La ironía como crítica a la historia en Corona de luz de Rodolfo Usigili
No full textRodolfo Usigli es considerado como el iniciador del teatro mexicano contemporáneo al abordar en sus obras, temáticas que él consideraba puramente nacionales. Su tarea como hombre dedicado al teatro, abarcó todas las facetas del ámbito teatral con el ideal de alcanzar la cumbre de esta expresión artística. Entre su producción se encuentra la trilogía de las Coronas, conformada por Corona de sombra (1942), Corona de fuego (1959) y Corona de luz (1963), cada una de ellas muestra un pilar distinto con el cual Usigli pretende cimentar un concepto de unidad nacional.
La última obra de la trilogía, Corona de luz, está basada en la historia de las apariciones de la Virgen de Guadalupe al indio Juan Diego. Es a partir de dicha temática que Rodolfo Usigli escribe una trama alrededor de la construcción de un milagro que se espera beneficie a los conquistadores, pero que al final conforma el pilar de la soberanía espiritual de los mexicanos. En esta obra el dramaturgo emplea la ironía como un recurso para esgrimir una crítica hacia la historia nacional y, sobre todo, a aquellos con el poder de utilizar la historia en su beneficio.

Tourism Company of Puerto Rico. The speech argues that Posadas is distinguishable on its unusual facts from other commercial speech cases, and is fundamentally inconsistent with the Supreme Court\u27s seminal commercial speech decision in Central Hudson Gas & Electric v. Public Service Commission (1980). The author believes that a total ban on tobacco advertising would be impermissible under the first amendment, and not legitimized by Posadas. Finally, the speech reviews other significant commercial speech cases decided in 1987 and tentatively concludes that the commercial speech doctrine survives the Posadas decision

This paper analyzes the play Janus is a girl by Usigli, as a dramatic literary work that responds to the ideas of Octavio Paz in The Labyrinth of Solitude in which the use of a mask as a Mexican defense and self-preservation mechanism to hide from others is proposed. In that way Usigli goes back to those subjects and takes them to staging where he illustrates dynamics of power and violence with examples that Mexicans experience in the family where hypocrisy is a common denominator.Rodolfo Usigli y Octavio Paz sostuvieron una amistad intelectual. Este artículo analiza la obra Jano es una muchacha de Usigli como una respuesta desde el teatro a las ideas de Octavio Paz en El laberinto de la soledad, donde se plantea el uso de la máscara como forma de defensa y autopreservación del mexicano. Double Visions, Double Fictions
No full textA fresh take on the dopplegänger and its place in Japanese film and literature-past and present Since its earliest known use in German Romanticism in the late 1700s, the word Dopplegänger (double-walker) can be found throughout a vast array of literature, culture, and media. This motif of doubling can also be seen traversing historical and cultural boundaries. Double Visions, Double Fictions analyzes the myriad manifestations of the dopplegänger in Japanese literary and cinematic texts at two historical junctures: the interwar period of the 1920s and 1930s and the present day. According to author Baryon Tensor Posadas, the doppelgänger marks the intersection of the historical impact of psychoanalytic theory, the genre of detective fiction in Japan, early Japanese cinema, and the cultural production of Japanese colonialism. He examines the doppelgänger’s appearance in the works of Edogawa Rampo, Tanizaki Jun’ichiro, and Akutagawa Ryunosuke, as well as the films of Tsukamoto Shin’ya and Kurosawa Kiyoshi, not only as a recurrent motif but also as a critical practice of concepts. Following these explorations, Posadas asks: What were the social, political, and material conditions that mobilized the desire for the dopplegänger? And how does the dopplegänger capture social transformations taking place at these historical moments?.</p
“Mis dos patrias”: de Rusia al Paraguay. Las cartas de Rodolfo Ritter a Juan Emiliano O’Leary (1919 – 1929)
No full textThe Russian lawyer and economist Rodolfo Ritter (1864-1946) settled in Paraguay in 1902 and, with the exception of a brief residence in Posadas (Argentina), he remained in the country until his death. A friend of the most reputable intellectuals of the first decades of the twentieth century, a regular interlocutor of those who made up the leading cast of the country was, during the government of Eligio Ayala (1924-1928) technical advisor in the Ministry of Finance. This study recovers Ritter's performance as an expert and focuses on his ideas about the political and social conditions of Paraguay through the study of unpublished letters with the historian Juan E. O'Leary between 1919 and 1929.El abogado y economista ruso Rodolfo Ritter (1864-1946) se afincó en el Paraguay en el año 1902 y, con excepción de una breve residencia en Posadas (Argentina), permaneció en el país hasta su fallecimiento. Amigo de los intelectuales más reputados de las primeras décadas del siglo veinte, interlocutor habitual de quienes componían el elenco dirigente del país fue, durante el gobierno de Eligio Ayala (1924-1928), asesor técnico en el Ministerio de Hacienda. Este estudio recupera la actuación de Ritter como experto y se posa en sus percepciones sobre las condiciones políticas y sociales del Paraguay a través del estudio del epistolario inédito con el historiador Juan E.
