Abstract: Petrus de Vinea is the greatest epistolographer of his era, inventor of the stilus supremus that characterizes his work, the maximum expression of the ars dictaminis of those centuries. His epistles were considered emblems of perfection for several generations stylistic, as they were extraordinarily successful in combining expressive richness and formal refinement, logical rigor and conceptual impetus: they are a sign of ideological and cultural power.
The edition by Debora Riso offers the text of the oldest form of letters in 5 books, preceded by an extensive introduction by Fulvio Delle Donne.

L’Epistolario di Pier della Vigna in 5 libri. Edizione critica della più antica raccolta sistematica
Get PDFLa tesi propone l’edizione critica del cosiddetto Epistolario di Pier della Vigna nella forma sistematica più antica in 5 libri.
Nell’introduzione sono stati riportati elementi utili per la definizione del profilo biografico di Pier della Vigna e, dopo aver recensito i testimoni, vengono esposti e motivati i criteri editoriali sui quali si è fondato il lavoro ecdotico. In particolare lo studio della tradizione testuale ha permesso di definire con certezza posizione di snodo iniziale del manoscritto di Toledo, Biblioteca Capitular, 45.9 (siglato T). L’eccezionale importanza del ms. T è stata confermata dal confronto con alcuni testimoni appartenenti alla tradizione stravagante dell’epistolario particolarmente autorevoli come Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, Lat. 8567, nonché dalla circostanza che in più punti questo codice sana lacune presenti nella restante tradizione manoscritta. Inoltre l’analisi testuale ha permesso di superare schemi consolidati di suddivisione in gruppi e di postulare l’esistenza di un archetipo in movimento chiamato α, che si contrappone a uno β, da cui deriva la raccolta più diffusa in sei libri. Il testo critico delle 134 lettere della più antica forma sistematica dell’epistolario è preceduto da un breve regesto, l’indicazione della carta su cui il testo è trascritto nei codici collazionati, la pagina dell’edizione a stampa che riporta il testo dell’epistola corrispondente e il numero di riferimento ai Regesta Imperii. A piede del testo sono state collocate due fasce di apparato: una di tipo filologico, l’altra riservata all’individuazione dei fontes e dei loci paralleli, con trascrizione dei relativi passi. Nelle note sono stati forniti i dati necessari all’identificazione dei personaggi citati; sono stati segnalati fenomeni retorici o letterari ritenuti degni di attenzione e sono stati motivati alcuni interventi emendatori di passi particolarmente problematici

The aim of this paper is to show the role of divine vio- lence in restoring order in the cosmos through the analysis of one of the most complex texts of the First Testament: Abakkuk 3. The restoration of the cosmic order is also the restoration of good and earthly justice. It is evident, however, that the world of the con- temporary reader is different from that of the author and his readers: textual analysis shows the distance that separates them and, at the same time, opens up a space of issues that solicits numerous questions about our way of place ourselves in front of religion and the divine, on our presuppositions and our expectations
