News & Issues piece on Kim Allen, the first and only woman ranger on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, who has won her case against the Department of Conservation for sex discrimination and retaliation. Human Rights Commission member Paul Vestal said the case was one of the worst he\u27d ever seen. Allen, who has been working on the waterway since 1992, claimed that waterway manager Tim Caverly has discriminated against her every since she was hired. The department denied the allegations, but Human Rights investigator Barbara Lelli found credible evidence substantiating Allen\u27s claims, including her charge that the department retaliated against her. If the parties can\u27t settle the case, Allen\u27s attorney, David Webbert, said the matter will end up in court
