On the validity of some Indian species of the genus

    No full text
In the present paper the author has discussed the validity of some Spinitectus species which Sood (1968) synonymised with S. mastacembeli Karve and Naik (1951) without going into the details and without applying the rule of priority. The paper also includes a discussion on the validity of S. komiyai Sahay and Prasad (1965) which Sood (1968) synonymised with S. Pseudotropii Agrawal (1965). A key to the Indian species of the genus Spinitectus has been developed

Title: The Dynamic Response of Double Bilinear Hysteretic Systems, Author: Birendra Sahay, Location: ThodeAn investigation of the dynamic response of single and two degree of freedom systems with double bilinear hysteric restoring force has been made. The stability of the two systems has also been examined. Numerical integration and Digital-Analog simulation of the system equations of motion has been done using fourth order Runge-Kutta Method and MIMIC simulator to check the approximate analysis.ThesisMaster of Engineering (ME

Drop on demand technology as a mini manufacturing platform for drug delivery and personalized medicine

    No full text
There is need to develop a process and technology through which small tailored dosages can be delivered with precision and accuracy. This has led to research on developing a manufacturing platform which could be used to deliver personalized drugs in a variety of dosage formats both cheaply and efficiently. We envision a mini manufacturing platform centered on Drop-on-Demand (DoD) technology which can have wide ranging applications such as personalized medicine, clinical trials, poly-pharmacy and distributed manufacturing. A prototype system has been developed that has been tested for accuracy using gravimetric methods for dispensing sample dosage formats. The incorporation of online analytics has also been explored. Three sets of experiments were conducted. In the first one, the accuracy of the system was measured experimentally using gravimetric methods. The dispensing system was found to be very accurate with RSD < 1% and this was true for dispensing solutions as well as suspensions. In the second experiment the effect of viscosity was studied. It was found that for a fixed set of variables such as input pressure and nozzle diameter there was a limiting viscosity above which the dispensing was disrupted. The aggregation behavior of suspensions during flow through micro capillary was also studied. Finally the applicability of Raman spectroscopy for in line analytics was tested experimentally. It was found that Raman can be used for qualification of API in-capsule as well as in the supply line.M.S.Includes bibliographical referencesby Abhishek Saha

Market disequilibria and inflation in Uzbekistan, 1994-2000

    No full text
The author develops, and applies a macroeconomic framework to ascertain the influence of domestic disequilibria, and external shocks on inflation dynamics in Uzbekistan. Using quarterly data for the period 1994:01 to 2000:03, he estimates several"long-run"relationships for the goods, money, and foreign exchange markets of Uzbekistan, which are characterized by multiple exchange rates, import restrictions, and other domestic administrative controls. The empirical estimates, which use error correction mechanisms for different markets, show that domestic monetary, and output developments, and changes in the official exchange rate, compared with the parallel market rate, have had a significant influence on the short-run behavior of the foreign exchange market in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, disequilibria in the product, and money markets are the major forces driving short-run inflation dynamics in Uzbekistan. It should be noted that the study has been constrained by both the quantity, and the quality of quarterly data available for the Uzbekistan economy.Fiscal&Monetary Policy,Economic Theory&Research,Markets and Market Access,Environmental Economics&Policies,Payment Systems&Infrastructure,Economic Theory&Research,Economic Stabilization,Fiscal&Monetary Policy,Environmental Economics&Policies,Markets and Market Access

    Isolating a Tree’s Skeleton using a 3-Dimensional Reconstruction

    No full text
L-Systems allow for the efficient procedeural generation of trees to be used for rendering in video games and simulations. Currently, however, it is difficult to engineer grammars that mimic the behaviours of real life trees in 3 dimensions. To be able to deduce them, the skeleton of a tree can be used to train a model and generate an L-system for a given tree in particular. The aim of this paper is to provide a pipeline to isolate these skeletons from images of a tree, using Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) to reconstruct the tree, and using Laplacian Based Contraction to retrieve the underlying skeleton. We find that this approach leads to 3-dimensional topologies that very closely resemble the given tree.CSE3000 Research ProjectComputer Science and Engineerin

    Literatura

Abstract This text picks at the vicissitudes of the native informant as figure in literary representation. Its author works “with rather an oldfashioned binary opposition between philosophy and literature; that the first concatenates arguments and the second figures the impossible. For both the native informant seems unavoidable”. She examines the position of such informant, in the light of what she calls the “axiomatics of imperialism” in Brontë’s Jane Eyre, in Rhys’ Wide Sargasso Sea, and in Shelley’s Frankenstein, to end up with a reading of Mahasweta Devi’s “Pterodactyl, Puran Sahay and Pirtha”.Key Words: Gender.
