Experimentalismo e transgressão na Grammatica portugueza pelo methodo confuso de Mendes Fradique
No full textDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Literatura, Florianópolis, 2009.A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo mostrar em que medida o autor Mendes Fradique, em sua obra Grammatica portugueza pelo methodo confuso, transita livremente pelo cômico, pelo nonsense e pelo experimentalismo, revelando significativa independência em relação aos movimentos literários organizados, além de antecipar formas de expressão literária que se tornariam comuns décadas após o lançamento do seu método confuso. Concomitantemente, procuraremos mostrar que a obra em questão é essencialmente crítica, tendo como pano de fundo a transgressão dos cânones literários e da própria gramática, além de problematizar as relações de poder subjacentes à linguagem. A partir da análise dessas questões, tentaremos conferir maior importância à obra de Mendes Fradique no contexto literário. Além disso, esta pesquisa poderá servir para ampliar os estudos nessa área do humor, bem como resgatar contribuições valiosas e inovadoras de um autor pouco (re)conhecido, cuja produção poderia ter chegado até nossos dias de forma menos obscura e marginal.The present research aims at showing to what extent the author Mendes Fradique, in his work called Grammatica portugueza pelo methodo confuso, strolls freely by humor, nonsense and experimentalism, revealing a significant independence in relation to the organized literary movements, besides anticipating forms of literary expression which would become common decades after the release of his confused method. Simultaneously, we will try to show that the work in analysis is essentially critical, having as its background the transgression of the literary canons and the grammar itself, besides questioning the power relations present in language. From the analysis of these problems, we will try to confer more importance to Fradiques work within the literary context. Moreover, this research may be useful to widen the studies in the area of humor, as well as to recover important and innovative contributions of a lesser known author, whose production could have arrived to the present days in a less obscure and marginal way
Cross-kingdom similarities in microbiome ecology and biocontrol of pathogens
No full textAbstract: The concept of "gut and root microbiota commonalities" was already presented by Ramírez-Puebla et al.(2013); they discussed a lot of similar functional traits, host-bacteria interactions as well as evolutionary trends but also several differences. Based on deeper insights obtained by omics technologies, Mendes and Raaijmakers (2015) recently presented their concept that the structure and function of rhizosphere and gut microbiomes showcross-kingdom similarities. In parallel, Hacquard et al. (2015) analyzed similarities of the microbiota composition across plant and animal kingdoms and found only little overlap comparing fish gut and plant root communities. They explained the differences by various start inoculants and abiotic, niche-specific factors. In this context, to establish concepts is pivotal in microbial ecology for the critical evaluation of the immense amount of data obtained by omics technologies, not only for conceptual work in microbial ecological theories(Prosseretal.,2007), but also for translational fields such as biocontrol of pathogens (Bergetal.,2013). Therefore, we would like to extend the concept of "cross-kingdom similarities" presented by Mendes and Raaijmakers (2015) to an ecological context, which is shared for host-associated microbiomes beyond the boundaries of their respective kingdoms. Finally, we discuss the impact and implications of microbiome ecology on biocontrol of pathogens in plants and in humans

Narrar y mediar: experiencia educativa en la exposición “Gilberto Mendes 100”
No full textO presente trabalho de conclusão de curso aborda a minha experiência como educador na exposição “Gilberto Mendes 100”, em cartaz no SESC Consolação, em São Paulo/SP, no ano de 2023. De forma narrativa, é proposto um diálogo com o próprio compositor santista, tornando-o um personagem vivo e presente no ato de mediar. A partir desta premissa, o trabalho aqui apresentado busca tecer reflexões sobre a mediação cultural, o modelo narrativo e a formação da equipe educativa proposta pela instituição.Este trabajo de conclusión de curso aborda mi experiencia como educador en la exposición “Gilberto Mendes 100”, expuesta en el SESC Consolação, en São Paulo/SP, en el año 2023. En forma narrativa, se propone un diálogo con el propio compositor santista, convirtiéndolo en un personaje vivo y presente en el acto de mediar. Salman Rushdie in the Cultural Marketplace
No full textTaking up the roles that Salman Rushdie himself has assumed as a cultural broker, gatekeeper, and mediator in various spheres of public production, Ana Cristina Mendes situates his work in terms of the contemporary production, circulation, and consumption of postcolonial texts within the workings of the cultural industries. Mendes pays particular attention to Rushdie as a public performer across various creative platforms, not only as a novelist and short story writer, but also as a public intellectual, reviewer, and film critic. Mendes argues that how a postcolonial author becomes personally and professionally enmeshed in the dealings of the cultural industries is of particular relevance at a time when the market is strictly regulated by a few multinational corporations. She contends that marginality should not be construed exclusively as a basis for understanding Rushdie’s work, since a critical grounding in marginality will predictably involve a reproduction of the traditional postcolonial binaries of oppressor/oppressed and colonizer/colonized that the writer subverts. Rather, she seeks to expand existing interpretations of Rushdie’s work, itineraries, and frameworks in order to take into account the actual conditions of postcolonial cultural production and circulation within a marketplace that is global in both orientation and effects.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
