Desbordes-Valmore, artiste naïve? Doutes sur un oubli de rimer
In the poem "Minuit" by Marceline Desbordes-Valmore (1833), a line is missing to rhyme. One could imagine that a line was missing, which is implied by the edition of her works in 1922. This hypothesis is all the more tempting as the author is often judged as a natural artist not very conscious of her art. An analysis of the text shows, however, that this lack of rhyme is motivated and makes sense. This tends to show that Desbordes-Valmore's versification deserves more attention than it is generally given.Dans le poème "Minuit" de Marceline Desbordes-Valmore (1833), un vers manque à rimer. Belief rule-based inference for predicting trauma outcome
A belief rule-based inference methodology using the evidential reasoning approach (RIMER) is employed in this study to construct a decision support tool that helps physicians predict in-hospital death and intensive care unit admission among trauma patients in emergency departments (EDs). This study contributes to the research community by developing and validating a RIMER-based decision tool for predicting trauma outcome. To compare the prediction performance of the RIMER model with those of models derived using commonly adopted methods, such as logistic regression analysis, support vector machine (SVM), and artificial neural network (ANN), several logistic regression models, SVM models, and ANN models are constructed using the same dataset. Five-fold cross-validation is employed to train and validate the prediction models constructed using four different methods. Results indicate that the RIMER model has the best prediction performance among the four models, and its performance can be improved after knowledge base training with historical data. The RIMER tool exhibits strong potential to help ED physicians to better triage trauma, optimally utilize hospital resources, and achieve better patient outcomes. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. Factors of Increasing the German Language Learning Motivation in University Students
This article is devoted to study of students motivation decrease in learning the German Language, and to the study of the ways it can be increased. The author analyses the received results and suggests effective educational ways and technologies. The basis for the research are the works by R. Gardner and W. Lambert, by Zoltan Dörneyi, K. Dress and fashion at Henry's court
In the reign of Henry VIII clothing was an increasingly important part of court life. Maria Hayward explains howimportant it was for the King to dress the part, through making contacts with merchants and spending lavishly on new, luxury textiles. To maintain his place at the forefront of society and style, Henry was supported by the King's tailor and the office of the Great Wardrobe. The author makes the point that Henry was eminently suited to leading fashion while he was young and fit but that this was harder when he became older and fatter. The fascinating relationship between Henry's clothing and armour is explored; both were essentail in creating an image of magnificence. Today much of his armour survives, but sadly his costume does not

Freezing modes of riming droplets with application to ice splinter production.
Laboratory studies of riming have shown that, provided the heat loss is fairly symmetrical, the internal freezing pattern of an accreted drop shows two distinct modes in the temperature range -3oC to -9oC and a transition to a third below this temperature: at high temperatures the freezing is dominated by an ice front growing outwards from the rimer with a somewhat enhanced growth rate around the drop edge; at temperatures below about - 5oC two ice fronts are evident, one from the substrate, one from the remote edge of the drop; and at temperatures of -9oC and below the freezing is essentially symmetrically inwards.-from Author
