Identidades Sexuais e de Gênero no Contexto Periférico Mineiro: discursos em uma experimentação audiovisual
Get PDFA proposta deste trabalho é discutir identidades sexuais e de gênero no contexto periférico da cidade histórica de Mariana, interior do estado de Minas Gerais - Brasil. A investigação parte da observação do cotidiano de gays e lésbicas do bairro Santo Antônio, também conhecido como “Prainha”. Esse cotidiano foi registrado em Diários de Bordo e, ainda, em linguagem audiovisual, no formato documentário, como parte de trabalho de conclusão de curso de Jornalismo da Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP). Nesse sentido, é interesse desse texto pensar como as identidades sociais, especificamente as sexuais e de gênero, são reguladas pelo espaço periférico e como a invisibilidade das discussões de diferença e diversidade se tornam determinantes para a construção das mesmas. As discussões partem, principalmente, de uma perspectiva queer, tendo como referências Judith Butler (2003), Richard Miskolci (202), Guacira Lopes Louro (2010); além da visão antropológica da sexualidade como uma construção social discutida por Richard Parker (2010); e questões sobre ordem do discurso de Michel Foucault (2009)
“Pode um homem negro carregar um homem branco?”: colonialidades, cárcere estético e imagens de controle na fotografia de Patrick Hutchinson em atos antirracistas de Londres, em 2020
Get PDFIn this article, we seek to understand the political disputes in the dialectical construction of the image, published by BBC Brasil, by Patrick Hutchinson: black man, who carries a wounded white man, in the anti-racist acts carried out in London, England, in June 2020. The debate is based on the claim of black gazes that decolonize discourses, including visual ones, on the bodies of black people, from the criticism of control images and reflections on aesthetic prison. It is concluded that Patrick Hutchinson\u27s photography, even though it gives the black the ethical place in the face of violence, which cannot be given to the whiteness that violates him, creates sensitive bonds that tie blackness to the dialectic of death by triggering images that refer to the colonial past. It is understood the importance of claiming the break with control images that, used by whiteness, continue to dehumanize black people in the production of meanings.En este artículo, buscamos comprender las disputas políticas en la construcción dialéctica de la imagen, publicada por BBC Brasil, de Patrick Hutchinson: hombre negro, que carga a un hombre blanco herido, en los actos antirracistas realizados en Londres, Inglaterra. , en junio de 2020. El debate parte del reclamo de las miradas negras que descolonizan los discursos, incluso los visuales, sobre los cuerpos de las personas negras, desde la crítica a las imágenes de control y las reflexiones sobre la estética prisión. Se concluye que la fotografía de Patrick Hutchinson, si bien otorga al negro el lugar ético frente a la violencia, que no se le puede otorgar a la blancura que lo violenta, crea lazos sensibles que vinculan la negritud a la dialéctica de la muerte al desencadenar imágenes que remiten al pasado colonial. Se comprende la importancia de reivindicar la ruptura con las imágenes de control que, utilizadas por la blanquitud, siguen deshumanizando a los negros en la producción de sentidos.Neste artigo, busca-se compreender as disputas políticas na construção dialética da imagem, publicada pela BBC Brasil, de Patrick Hutchinson: homem negro, que carrega um homem branco ferido, nos atos antirracistas realizados em Londres, na Inglaterra, em junho de 2020. Faz-se o debate a partir da reivindicação de olhares negros que decolonizem discursos, inclusive visuais, sobre os corpos de pessoas negras, a partir da crítica às imagens de controle e reflexões sobre cárcere estético. Conclui-se que a fotografia de Patrick Hutchinson, ainda que confira ao negro o lugar ético diante da violência, que não pode ser conferido à branquitude que o violenta, cria amarras sensíveis que atam a negritude à dialética de morte ao acionar imagens que remetem ao passado colonial. Entende-se a importância de reivindicar o rompimento com imagens de controle que, usadas pela branquitude, continuam a desumanizar pessoas pretas na produção de sentidos
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
