    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    ABSTRAK Bimbingan Kelompok adalah kegiatan kelompok diskusi yang menunjang perkembangan pribadi dan perkembangan sosial masing- masing individu-individu dalam kelompok, serta meningkatkan mutu kerja sama dalam kelompok guna aneka tujuan yang bermakna bagi para partisipan. Bantuan tersebut berupa pertolongan di bidang kognitif, fisik dan mental, karena belum mengenal identitas diri, ragu, sukar mengambil keputusan, masalah dalam hubungan interpersonal, bahkan kemampuan berkomunikasi dan bersosialisasi tidak berjalan dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan Pelaksanaan Bimbingan dengan Teknik Problem Solving dalam Mengembangkan Konsep Diri Peserta didik di SMP N 3 Bukit Kemuning Lampung Utara Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaiman penggunaan konseling kelompok dengan menggunakan tehnik Problem Solving dalam membantu peserta didik yang mengalami masalah perkembangan konsep dirinya. Dalam pengumpulan data, penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Setelah data terhimpun, penulis melakukan analisis deskripsi hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Subyek penelitian ini sebanyak 10 konseli yaitu peserta didik kelas VII di SMP Negeri 3 Bukit Kemuning Lampung Utara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang penulis teliti, yang ada pada data lapangan adalah bimbingan kelompok dapat berkembangnya konsep diri peserta didik dengan bersumber hasil wawancara dengan guru BK. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian penulis, dapat simpulkan bahwa proses layanan dalam meningkatkan konsep diri peserta didik yang dilakukan oleh guru BK di SMP Negeri 3 Bukit Kemuning Lampung Utara dengan bimbingan kelompok teknik problem solving. Setelah dilakukan layanan bimbingan peserta didik JK, IN, KL, MN, NU, HN, KL, LU, CI, JO sudah mengalami perubahan dalam perkembangan konsep diri yang lebih positif, seperti percaya akan kemampuan diri sendiri dan lebih menghargai kelebihan diri sendiri, mengganti fikiran-fikiran negatif menjadi fikiran-fikiran positif, iimeningkatkan rasa percaya diri dengan melawan ketakutan untuk takut gagal, lebih terbuka dan menerima dengan baik setiap pujian- pujian yang di terima. The assistance is in the form of assistance in the cognitive, physical and mental fields, because they do not know their identity, have doubts, have difficulty making decisions, problems in interpersonal relationships, and even communication and social skills do not work well. This study aims to describe the Implementation of Guidance with Problem Solving Techniques in Developing Students' Self- Concepts at SMP N 3 Bukit Kemuning, North Lampung. This study aims to see how the use of group counseling using the Problem Solving technique in helping students who have problems developing their self-concept. In collecting data, this research used interview, observation and documentation methods. After the data is collected, the authors analyze the description of the research results using qualitative methods. The subjects of this study were 10 counselees, namely class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Bukit Kemuning, North Lampung. Based on the results of the research that the authors examined, what is in the field data is that group guidance can develop students' self- concepts based on the results of interviews with BK teachers. Based on the results of the author's research, it can be concluded that the service process in improving students' self-concept is carried out by BK teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Bukit Kemuning, North Lampung with group guidance on problem solving techniques. After tutoring services for JK, IN, KL, MN, NU, HN, KL, LU, CI, JO students have experienced changes in the development of a more positive self- concept, such as believing in one's own abilities and more appreciating one's own strengths, replacing negative thoughts into positive thoughts, increase self-confidence by fighting fear for fear of failure, be more open and accept every compliment that is received well.     Permasalahan yang muncul ketika proses belajar, seringkali bukan karena ketidakmampuan kognitif. Namun merupakan akibat dari kurangnya grit. Grit yang rendah membuat siswa tidak bekerja keras, tidak memiliki standar yang tinggi, tidak dapat fokus pada pemenuhan tanggung jawab, serta tidak menunjukkan usaha jika dihadapkan kepada kegagalan, kesukaran, dan hambatan. Grit merupakan kemampuan individu untuk mencapai tujuan jangka panjang melalui konsistensi minat dan ketahanan dalam berusaha. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas strategi bimbingan kelompok untuk mengembangkan grit akademik siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 20 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019 dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 24 siswa melalui teknik random sampling. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian yaitu: strategi bimbingan kelompok terbukti dapat mengembangkan grit akademik siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 20 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019.     We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

    Penggunaan metode mengajar yang tepat, merupakan suatu alternatif mengatasi masalah rendahnya daya serap peserta didik terhadap pelajaran, guna meningkatkan mutu pengajaran. metode pengajaran harus sesuai atau tepat untuk mencapai suatu tujuan tertentu. Pada mata pelajaran geografi hasil belajar peserta didik di SMAN 6 Cimahi rendah karena banyaknya materi dan waktu yang didapat sangat kurang. Pembelajaran dengan metode pembelajaran resitasi menggunakan infografis diharapkan dapat membantu peserta didik agar mendapatkan hasil belajar yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode resitasi terhadap hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengumpulandata dilakukan dengan tes. Hasil uji hipotesis penelitian ini yaitu: 1)Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap terlaksananya metode resitasi menggunakan infografis di kelas eksperimen menunjukan pada kategori sangat baik. 2)Berdasarkan uji t dikelas eksperimen menunjukan bahwa diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 yang berarti0,05 H0 ditolak yang berarti tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar peserta didik kelas kontrol sebelum perlakuan dan sesudah perlakuan dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran diskusi. 3)Penggunaan metode resitasi menggunakan infografis memiliki peran penting dalan menentukan hasil belajar peserta didik. Sesuai dengan uji linear sederhana dapat diketahui besarnya nilai korelasi atau hubungan (R) yaitu sebesar 0,449. koefisien determinasi(R square)sebesar 0,202 yang mengandung pengertian bahwa pengaruh variabel metode resitasi terhadap variabel hasil belajar belajar adalah sebesar 20,2 %
