Eleonora D'Arborea nella memoria popolare
A few but significant oral testimonies gathered in the Oristano (Sardinia, Italy) area demonstrate the existence, in the popular class as well, of special forms of mythical reppresentations regarding Eleonora d'Arborea: a renowed figure in Sardinian Middle Ages, mainly known for having issued a code of laws (Carta de Logu) in the Arborea's Kingdom. This essays is focused on the analysis of the process of symbolic transfiguration operated on the historical figure by popular 'memory'
P. R. Moore-Dewey's "Pregiudizio e Orgoglio": An Italian Re-Make of Austen's "Pride and Prejudicce"
Virtually since its publication in 1814, Jane Austen's most famous novel, Pride and Prejudice, has enjoyed great success and has been the object of countless re-workings, re-mediations and adaptations on global scale. This essay aims at discussing a special instance of this phenomenon: an Italian re-make entitled Pregiudizio e Orgoglio (“Prejudice and Pride”), and written by Austen enthusiast and admirer, P.R. Moore-Dewey (pseudonym of Patrizia Murreddu). Appeared in Italy in 2012, to coincide with the bicentenary celebrations of its model and source, this title constitutes a genuine literary effort that deserves the attention of Austen enthusiasts, fans, and also scholars for its many merits, in particular that of being an intricate patchwork of quotations and, thus, a thoroughly post-modern work.
In this essay, I intend to examine Pregiudizio e Orgoglio's emblematic significance by outlining the numerous aspects that make it such a noteworthy adaptation of Austen. In particular, it is my intention to analyze the change of perspective adopted by the author, who decided to re-write Austen's tale through the point of view of Mr. Darcy and his sister Georgiana. Moreover, it is my intention to look at some of the many intertextual references present in Moore-Dewey's work (taken both from the whole Austen output, and from many other “classic” or “canonical” English writers) and consider the impact of such references and quotations on the reading experience. Finally, I will consider the extensive use of paratextual devices, which contribute to define this reworking a particularly relevant literary manifestation
La metafora della «bussola» come strumento teorico di orientamento per l'analisi del paradigma economico Industry 4.0
The purpose of this paper is to provide a theoretical framework in order to both analyse the new economic and social phenomenon named Industry 4.0 and to support the literature orientation on the industrial economic issues. In particular, the Authors systematized the main academic contributions, which were reviewed to deeply understand the fourth industrial revolution. The compass is based on the Structure-Conduct-Performance (scp) model, and it is characterized by a modular approach thanks to its distinctive features that consider the theoretical elements of applied economics (i.e. supply concentration, entry barriers, vertical integration and markets dependence, conduct and interaction among actors). Moreover, the «theoretical compass» might be useful to answer to the key questions related to the changes stemming from the new Industry 4.0 process. Some policy implications of the study are finally discussed

Design for Territories. Approaches and Methodologies for the Re-Production of Places
Place identity has dramatically increased its importance since the appearance of the term “strategic planning”. After the switch to the so-called Knowledge Society (Castells, 1996), culture and creativity have been the most important pillars for urban regeneration.
Design approaches, competences and methodologies have a significant impact and reputation on the process of analysis, construction and re-production of places.
Design is particularly able in driving those kind of interventions, focused on the valorization of tangible and intangible local peculiarities, which give shape to, highlight and connect specific territorial identities.
In this paper, we are going to propose a model we want to use in order to synthetize the possible approaches design can activate for the Re-production of places. We are going to use the biological and artificial metaphors and express them according to tangible and intangible dimensions.
D4T – Design for Territories, the new Research Network from the Department of Design of the Politecnico di Milano proposes the use of “territorial” as an adjective to identify activities and characteristics dealing with places, geographical areas, in connection with people. The aim of D4T is that of investigating the abovementioned pressing issues about the potentialities of design in enabling innovative processes for places.
D4T is aimed at mapping, connecting and exploiting the different competencies and core skills that, within the Design Department, are dealing with the use of design strategies for regional enhancement, in light of the demands of contemporary society. In addition to that, D4T wants to increase the international network by developing connection with other researchers and research centres that work on the same issues. In our paper, we are going to present the theoretical positioning of the research network for a design-oriented Re-production of places

Chemical neutralization of industrial by-products from the secondary aluminum industry: re-use as foaming agents for the synthesis of geopolymers and monitoring of the hydrogen-rich gas production.
The project, financially supported by the Regione Marche (POR Marche FSE 2014/2020), was assigned to the Ph.D. student Roberto Ercoli (UNIURB) with the supervision of Prof. Alberto Renzulli (UNIURB) and Prof. Eleonora Paris (UNICAM). Several universities and research groups such as the University of Urbino, University of Camerino, Institute of Geosciences and Georesources (IGG-CNR, Florence), University of Florence, Technical University of Liberec, and Warsaw University of Technology collaborated to create a European network working in this innovative and brand-new field. Moreover, the primary aspect of this network is the collaboration between the scientific parts, the regional system, and the industrial system. The involvement of the National Technological Clusters is a proposal of the MIUR in 2012 (Decree No. 257 "Notice for the development and reinforcement of national technological clusters"), as well as national research agencies, such as CNR, INFN, IIT, ENEA, to develop highly qualified scientific research and to support the national development. Considering the policies for the economic development identified by the resolutions of the regional council of the Regione Marche (DGR n.1511/2016, and n. 1035 of 30/7/2018), the present research promotes a more sustainable manufacturing sector. The research focuses on the recovery, re-use, and valorization of industrial by-products from the secondary aluminum industry through their chemical neutralization and synthesis of geopolymer foams. Valorization of the so-called "industrial by-product" is an actual and discussed theme. The industry stakeholders support the achievement of the environmental targets about resource management efficiency, reducing waste output and gas emissions, and constant industrial processes optimization. The development and activation of demanufacturing logistics are essential for improving relative residual values by specific operations and treatments of raw material derived from end-life products and industrial waste. The chemical neutralization of highly reactive materials that come from the treatment processes of scraps (beverage cans and domestic appliances) was investigated through experiments in aqueous alkaline solutions. These metallic aluminum-rich by-products were classified, according to EU law, as dangerous waste, as they can potentially develop flammable gases capable of forming explosive mixtures with air. In this way, they cannot be disposed of in landfills for non-hazardous wastes if chemical neutralization is not planned and performed beforehand. The first experiments were mainly aimed at unraveling the oxidation rate and quantifying the production of hydrogen-rich gases from the reactions of the metallic aluminum-rich by-products in a water-rich alkaline (liquid or vapor) environment. Reactions were carried out in a stainless-steel batch mini-reactor with metering and sampling valves, with the resulting gases analyzed by gas-chromatography (GC). The experimental runs performed in the mini-reactor proved to be effective for eliminating the reactive metallic aluminum, reaching a maximum hydrogen production of 96% of the total gases. All the obtained results can be transferred and applied to (i) the possible industrialization of the method for the chemical neutralization of these dangerous by-products, increasing sustainability and workplace safety, (ii) the use of the resulting hydrogen as a source of energy for the furnaces of the secondary aluminum industry itself, and (iii) new technological materials, e.g., "geopolymer foams (GFs)," by using hydrogen coupled with aluminosilicate materials as a foaming agent. The special hazardous wastes derived from the entire recycling process in the secondary aluminum industry were trapped into these geopolymers. The experimental study affects a vast reality concerning waste management through the recovery, chemical
neutralization, and incorporation of these hazardous substances into the GFs. A geopolymeric matrix composed of metakaolin (MK), silica sand (100 wt.% of MK), and chopped carbon fibers (1% wt.% of MK) was doped, adding the industrial by-products from the screening, pyrolysis, de-dusting, and fusion processes with specific contents (1; 2; 3; 4; 5 wt.% of MK). Several experimental tests were carried out to characterize the GFs by the mechanical (flexural, compressive, and Charpy impact strengths) and thermal properties (thermal conductivity, diffusivity, and specific heat)

La notion de défectuosité du produit dans les jurisprudences des pays européens
This work analyses the notion of defective product originally developed by US Courts, then ambiguously defined by the European directive n. 374 of 1985 and differently interpreted and applied by the respective domestic Courts. In particular, some European jurisdictions apply the risk / utility test introduced by the US Courts for design defects cases, although this test is not mentioned by the European Directive. The author, having highlighted the inconsistences of the risk / utility test, proposes an alternative model of classification of defective products according to the elements actually used by judges in order to allocate the liability, as emerging from the text of their decisions. This classification leads to held the manufacturer strictly liable not only for manufacturing defects, but also for those design defects which he was aware of (as in some cases of defective vaccine).Cette étude examine la notion de défectuosité du produit initialement élaborée par les Cours américaines, définie de manière ambigüe par le législateur européen avec la directive n° 374 de 1985, puis différemment interprétée et appliquée par les Cours respectives des pays membres. What did Stanislavsky see watching Eleonora Duse's Acting
Performances like those Eleonora Duse’s led James Joyce to comment that the Italians had an immense genius for the theatre. He said that on stage, they were undoubtedly the greatest actors in existence. What is more, Stanislavsky was so inspired by Eleonora Duse’s acting that he formed his system, with the aim of matching her absorbing and exquisitely sympathetic acting. In particular, Stanislavsky was profoundly attracted by the simplicity of her acting. But it did not emerge from a natural status or attitude, as many have believed. As we now know that it came from the perfect execution of the drammatica
