La vida en la era de su reproductibilidad artística : biopolítica, biotecnología y bioarte
No full textEl artículo reflexiona sobre el estatuto actual de lo que se conoce como bioarte a partir de su relación con la biotecnología, englobando ambas categorías dentro del marco de la biopolítica, concepto de Michel Foucault que se ha transformado en uno de los principales referentes de la filosofía y las ciencias humanas contemporáneas. A través de la definición de vida originada en los desarrollos de la biología molecular en el último medio siglo, se analiza el bioarte dentro de sus propios cruces entre arte, tecnología y política, recuperando y actualizando el análisis clásico de Walter Benjamin sobre la obra de arte en la era de su reproductibilidad técnica. Hoy es la vida misma la que se ha hecho reproductible, esto es, inmediatamente técnica, siendo objeto de prácticas estéticas cada vez más diversificadas.Fil: Rodriguez, Pablo Esteban. This dataset contains .mat files which has all the mean velocity profiles as well as the information on other scaling quantities such as skin-friction velocity, boundary layer thickness, kinematic viscosity and free stream velocity to obtain the different plots presented in the paper.
The data is presented in three different .mat files, one for each of the three different porous/permeable substrates examined in the study.
Measurements of turbulent boundary layer flow over all three porous substrates (10PPI, 45PPI and 90PPI) with two different thicknesses (3mm and 15 mm) have been performed using hot-wire anemometry and skin-friction drag-balance. The data presented provides profiles of mean velocity obtained using hot-wire measurements for the three cases at three different freestream velocities (10 m/s, 18 m/s and 26 m/s).
The specifics of the data is self-evident upon using the data from the three different mat files. </span

No full textLas novedades de las sociedades contemporáneas se nos presentan en retazos sueltos: "sociedad de la información", "cuerpos cyborgs", "trabajo inmaterial", "ingeniería genética", "capitalismo cognitivo", "ciencias poshumanas" Todo apunta, de un modo fragmentado, a una crisis del humanismo y un ascenso de la información como técnica, cultura y concepto. Este libro logra reunir estos retazos para describir nuestra época bajo la hipótesis de una gran mutación epistémica que comienza en el siglo xviii con la estadística, pasa por la desencriptación de mensajes en la Segunda Guerra y termina de coagular a mediados del siglo xx. Solo que no lo hace en torno al estructuralismo europeo, donde el Foucault de Las palabras y las cosas intuía el fin del humanismo, sino en torno a la teoría cibernética y la teoría de sistemas norteamericana. La arqueología de saberes tan diversos como la sociología, la genética, la psicología, la inmunología, la antropología o las neurociencias, nos muestra un mundo donde el lenguaje se ha desprendido de las personas y diseminado entre las máquinas y las moléculas. Las palabras están en las cosas. Como seres que comunican, que se organizan y constituyen sistemas, personas, cuerpos, linfocitos, cerebros o máquinas que conviven en un mismo plano ontológico: el de los seres informacionales. En este nuevo mundo se moldean las nuevas formas de acumulación capitalista, las estrategias de poder pasan por el gobierno algorítmico y la optimización de la vida, y las personas fabrican su subjetividad como una mixtura entre datos, máquinas, biomoléculas y objetos animados.Fil: Rodriguez, Pablo Esteban. A robust post‑processing method to determine skin friction in turbulent boundary layers from the velocity profile Exp Fluids (2015) 56:68

The dataset contains 28 different cases for various combinations of freestream velocity and freestream turbulence intensity generated with an active grid. All the data are taken using hot-wire anemometry and oil-film interferometry. Then the skin friction obtained by the latter method is compared with the skin friction obtained from a fit to the mean velocity profile.
The data is structured in 28 files corresponding to the various experimental cases. The header of the file is a summary of the experimental conditions (Friction coefficient, freestream turbulence, freestream velocity, wake parameter, boundary layer thickness, Reynolds number, etc.). The same notation of the paper is followed.
Below that header the velocity profile for each case is expressed in wall units (normalized with the viscosity and the friction velocity obtained by the fitting process) </span

No full textThis article explores the notions of organization and information in Gilbert Simondon’s theory of individuation. It confronts these notions with ideas from cybernetics and especially Alan Turing’s work. The ‘universal machine’ opens new ways of understanding the relations between humans and machines, and highlights an impasse in Simondon’s theory.
