Enterprise modeling:process and REA value chain perspective
The paper focuses on enterprise business value chain modeling as an alternative to business process modeling. Well known REA methodology proposed by McCarthy and Geerts is used as the basic modeling framework. The research presented in the paper results in a generic semantic enterprise model using REA ontology. This rather static model is then converted into UML activity, sequence and state diagrams thus achieving dynamic view of the REA model. The dynamic REA view connects the process model and the value chain perspectives. It is shown that by using REA model transition called dynamization not only process models at task level can be achieved but also a consistency check of the REA model can be accomplished. By means of step by step value chain modeling of the enterprise a consistent process model can be reached preserving all advantages of the typical business process modeling methodsProcess model; Value chain model; REA; Production planning
Some Ontological Issues of the REA Framework in Relation to Enterprise Business Process
The aim of the paper is to describe using REA framework to model enterprise planning not only at the operational level but also at the policy level. Using policy level enlarges the possibility of the models on the base of the REA framework because the policy level in this way represents metalevel of the model. The policy level of the REA framework itself is comprised both of the entities related by typification, grouping and policy relationships and of the Commitment entity with the fulfillment relationship. This entity may be viewed as either a sublayer or a middle layer of the REA framework. The Commitment entity belongs to the fundamental entities of the policy level but has some specifications that are expressed by the fulfillment relationship. This many-to-many relationship forms the link to the operational level. In the paper we discuss the problem and suggest some solution that moves the Commitment entity closer to the typification and grouping semantic abstractions.REA ontology; enterprise business process; semantic abstractions

Activation of an Estrogen/ Estrogen Receptor Signaling by BIG3 Through Its Inhibitory Effect on Nuclear Transport of PHB2/REA in Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is known to be a hormone-dependent disease, and estrogens through an interaction with estrogen receptor (ER) enhance the proliferative and metastatic activity of breast tumor cells. Here we show a critical role of transactivation of BIG3, brefeldin A-inhibited guanine nucleotide-exchange protein 3, in activation of the estrogen/ER signaling in breast cancer cells. Knocking-down of BIG3 expression with small-interfering RNA (siRNA) drastically suppressed the growth of breast cancer cells. Subsequent co-immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting assays revealed an interaction of BIG3 with prohibitin 2/repressor of estrogen receptor activity (PHB2/REA). When BIG3 was absent, stimulation of estradiol caused the translocation of PHB2/REA to the nucleus, enhanced the interaction of PHB2/REA and ER[alpha], and resulted in suppression of the ER[alpha]; transcriptional activity. On the other hand, when BIG3 was present, BIG3 trapped PHB2/REA in cytoplasm and inhibited its nuclear translocation, and caused enhancement of ER[alpha]; transcriptional activity. Our results imply that BIG3 overexpression is one of the important mechanisms causing the activation of the estrogen/ER[alpha]; signaling pathway in the hormone-related growth of breast cancer cells

From the original Favole published in 2011 by Topipittori in Milan. Here is a large-format (9 x 13¼) landscape -- rather than portrait -- book. I feel as though I have known it before, but I cannot find it in the database. The cover has a cat looking suspiciously around a table of fable characters, among whom is a stork dipping her beak deep into a tall glass. The back cover advertises correctly: Vingt fables amusantes, parfois cruelles, des plus connues aux plus surprenantes…. The illustrations are indeed provocative, starting with the first fable's dog sick from devouring a snail. Are we seeing his insides or the woods in which he found the snail? In FC, three foxes rejoice in carnival costume over the fresh piece of meat teased away from the crow, who holds his hands high in outrage. In DS, we can see the fish start to pick at the floating piece of meat. My favorite in the book is Prométhée et les hommes. Since animals outnumbered people, Zeus asked Prometheus to transform a number of the former into the latter. They have human form but bestial souls. Rea mixes human and animal faces nicely here. TMCM has the country rat, perched in a flower, turning his head toward a slightly open door. The cover pictures turns out to be a doubting illustration of the fable in which a just lion king has all the animals come together in peace. Rea suggests nicely that this plan may not work. I wonder why many fable books are published because they have little new to offer; I do not have that question about this excellent book! This is a hardbound book (hard cover)Language note: FrenchTraduit du grec ancien par Émile Chambr
Supply Chain Modeling with REA
Lack of integration between different partners in supply chains prevent companies from reaping the large economic benefits of their collaboration. In this paper, we propose the Resource-Event-Agent (REA) model as modeling tool to capture the complexity of supply chains. By extending previous, simple versions of REA, we show that the model can be useful when modeling Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) which is a subset of the general field of Supply Chain Management (SCM). Our REA-extensions provide a foundation for capturing operational data and supports sophisticated reporting and performance measurements. Specifically, we introduce the concept of Location and Transport in the REA ontology. Finally, we relate our work to previous REA concepts and propose a general taxonomy for REA event types

Domenico Rea e il Novecento italiano
It truly would be a mistake to associate Domenico Rea with the critical cliché of the "rediscovered writer." Important bibliographic "clues" (works by and about Rea, have been consistently published in recent decades), which would inevitably direct us towards the mammoth 'proof' of the Meridiano, edited by the late Francesco Durante in 2005. Specific names need not be mentioned here, as they are mostly indicated and discussed in the essays in this volume. Instead, it is important to highlight the corollary derived from this preliminary evidence. If this is the case, if Rea's writing has continued to be read and discussed in different forms and ways over the years, then the question is not so much one of, so as to say - give Rea what is Rea's. Rather, the problem becomes one of verifying the methods, timing, and critical formulas of this continuity. In other words, a reflection on the production of the Neapolitan writer - and setting the ambitious goal of being 'wide-ranging' - must bring to light unfounded spaces, unpublished and rare materials so as to reconstruct friendships and intellectual relationships, to reason as to the longevity of his work and its internal relationships. In recent years, the activities of the 'National Committee for the celebrations of the centenary of his birth', established by Ministerial Decree 220, 17 June 2021, and chaired by Pasquale Sabbatino, have focused on these objectives. Starting from the opening conference "Domenico Rea and Italian Twentieth Century" (Naples, November 9-11, 2021), the proceedings of which are published here, an attempt has been made to transform this centenary into a broader "critical occasion".PublishedSarebbe davvero un errore associare alla figura di Domenico Rea il cliché critico dello ‘scrittore da riscoprire’.
