Abstract
BACKGROUND: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a malignant disease of the bone marrow in which early lymphoid precursors proliferate and replace normal marrow hematopoietic cells, resulting in a marked decrease in the production of normal blood cells.
CASE REPORT: We report a case of isolated ovarian relapse 7 years after the primary diagnosis in a patient, who was seemingly in clinical remission following unilateral ovariectomy and second-line chemotherapy.
CONCLUSION: In contrast to testicular relapse, ovarian relapses in acute lymphoblastic leukemia are rarely reported. Surgical removal of the mass followed by chemotherapy is the therapeutic standard

In pregnant women, the incidence of cervical cancer is estimated at around 1 in 10,000 (Amant et al. 2009), while the rate of adnexal masses varies between 2% and 4% (Amant et al. 2009). Approximately 6% of all operated adnexal masses are malignant and the incidence of ovarian cancer during gestation fluctuates from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 100,000. In questa seconda parte viene delineata la figura intellettuale di Giovanni Casati, che diresse la «Rivista di letture» dal 1912 al 1944, trasformando il periodico della Federazione in una rivista impegnata nella divulgazione della cultura cattolica. A questo impegno militante Casati fece corrispondere un intenso programma editoriale, che trovò espressione nella pubblicazione di saggi letterari, di manuali e opere repertoriali.The study consists of two parts; the first is dedicated to the history of the Federazione italiana delle biblioteche circolanti cattoliche since its foundation (1904) up to 1912 and was published in the previous volume of the «Nuovi Annali », XXVII (2013), pp. 137-163. In this second part, the author outlines the intellectual figure of Giovanni Casati, who directed the «Rivista di letture» from 1912 to 1944, transforming the magazine of the Federation in a journal engaged in the spreading of Catholic culture. To this militant engagement Casati matched an intense publishing program, which found its expression in the publication of literary essays, manuals and reference works

Abstract
PURPOSE: The aim of this work was to evaluate the incidence of port-site metastasis in patients undergoing laparoscopy for borderline ovarian carcinoma (BOT).
METHODS: Twenty-two patients who underwent laparoscopy from 2004 to 2008 for BOT were evaluated retrospectively.
RESULTS: In 15 patients an ultraconservative procedure with enucleation of the annexal neoplasia was carried out, while in five (23%) unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was performed and in two cases (9%) bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was done.
CONCLUSION: The literature data report few cases of port-site metastasis in BOT patients. Residual cutaneous metastases have been reported to occur within 12 months from the first surgery, generally in association with serous histology. In our analysis, we found 17 out of 22 cases of serous BOT, three mucinous and two endometriod. In no case was cutaneous metastasis revealed after an average of 30 months of follow-up

Il novelliere di Giovanni Sercambi da Lucca non fa eccezione, anche se l’autore non ha una cultura giuridica né s’interessa in modo specifico al diritto. Il presente saggio vuole analizzare sotto tale profilo queste novelle per verificare quale concezione del diritto emerge da esse e come la narrazione ne risulti arricchita.In the late medieval and humanistic novellas, owing to their very realistic character, the right is an important central and inevitable element in community life. Giovanni Sercambi’s novelliere is no exception even if the author lacks a legal culture, nor is specifically interested in right. Abstract
Based on the degree of cytologic atypia, mitotic activity, and other features, uterine smooth muscle tumors have historically been grouped into two classes: benign leiomyomas and malignant leiomyosarcomas. However, this separation holds true more in principle than in practice because the tumor's biological potential may not always be determined with certainty, complicating diagnosis, and therapy. We report three cases of patients with uterine smooth muscle tumors of uncertain malignant potential. Surgery was radical in two and conservative in one. During the follow-up, one patient developed diffuse lung metastases. The two other patients have not shown any signs of relapse to date. Uterine smooth muscle tumors of uncertain malignant potential may have an unpredictable clinical course and may metastasize to seemingly low-grade neoplasms in distant sites even after several years and even in the absence of important negative prognostic predictors, such as coagulative tumor cell necrosis. At present, no final consensus has been reached on the choice of the best strategy for surgery and adjuvant therapy
Why Current Therapy Does Not Cure Asthma. Is It Time to Move Towards a One Health Approach?

The paradox of asthma is that asthma can heal spontaneously, albeit in a small percentage of cases. This observation is highly relevant, since understanding the mechanisms of spontaneous healing can pave the way for new strategies for treating asthma. It is likely that the lack of cure for asthma is due to the fact that current therapies target downstream mediators of the inflammatory response. Asthma can be considered a response of maladaptation of the airway epithelium to the environment, through the orientation of the innate immunity towards an inflammatory response. The important effect of the environment on asthma progress comes from interventions which help children who live in disadvantaged urban neighborhoods move to higher resourced neighborhoods. It is quite interesting that the magnitude of decrease of exacerbations associated with moving was larger than the effect of inhaled corticosteroids and similar to that observed for the effect of biologic agents. Alpine altitude climate treatment is a natural treatment that targets biological pathway, improving various outcomes such as asthma control and quality of life, exacerbation rate and hospitalizations. If as researchers we want to set ourselves the goal of achieving complete remission of asthma, without the need for ongoing maintenance treatment, we need to change the approach to finding new asthma treatment strategies. The One Health approach, an interdisciplinary strategy with focal point on human, animal, and environmental health interconnections, appears to be the right tool for researching asthma prevention and treatment.Keywords: asthma, environment, alpine treatment, one healt

No full textThe d.c. conductivity and the dielectric constant of an epoxy resin cured with a diamine were examined in a frequency interval extended up to 10^10 Hz. The analysis of the dielectric behavior has permitted gaining a better knowledge of the relationships between dielectric parameters and the physical and chemical modifications of the systems. The results indicate that the chemical kinetics of the crosslink process is closely paralleled by the change in time of the dielectric parameters so that dielectrometry provides valuable information on conversion, relaxation times, glass transition temperature and gelation
