cornell Law School Faculty in 1966. He retired in 2013.
Professor Rossi is the author of a text on expert witnesses and coauthor of the Handbook of New York Evidence. He was a national winner of the Roscoe Pound Jacobson Award for excellence in teaching Trial Advocacy. Professor Rossi was a recurring visiting professor at Central European University in Budapest and a regular faculty member in the Cornell Summer Institute of International and Comparative Law in Paris. He has also given hundreds of lectures to lawyers and judges in the United States and Europe.

Programa de Pós-Graduação em História.Fundada no final do século XIX no interior do estado do Paraná por imigrantes italianos anarquistas, a Colônia Cecília foi pensada para ser um laboratório social onde as idéias e teorias libertárias pudessem ser colocadas em prática e analisadas cientificamente, sobretudo, as idéias relativas ao amor livre e dissolução da família nuclear defendidas por Giovanni Rossi, idealizador e fundador do núcleo libertário. Crítico dos relacionamentos monogâmicos e da família nuclear, Giovanni Rossi propunha a experimentação de relacionamentos múltiplos e simultâneos, o que denominou de Beijo Amorfista. Para Giovanni Rossi, a poligamia e a poliandria representavam um direito natural, assim como o meio através do qual e família nuclear poderia ser extinta, esta, entendida por Rossi como a mais funesta instituição humana. Nesse sentido, este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender as representações do libertário italiano Giovanni Rossi acerca dos relacionamentos conjugais monogâmicos e da família nuclear no final do século XIX. Foram utilizadas como fontes, sobretudo, suas obras lançadas entre os anos de 1891 e 1895, assim como correspondências endereçadas a amigos e familiares e outros escritos publicados na imprensa libertária da época. Assim sendo, a partir dos papéis de Giovanni Rossi, o presente trabalho aborda as discussões entre anarquismo, família, conjugalidades e amor livre.This study aims to understand the representations of italian Giovanni Rossi libertarian about relationships and marriage monogamous nuclear family in the late nineteenth century. Were used as sources, above all, his works released between the years 1891 and 1895, as well as letters addressed to friends and family and other writings published in newspapers of the time libertarian. No full textIl testo indaga la dimensione poetica e progettuale nell'opera di Aldo Rossi. Viene proposta un'analisi dell'invenzione progettuale mossa da una profonda dimensione poetica che attinge la propria linfa - questa è l'ipotesi - dai concetti di storia e di memoria elaborati da Walter Benjamin. Il confronto con alcune tesi di Walter Benjamin è anche il motivo per comprendere meglio il ruolo dell'autobiografia come ambito di sperimentazione progettuale. Dal confronto tra la storia dell'architettura e la nozione di autobiografia emerge un'ulteriore categoria interpretativa della poetica di Rossi: l'imprevedibilità. Alla luce di queste considerazioni viene proposta una diversa interpretazione del ruolo dell'analogia nella ideazione e composizione/montaggio dei progetti elaborati da Aldo Rossi.The text investigates the poetic and design dimension in the work of Aldo Rossi. An analysis of the project invention is proposed, moved by a deep poetic dimension that draws its own lymph - this is the hypothesis - from the concepts of history and memory elaborated by Walter Benjamin. The comparison with some theses by Walter Benjamin is also the reason to better understand the role of autobiography as a field of project experimentation. From the comparison between the history of architecture and the notion of autobiography there emerges a further interpretive category of Rossi's poetics: unpredictability. In light of these considerations, a different interpretation of the role of analogy and "montaggio compositivo" is proposed in the design of projects developed by Aldo Rossi

No full textThe current paper is the third treatment by the author (previous ones: Rossi 2002, 2006) of a complex set of terms widely attested in the Iranian area, but also present in Armenian, NW Semitic (and from here Arabic), Indo-Aryan and Dravidian.
Differently from the conclusions of Asatrian/Arakelova paper of 2001, the author identifies three major lexical families, with the following prototypes: (1) *kōnd-/kŏnd- ‘stump, stub’; (2) *kund-/gund- ‘globular, spherical; thick, large, full-bodied’; (3) *kōnd-/kŏnd- (a) ‘stem of a tree, stump, stock’; and secondarily ‘stock of gun, stocks for offenders’; (b) any anatomical articulation conceived as a support (metaphorical projection on human anatomy of a support stick), as ‘kneecap, elbow, knee’.
All of the linguistic families mentioned show interactions between them for all of the three lexical families, and while core semantics are clearly demonstrable for each of them, peripheral (both geographical and semantical) differentiations are widely attested.
Areal atymologies encompassing Indo-Aryan, Iranian and Dravidian are also hinted
