Mutation Breeding in Chickpea: Perspectives and Prospects for Food Security

Imran Kozgar aims to cover the problems of mutation breeding in pulse crops in the light of issues related to food insecurity and malnutrition, which according to FAO are the major threats at the present time. So far the research on induction of mutation in pulse crops is negligible compared to cereal crops, though the pulse crops and especially the chickpea are the largest grown crops in India. The main objective of the book is to reveal and explore the possibility of inducing genetic variability in early generations of mutated chickpea, describe the positive aspects of mutagenic treatments, evaluate the content of mineral elements (iron, manganese, zinc and copper) and physiological parameters of isolated high yielding mutant lines. The author hopes that his book will help to advance studies on pulse crops, and that in the long term it will help to reduce the food insecurity and malnutrition problems presently persisting in various developing countries, including India
Enhanced Two-Stage Hierarchical Control for a Dual Mode WECS-Based Microgrid
No full textAlong with the great benefits of utilizing renewable energy (e.g., wind energy) in the power system, there are also some issues, such as increasing the uncertainty and reducing the system inertia. Communication-based centralized control has started to play a significant role in reacting to the aforementioned issues, especially for relatively small systems, such as microgrids. In this context, in this paper, an enhanced communication-based hierarchical control for a dual mode wind energy conversion system-based microgrid is modeled and investigated. The primary stage utilized the P-V/Q-f droop method, which is the preferred droop method to be used in microgrids when the line impedance is mainly resistive. The secondary stage relied on an enhanced methodology for compensating the deviations of voltage and frequency and improving the performance of the microgrid during small and large signal disturbances. Moreover, as this microgrid operates in a dual mode, the mode transition cases from grid-tied mode to autonomous mode and vice versa have been addressed. Thereafter, an improved control scheme for the unplanned outage transition and a modified control scheme for the pre-synchronization and reconnection transition were proposed. Finally, the proposed work was evaluated by the simulation results in MATLAB environment

Deltocephalus fuscovarius Distant. Syn. nov. Material examined. Pakistan: 213, 4 Ƥ, Sindh Prov., Tando Jam, 7.xi.07. India: several specimens from throughout India and Sri Lanka, including the syntypeƤ of Xestocephalus dissimilis and 2 Ƥ syntypes of Deltocephalus fuscovarius (BMNH). Remarks. Nilai nilai pendidikan akhlak di kalangan masyarakat mengalami kemerosotan, baik di kalangan pelajar, maupun masyarakat umum. Fenomena tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan yang berlangsung hingga saat ini belum mampu memberikan kontribusi pada manusia untuk meningkatkan derajatnya sebgaimana yang dicontohkan oleh Nabi Muhammad SAW. Hal ini terjadi karena kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat terutama umat Islam untuk mempelajari Al-Qur’an dan Hadits sebagai pedoman hidup. Berangkat dari sinilah penulis tertarik untuk mengkaji lebih dalam mengenai nilai-nilai pendidikan akhlak yang terkandung dalam Al-Qur’an terkhusus dalam Surah Ali Imran : 159-160. Kemudian agar pembahasan lebih mudah untuk dipahami, penulis mengambil perspektif Tafsir al Misbah karya M. Quraish Shihab. Fokus penelitian ini adalah apa saja nilai-nilai pendidikan akhlak dalam surah Ali Imran : 159-160 perspektif Tafsir al Misbah? Dan bagaiman relevansi nilai-nilai pendidikan akhlak yang terkandung dalam surah Ali Imran : 159-160 perspektif Tafsir al Misbah dengan masyarakat modern?
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data primernya adalah kitab Tafsir al Misbah yang membahas tafsir Qur’an Surah Ali Imran 159-160. Sedangkan data sekundernya berupa buku, jurnal, artikel, maupun karya-karya tulis ilmiah lainnya yang berhubungan dengan pokok penelitian ini. Untuk menganalisis data yang terkumpul, diklarifikasikan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan analisis dengan cara yang tepat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan content analysis yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan cara yang tepat.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai pendidikan akhlak yang terkandung dalam surah Ali Imran : 159-160 perspektif Tafsir al Misbah adalah akhlak kepada masyarakat yang berupa lemah lembut, pemaaf, dan musyarawah. Kemudian juga terdapat nilai akhlak kepada Allah yang berupa tawakal. Nilai-nilai pendidikan akhlak yang terkandung dalam Surah Ali Imran :159-160 perspektif tafsir al Misbah masih sangat relevan dengan kehidupan masyarakat sekarang sebagai acuan berperilaku untuk menyikapi hal-hal kekinian yang didalamnya juga terdapat nilai-nilai diluar syariat dan kewajaran yang menimbulkan kemerosotan akhlak dalam masyarakat.

The values moral education in the community has decreased, both among students and in the general public community. This phenomenon shows that education has taken place until now has not been able to contribute to humans to increase their degree as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad. This happens because of the lack of public awareness, especially Muslims, to study the Al-Qur'an and Hadith as a guide for life. Starting from this, the author is interested in examining more deeply the values of moral education contained in the Qur'an, especially in Surah Al Imran: 159-160. Then, for make the discussion easier to understand, the wraiter takes the perspective Tafsir al Misbah creation M. Quraish Shihab. The research focus of this research is what are the values of moral education in Surah Ali Imran: 159-160 from the perspective of Tafsir al Misbah? And how is the relevance of the values of moral education contained in Surah Ali Imran: 159-160 from the perspective of Tafsir al Misbah with modern society?
The research is library research. The primary data source is the book Tafsir al Misbah which discusses interpretation the Qur'an Surah Ali Imran 159-160. Meanwhile, secondary data are books, journals, articles, and other scientific papers related to the subject of this research. To analyze the collected data, it is clarified according to needs and analyzed in an appropriate manner. In analyzing the data, the technique used is content analysis.
The results this research indicate that the values moral education contained in the Surah Ali Imron: 159-160 Tafsir al Misbah perspective include: morals to the community in the form of gentle, forgiving, and Duscusion. Then there is also a moral value to Allah in the form of tawakal. Educational values the morals contained in Surah Ali Imran :159-160 perspective of al-Misbah interpretation is still very relevant to people's lives today as a reference for behavior to address things in the present, in which there are also values outside the Shari'a and fairness that cause a decline in morals in society.

The crisis of antimicrobial resistance has been ascribed to the misuse of these agents and due to unavailability of newer drugs attributable to exigent regulatory requirements and reduced financial inducements. Comprehensive efforts are needed to minimize the pace of resistance by studying emergent microorganisms, resistance mechanisms, and antimicrobial agents. Multidisciplinary approaches are required across health care settings as well as environment and agriculture sectors. Progressive alternate approaches including probiotics, antibodies, and vaccines have shown promising results in trials that suggest the role of these alternatives as preventive or adjunct therapies in future. Feature Extraction and Classification of Neuromuscular Diseases Using Scanning EMG

These features are maximum amplitude, phase duration at the maximum amplitude, maximum amplitude times phase duration, and number of peaks. By using statistical values such as mean and variance, number of features has increased up to eight. This dataset was classified by using multi layer perceptron (MLP), support vector machines (SVM), k-nearest neighbours algorithm (k-NN), and radial basis function networks (RBF). The best accuracy is obtained as 97.78% with SVM algorithm and 3-NN algorithm
Noise performance of frequency- and phase-locked CW magnetrons operated as current-controlled oscillators.
No full textLow-power continuous wave ``cooker'' magnetrons driven from industrial-quality switch-mode power supplies have been frequency locked by driving them as current-controlled oscillators in a phase-lock loop (PLL). The noise performance of these frequency-locked oscillators is reported as a function of heater power. The injection of -30- to -40-dB signals derived from the reference oscillator of the PLL into the magnetron's output waveguide while the anode current is controlled by the PLL is shown to phase lock the magnetron's output. Results for locking performance are presented.
